Readers have already started clamoring for Week 1 Rankings, and I understand. While I generally choose this week/weekend to do the bulk of my drafting (spots are still open in our free-to-play RCL League!), just because I haven’t drafted much yet doesn’t mean you haven’t… And plus, clamoring has the word “clam” in it and I love clam chowder. You can take that two ways, and I’m pretty sure both of them are sexual. So there. And yeah, in case anyone was wondering, our Draft Rankings are pretty legit (L-E-G-I-T, because you need to spell it for extra legitimacy) as you can see above, but so are our Weekly Rankings.
I’ll be releasing an updated Week 1 Rankings post during my normal slot (hehe, slot) next week on Thursday, however, I do recognize that there are those of you out there ready to get their Week 1 lineups up and running. So for those of you already in season-mode, here are my Way-too-Early Week 1 Rankings for the 2017 Fantasy Football Season!

Never too early for rankings!
Drop Hogan or Eifert (non-ppr, 12 tm, TE not required but can play as WR) for Coleman or Zay Jones? My other WRs are: Jeffery, Benjamin, Garcon. I can also drop a bench RB (Mack or Breida) for one of those WRs.
we start: RB, RB, WR/TE, WR/TE, Flex (WR/TE/RB)
thanks
TFD
@The Fantasy Dick: Amen to that! I’d hold for now, lets see how that NE passing game adjusts.
Jay! Because I stink at math, I’m having trouble deciding if I should stick with a RB, WR then QB draft strategy. Based on the settings below, it’s obvious that WR’s are already valued less than RB’s. But because TD’s are equal across the board and the points per yardage is skewed away from the usual 10 yards per pt for RB’s/WR would you still stick with a RB or WR first? Or try to get Rodgers second round? Any input would help. Thanks man!
Passing Yards: 25 yards per point; 1.5 points at 300 yards; 2 points at 500 yards
Passing TDs: 4
Interceptions: -2
Rushing Yards 15 yards per point; 1.5 points at 100 yards; 2 points at 175 yards 10 yards per point
Rushing TDs: 4
Receiving Yards 20 yards per point; 1.5 points at 100 yards; 2 points at 200 yards 10 yards per point
Receiving TDs: 4
@Cram It: Ignore the “10 YARDS PER POINT” at the end of each (that’s the Yahoo default)
@Cram It: I think I’d still go RB this year, especially with the depth concerns. I might actually go RB-WR-RB or RB-RB-WR and see what QBs are out there.
@Jay: Right on. Thanks brah.
Happy Tuesday! Love your posts my man been reading for the past couple years!
.5 PPR league a league mate dropped Abdullah this AM, I don’t necessarily need Abdullah per say but depth wise I’d love it plus I’d rather have Abdullah then any of my opponents. I’d be dropping deangelo Henderson or my 2nd TE Evan Engram (my starter is hunter Henry- for now because I have no issues dropping him either once the season starts)
Or drop Henderson for Abdullah
then drop Engram for either : Markus Wheaton (cam Meredith is done), Braxton miller, Cooper Kupp, Travis Benjamin, Paul Richardson, Dede Westbrook, John Ross, josh Gordon in hopes he gets reinstated, Kenny galloday
— available RBs are turbin, foreman, Jonathan Williams, charcanderick west, or cuff my DJ with Chris Johnson, or cuff my Gordon with either Andre Williams or Oliver.
My RBs DJ, Gordon, mcaffery, hunt, Smallwood, Jamaal Williams, deangelo Henderson
My WRs alshon, martavis Bryant, d Parker, Marshall, snead, Maclin, hogan
I got the first horrible trade proposal I received this week. It had me sending Kareem hunt to receive eifert. Thing is that owner drafted 3 TEs & eifert is his worse TE- I’ll wait until he drops him lol!! His other TEs are kelce & Graham
Thanks man
@Larry legend: Hey Larry, thanks man. Yeah, and I hear ya, would love to make room for Ameer on all my teams. I’m fine on Henderson for him. And I’d say try Wheaton, see if he becomes that guy. And yup, pretty bad offer there, especially with Hunt being the big flavor right now.

@Bobby: I’d hold. I don’t like Perkins at all.
Have to ask what you think of my team in the take on Jay league.

@Allan: I think your RB2 is the weak spot, but there’s potential with Cook. I do like your WR.
Thoughts on the below offer..
I trade Dak and gore for amrie cooper?
I’m trying to make the trade fair as far as value goes, considering this is the first year doing fantasy for coopers current owner. He has Eli as his current starter so I think that Prescott would be an upgrade. He also owns Crowell and ty Montgomery and Robert Kelly, so I think gore would be a big step up from Crowell. Looking for a second opinion before I send the offer.
@Mike: I like it, but fan of Cooper.
what’s the juice on the projections of these now with the mcdonalds trade?
mcdonald/jesse james PIT
kittle/celek SF
@The Harrow: projections are done by Rudy, but I’d say nothing extravagant.
@Jay: this is for a 20 team redraft with 25 man rosters, so i’m having to rank shit loads of people (40ish TE). and since it’s got way more people than are ranked in most spots, AND fairly extensive IDP rosters, i’m having to merge rankings/projections/ADP’s into one big pot.
@The Harrow: ah, sounds like chore!
into the 2 round. 16 team PPR dynasty. have an offer of daily show for jj nelson, but i’m jam packed at WR as is (r.anderson is getting cut if/when everybody is healthy)
QB (1, max 2 active) palmer/flacco
RB (2, 5 max) dj/hyde/hightower/stewart/perine

LB (2, 3) freeman/burfict/ogletree/levy
DB (2,3) mathieu/barron (LB)/bucannon (LB)/addae
i could:
1. even though treadwell had higher prospect grades (barely) than m.williams he’s ranked about 20 WR spots higher in dynasty. could draft m.williams, stash till he’s back, later drop the worse of these 2 (really this would be deciding whether what treadwell’s done at that point is enough to keep or not)
2. drop hightower grab one of: jac rodgers, j.will (GB), mcfadden, foreman, j.will (SF), turbin. thinking there’s some chance jac rodgers remains starter.
3. grab my 7th minimum ARI player with dawson K (could very likely do this later though)
@Beware the Shit Rope: and r.anderson at WR. many of above are stashed (any flag in fantrax), don’t have to be cut unless/until they lose the flag and i intend on adding somebody new.
@Beware the Shit Rope: scratch that their prospect grades were
treadwell 6.25
m.williams 6.29
@Beware the Shit Rope: probably because of injury. I’d stash Williams whereever I can. I want Jamaal Williams over Rodgers. And 3 is whatever you think.
@Jay: i had the backwards, even with the injury m.will LAC is about 20 spots ahead of treadwell. i went williams.
@Beware the Shit Rope: ah, gotcha.
Hey Jay! Thoughts on my team? 14 team standard
Qb: Luck, Palmer
RB: Bell, miller, Martin, McFadden, perine
Wr: martavis Bryant, Watkins, maclin, Britt, Corey Davis
TE: gronk
Thanks a bunch!
@Jdubs: Luck seems like a good gamble here, and I’m digging the RBs, hard thing to say this year. Weak point are your WRs, but there’s some depth there and if Gronk is fine, you’ll be fine too.
Hey Jay,
In a 12 team, H2H, PPR, would you move Abdullah for Martavis?
My roster is:
QB – Mariota, Luck
HB – McCaffrey, Lamar Miller, Abdullah, Henry, Duke Jr.
WR – Green, Jordy, Allen Robinson, Parker, Coleman, Doctson
TE – Graham
I feel it is a toss up and Martavis would be good Allen Robinson insurance that would allow me to cut Doctson and add a guy like Jamaal Williams or Marlon Mack.
Thanks, bro!
@OldMilwaukeePounders: In your case, I wouldn’t. I think holding onto your RBs here for a bit is the right play. Your WRs seem great right now. I think adding Jamaal Williams is a good idea when you can though.
Is Elliot going to serve a suspension this year or what your thoughts ? If he doesn’t that is total BS since it really screwed with everyone’s draft. I personally dont think the NFL should have suspended him anyway kinda like double jeopardy if you ask me the DA wont charge him but Rodger will ..seriously. I didn’t draft him anywhere based on the reports but now I am hearing rumors that this could all get delayed. Just wanted to get your opinion on this circus ?
Thanks
@JP Morgan: I couldn’t even tell ya. 50/50, but recent news looks like he’ll keep on appealing and the NFL will try to hold firm.
There are some questionable actions by Zeke that cause me concern from a personal standpoint, but I think this wouldn’t be such a big deal if the NFL policy hadn’t been absolute trash since forever.
for all of us in fantasy, at least two games are being canceled in preseason, which is F’ing awesome.
@Montezuma’s Revenge… right now: so effectively it takes a large scale real life safety of humanity to get pretty messed up for NFL players to safely get to the season intact, or at least really ensure it.
– if fantasy was bigger than it is this could be a james bond-type villan plot: due to early drafts villan creates large superstorms that wipe out cities in order to protect his players from going out in worthless games.
@Montezuma’s Revenge… right now: woooo!
@Jay: nope only one, now watch m.thomas either float away to the ocean dead or tear something. or maybe we get lucky and only AP does.
Wouldn’t that be grand?
Somebody dropped Maclin (12 tm, non-ppr). Would you rather have Hogan or Maclin? Or do I keep Hogan and drop Matt Breida for Maclin? Both are for bench spots.
thanks
TFD
@The Fantasy Dick: Or do I stash a Mike Williams over Breida or Hogan? probably not a deep enough league to stash williams now tho
@The Fantasy Dick: Yeah, it’s iffy in 12-teams.
@The Fantasy Dick: I want Maclin there, but a shame you have to drop Hogan.
@Jay: I could drop Breida for Maclin, but my RBs are weaker than my WRs: (David Johnson, Dalvin Cook, Frank Gore, Marlon Mack, Breida) compared to (Benjamin, Jeffery, Garcon, Eifert, Hogan). I could drop Eifert since TEs are not required (they play as WRs). I have been burned by Maclin before tho…maybe I see how Hogan looks..I can always get Mike Williams or Zay Jones or someone off waivers early on….Thoughts on that logic? Or is Maclin a definite upgrade somewhere? thanks!
@The Fantasy Dick: We start: QB, RB, RB, WR/TE, WR/TE, Flex (RB/WR/TE). So I only have to start 2 WRs
@The Fantasy Dick: Yeah, holding on Breida is probably advisable with that roster combo.
Jay,
Just wondering why (for the 2017 draft rankings) that the QB list is in a little bit different order compared to looking at the QBs in the overall rankings. For example, in the QB ranks you have 6-Luck, 7-Cousins, 8-Winston; whereas in the overall (full PPR, for example) you have Winston, then Luck, then Cousins. Does the PPR or half PPR affect the QB order even though the QB scoring would be no different?
Thanks,
Jed
It’s happened before, we just don’t know why. I’ll go into again and fix, last time I did, seemed to work.
The order should not change, for sure. Thanks for the heads up!
@Jay:
Right on, thanks!
In the future, if I see that happening, would the positional rankings trump the overall rankings?
Thanks again.
Correct, and furthermore, from what you’ve said, STD rankings trump all as well, at least in terms of QB rankings.
QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, QB/RB/WR Flex. So basically 2Qb.
5 pt passing TD. PPR.
Need help deciding who to keep for second keeper. Two keepers. Lose the pick of the round attached. I will definitely keep ODB. Keepers continue on every year two round ahead of where they were drafted (ie ODB will be 7th round pick next year)
Pick 2.
ODB – 9th round
Derek Carr 7th round
Carson Wentz 13th round
Davante Adams 13th round.
I think you keep Wentz here. I would say Adams normally, but with the 5 pt passing TD and flex, the most value is there.
Jayyyyy, glad to be back & hope your ready for the season! Had my draft last night for my usual 10 team standard league (where I was crowned 1st last year behind David Johnson!)…I had 1st pick & went straight back to the well however I did disappoint myself by selecting Patriots (as a Jet fan)…but I know in the end, I can smile on Sunday when my team sucks but fantasy rules!
QB-Brady
RB-D Johnson & M Lynch
WR-Cooper/Watkins/Garcon
TE-Graham
Flex-A Abdullah
D&K- Pats/Lutz
Bench- R Kelley, Forte, Britt, Amendola, M Jones & Funchess
Similar to last season, I can see my WR core is my weakness but that did not stop me! Thoughts? Any handcuffs to keep in mind (although usually no room on rosters in 10 team)
@Nick: Nick! What’s up man. I love the team, the WR is probably the weakest point, but I love Cooper and think Watkins can still do okay with the Rams.
Jay,
Last thing. Lol…I heard a rumor that if/when the Redskins cut Matt Jones that the Eagles may pick him up after cutting Blount. Is Jones worth a flyer over Matt Breida? Prosise is also available, is he a better bench stash than Breida (non-ppr) or a potential Jones in Philly?
Thanks!
@The Fantasy Dick: Yeah, I like Jones a bit there if he goes, could be an interesting matchup.
Draft is done, and I have to say that I am pretty happy with my team. What do you think?
10-Team non-PPR, starting 2 RB, 2 WR, and one FLEX WR/RB/TE
QB: Cousins
WR: Julio Jones, AJ Green, Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, Donte Moncrief, John Brown
RB: Kareem Hunt, Crowell, CJ Anderson, Bilal Powell, Prosise, Jonathan Williams
TE: Ebron, Austin Hooper
I took a different strategy this year, kind of going no RB and punting the TE position as well. Do you think it hurt me too badly?
Thanks for your help.
@Oliver: Yeah, love the WRs you have here. RBs carry some weakness, but nothing too crazy. I do like Hooper there, and yeah, punting works in 10-teamers, for sure.
@Jay: Thanks a lot, Jay. You gents really helped me out this year, and I am very happy with the result. Now we’ll see how I feel in December.
Best of luck!
@Oliver: You too!
Out of these guys who are you dropping in a ppr league: Rex burkhead, malcolm Mitchell, Lacy, Sproles, Chris Carson. Need a kicker this week.
@Papa Jean Segura: Charson, I like Burkhead, Lacy, and Sproles in PPR specifically, so Mitchell and Carson are negotiable.
@Jay: Thanks dude. I kinda messed up my draft by taking like 8 RBs and 5 WRs and no kicker, so I have a lot of flier type guys. Also have Forte, McCaffrey, Ty Montgomery, and Melvin Gordon, so I’m probably looking to trade someone eventually. My receivers are Tyreek Hill, Golden Tate, Cooks, and Kenny Britt, and I got Cousins as my QB and Hunter Henry as my TE. Was just gonna stream whatever Defense was playing the Jets. I have only made the playoffs once in like 7 years so I hope your rankings helped me out this year. It’s a 12 teamer. Think my team is solid or needs some work?
@Papa Jean Segura: I think that’s okay… RB is just so terrible, I don’t think it’s too surprising. I think it’s solid, the WRs are a weaker point, but has a pretty nice ceiling.
Hey Jay what’s going on? Joined a league with guys from work 12 team league. Supposed to be standard, 20 mins before the draft he randomly changed it to ppr. Just wondering what you think of this team for a ppr league.
QB- Russell Wilson
WR- Dez Bryant, Martavis Bryant, Sammy Watkins, Willie Snead, Thielen, Moncreif
RB- Le’veon Bell, Fournette, Mixon
TE- Witten
D- JJ Watt, Ogletree
Streaming kickers and defense right now I have Hauschka and the ravens
Ebron is available do you think I should drop Witten for him? I was thinking of picking up Eli for when Wilson has a bye. Who should I drop for Eli? Or just leave it as it is?
@Clos: I like it in PPR. Bell and Bryant are fine there. Snead will be the guy here I think. Witten and Ebron are the same thing to me, I might switch just to break up the Dallas duo there.
Would u trade Darren McFadden for Joe Mixon?
@Dom: Hmm, yeah, I think I would.
super flex league dynasty with weaker rushing/receiving yards per point. 14 teamer. 15 rush/receiving per point, 25 passing per. standard otherwise (no PPR)
QB (1) palmer/goff/savage/hoyer
RB (2) gurley/hyde/coleman/woodhead
WR (2) aj green/cooks/dez/parker
TE walker

i got 12th in all rounds, pick three times. clearly i grab best RB in round 1, but should i go best WR/TE in 2 or QB? my guess is watson gone for sure, but mahomes might not be. i have 4 QB (which is good depth) but none of them are good ones, and savage could lose job at pretty much any time. i did luck out on hoyer getting a job.
@I don’t want to brag but i have irritable bowel syndrome: I think best WR there, you seem to be pretty set at QB.
Hey Jay hope you had a great off season.! Id like your opinion on my team please? 12 team PPR H2H.. 3 WR 2RB 1 TE & flex
Big Ben
Dez
Sammy Watkins
Garco
Ajayi
Crowell
Graham
McFadden
Eric Decker
Marlon Mack
Moncrief
Kevin Wjite
Kenny Stills ( accidental pick but always room to improve) unless you like him. lol
Torrey Smith
@Frank Lynch: You too! I like the team, a lot of potential here, but the bench is probably the only weak spot, which is okay. Normal tinkering will take care of that.
Just finished 12team ppr league
QB R Wilson
RB McCoy/Lynch/McFad/Stewart
WR Cooks/Baldwin/A Robinson/Tyrell Williams/Cory Davis
TE Eifert
Found some great values late, but forced my hand in other spots
K White and Rex Burkhead are available on waivers now. Do I drop anyone to scoop either one?
Thanks in advance
JRJ
@JohnRamboJr: Yeah, I like the team. In PPR, I’d probably want Burkhead, but I don’t see an obvious drop at the moment. Maybe Davis.
the big duke. 20 team redraft. full PPR. weird 2 CB’s 1 S IDP settings. in these i tend to really follow the projections (rudy’s, unless depth charts seem so behind as to nullify it). drafted out of the 15 slot. i’ll show byes after pick drafted so a guy at 15th overall with 8th round (15,8)
QB (start 1) stafford (95, 7), mccown (386, 11)
RB (2) gurley (15, 8, felt i had to go RB here, but projections defended it), west (66, 10), forte (135, 11), j.will GB (186, 8), j.will BUF (266, 6)
WR (3) hill (21, projections, 10), crabtree (55, 10), beasley (146, 6), kerley (215, 11), a.stewart (346, 11), humphries (426, 11)
TE (1) ertz (106, 10), miller (375, 9)
flex (1)
K folk (495, 11)
DEF IND (466, 11)
IDP flex hicks LB (295, 10)
LB (2) ogletree (175, 8), s.lee (226, 6)
S (1) burnett (246, 8)
CB (2) breeland (415, 5), worley (455, 11)
DE (1) dunlap (306, 6)
DT (1) buckner (335, 11)
so due to trusting the rater i took hill over all of these (which seemed crazy at the time, but i knew i wouldn’t get hill (WR 5) on the way back, and got crabtree anyway (WR 20)): hopkins/cooks/hilton/DT/adams/pryor/jeffery (almost got adams on way back albeit rater has crabtree higher than cooper and adams). it will suck if none of GB/BUF RB situations work out, and forte keeps being hurt. in leagues like this you pretty much always end up with guys like beasley/west. intended on punting DEF after PIT/TB left but figured i could get SD/LAC later, then a guy grabs 2nd DEF in 23rd round so i streamed IND @ LAR (how bad could that be really). more D’s will show up when autopickers drop their 2nd D (but not good ones of course). eventually i’ll need to drop either humpriese or mccown for a IDP backup spot.
@Eli Man Penguin Boy: only thing about these 20’s with deepish IDP’s, i always exit them realizing i didn’t leverage my opp’s (some of them) lack of knowledge on IDP’s drafting. for instance here, i could’ve had better depth WR and still ended up with similar IDP values. as you know (this year) from your comparing your own IDP rankings to FP’s, i got 2 top 10 LB, another top 15 ish one, 1 top 5 S, a top 3 DT, a top 5 DE, 2 top 4 CB, and only in the case of CB did i pay little to nothing for those. i probably could’ve gotten similar in DE, 2nd LB, S, to get better WR than stewart/humphries, such as one of samuel/ross/austin/dorsett/eli rogers/fuller instead of humphries
@Eli Man Penguin Boy: Yeah, makes sense, still learning about IDP stuff in general, especially the drafting portion.
@Jay: in RCL type drafting IDP you can mostly wait till late rounds and probably do fine (3 total IDP, 1 per position type)
@Eli Man Penguin Boy: Yeah, each one has their own personality it seems.
@Eli Man Penguin Boy: and yep, luck still around when i took staff at 95th, i stopped and looked at it, and in a 20 i don’t think it’s even arguable (i had to take a worthwhile QB pretty much there); one guy might not be usable for god knows how long (i’ll guess luck comes back useful in week 4 earliest). that KILLS you in a 20. i say that being the guy who drafted l.bell in this league last year at pick 19 or 20 (and did very well). l.bell of course wasn’t an unknown amount injured missing 3 weeks. luck’s whole season might end up like QB 16 realm here.
@Eli Man Penguin Boy: Agreed. I think I took Luck really late in the Writers Draft, something like round 12. Figure what’s the worst that could happen at that pick, pretty much nothing.
@Eli Man Penguin Boy: Yeah, from that draft placement, I would have gone for him too. I think one of those should though, which could be enough. I think Adams is the safest bet to work out. And a McCown drop never hurt anyone.
here we go, in case anybody has any inkling of thinking GODdell doesn’t pull his draculonian b.s.
“The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Clarence Hill reports NFL lead investigator Kia Roberts recommended no suspension for Ezekiel Elliott.
It is notable because Roberts says she is the only NFL official who interviewed Elliott’s accuser, and her recommendation was omitted from the NFL’s report. Hill also reports Roberts was barred from a meeting discussing potential discipline, something the NFLPA believes was a serious flaw in the discipline process. She did testify during the appeals hearing, and her testimony among other things “improved” the likelihood Elliott’s suspension is reduced or even overturned, according to Hill. Appeals officer Harold Henderson is reportedly “under pressure” to reach his decision by Monday, so hopefully we will know Zeke’s fate in the next several days.”
first off, how does this stuff get leaked (my guess is this kia roberts is being fired and is now willing to say what’s real). so the one person who was in charge of finding any evidence at all about the so called “witness” to it (and since there wasn’t enough evidence for real life courts to even charge it this seems significant) thinks:
1. there wasn’t enough evidence
2. a suspension wasn’t even in order (due to #1, EVEN with the garbage NFLPA agreement)
and most suspiciously
3. not ALLOWED in the meeting even though the ONLY person to have done interviews with the “witness”
pretty clear this is just GODdell doing GODdell-like shit. in fact, any testimony used in the appeals process being “omitted” from the NFL’s report in this regard proves this, particularly whe it’s the lone interviewer of the supposed witness. anybody that’s followed anything GODdell has done shouldn’t find this particularly newsworthy, the part that IS newsworthy is just why/who leaked this now, and why now.
@The Harrow: Yeah, she’s for sure the prime leaker here, not that it matters. It adds an interesting angle, for sure. But I’m still not prepared to absolve Zeke for everything. There’s still questionable points on his end too. I think my overall conclusion is that the NFL policy needs to have clarity and not be such a jumbled mess if they expect anybody to have faith in it.

in a few days gotta drop somebody for a kicker, my guess is this is j-will BUF, meanwhile somebody dropped mart bryant. who’s my drop for him? probably one of the whites or j-will GB, but i’d think upside bigger if say GB were to figure out that an offense with rodgers running it might be better off with you know, a RB playing RB who can block.
@Blind umps have rights too (seriously their union is that strong): I think it is j-will from Buf, and I do want Bryant there. I’d say for White in that case.
Thoughts on my team? Thanks!

This league you get to keep two players for three seasons drafted past the 4th round. So roughly 23 players were off the board before the draft started.
I kept DeVante Parker and had the 2nd pick overall.
2 – Le’Veon Bell, Pit RB
23 -Aaron Rodgers, GB QB
26 – Carlos Hyde, SF RB
47 – Tyreek Hill, KC WR
50 – Jordan Reed, Wsh TE
71 – Emmanuel Sanders, Den WR
74 – Martavis Bryant, Pit WR
95 – Thomas Rawls, Sea RB
98 – Marcus Mariota, Ten QB
119 – Giovani Bernard, Cin RB
122 – Chris Hogan, NE WR
143 – Darren Sproles, Phi RB
146 – Jaguars D/ST D/ST
167 – Cairo Santos, KC K
170 – DeVante Parker, Mia WR
@Playadlc: Hmm, I dig it. Aaron Rodgers maybe a little high, but elite QBs… this strat is negotiable for me, so not terrible at all. Otherwise, a lot of floor guys, which is safe. I like Rawls late there, and Parker too. Bell is the true equalizer here.
@Jay:
What do you think of me packaging Rodgers and Bryant for AJ Green and rolling with Mariotta as my QB?
Great stuff as always Jay!
I have two supplemental picks to fill out my roster in my 12 team, keep 3 forever, PPR league. Which two players would you scoop up out of this group?
– Kevin White
– R. Burkhead
– Robby Anderson
– Ebron
– Smallwood
– Chris Carson
– Sterling Shepard
– Kupp
– Doctson
– J. Allen (Bal)
– D. Washington (oak)
Thanks much! Keep up the great work!
@GregJeffries: Thanks man! I’d probably keep Burkhead and Smallwood out of these choices. They don’t wow, but I like Burkhead’s value in PPR leagues, and Smallwood could do some things this year in Philly.
Hey Jay,
Hope you are having a good summer! I just finished a draft yesterday, in ppr (1 point per every 5 rec, 1 point for every 5 carries) and I was hoping to get your opinion on my team.

@Mel: Hey Mel, I am, hope you are too! Team looks familiar, but I could be just going crazy. I love the WRs, I still believe in Robinson as a WR2, Olsen is still over Kelce for me in PPR, and while there’s some worry with your RBs, I think you have enough there.
I did play in this league last season, and had Antonio Brown as my keeper, and I asked you for some advice then as well, which really helped me out a lot by the way, so maybe that’s why it looks familiar. I value your opinion and thanks again so much. I just had a couple more quick questions. Is it worth starting Kareem Hunt vs the Patriots? And what is your opinion on Devante Parker? I was thinking about trading for him and offering Darren McFadden.
@Mel: great to read! I like both, and I wouldn’t mind putting McFadden out there.
Cool. Thanks again for the advice. Look forward to reading your columns, and I hope you have a good fantasy football season!
Thanks!
12 Team Standard Yahoo League
QB: Mariota/Wentz
RB: Gordon/Crowell/Kareem Hunt/Abdullah/Mack
WR: Odell/Pryor/Diggs/D. Parker/Hogan
TE: Ebron
K: Janikowski
D: Vikings
How is the squad? I was awarded the 2nd hardest schedule… I have a terrible matchup week 1 with most my RBs and D. Will go Odell and Pryor (unsure about WSH offense though). I will probably drop Wentz (try to pick him up later) for a 2nd D. Should I grab Falcons/Chargers/ or Jaguars to stream for week 1? Sorry. Asked a bunch of ?s
@Michael Johnson: I think it’s a strong team. Love Diggs at your wr3, and I think the Chargers defense could surprise.
12 team. Full point PPR. Starting Pryor. Go with Mixon or Crowder at flex?
Crowder I think.
Hey Jay new time reader and wanted to see if you could take a peak at my roster and give me your opinion.
QB: Marcus Mariota
RB1: Le’Veon Bell
RB2: Todd Gurley
WR1: Michael Thomas
WR2: DeAndre Hopkins
TE: Tyler Eifert
Flex: Sammy Waktins
D: Texans
K: Dan Bailey
Bench: CJ Anderson, Allen Robinson, LeGarrette Blount, Kirk Cousins, CJ Prosise, Coby Fleener, Tyrod Taylor.
Our my concerns for Eifert warranted? Will Waktins be able to perform with Goff? Cousins or Mariota? And will Blount get good enough field time or will they give a lot to Sproles with it being his last season.
Thanks man,
I dig it… love the RB combo there and I think the WRs are good enough to make some noise. The bench is pretty outrageous, but no need to carry three QBs. Eifert will be who he is, middling I think. Watkins will be okay, and I’d say Mariota, but it’s close. Who knows with Blount, but keeping him on the bench is fine.
Jay,
I have a draft tonight and am picking 3rd. I tend to lean on RB early just because they get scooped up much quicker, but Antonio Brown is probably the safer choice between he and Shady (since Zeke’s situation is unclear).
Can you explain why you’re not as concerned with Shady’s older RB age and all of the bad vibes the Bills front office has been spreading lately?
Thanks!
