Another above average week (that’s what she said), but we haven’t had a finish this year, besides Week 1, that really shifted the numbers up. From what the accuracy breakdown shows, we’re still have some trouble gauging running backs (and to a lesser extent, DSTs), but getting a better ranking for quarterbacks is another goal, something that wasn’t a worry just a few weeks ago. Our IDP results are pretty strong I’d have to say, this being the first year I’ve specifically provided those, and I’m sure now knowing who Yannick Ngakoue is will benefit my life in some manner or form.
The overall trends are still looking okay, and we’re moving up gradually back nearer to the top-20’s where I generally assume these rankings will separate our community results from other sites. While there’s still a lot of football left, the fantasy playoffs are drawing closer and closer and we should all have a sense of whether or not we have a team that can move forward. With that said, our Week 7 Rankings for Standard, Half-PPR, PPR and IDP leagues are right after the jump! (And our Rest of Season rankings have been updated and can be found here!)
Already starting Chris Hogan in PPR, and I have an opportunity to acquire Amendola for Darkwa (riding my bench), and start Amendola in my flex.
Do I make that trade or just roll with Doug Martin in the flex instead?
@976: I’d roll with the hamster.
I’m struggling on who the odd man out here is for 1 RB/1 WR/1 Flex. Ty Montgomery/A Jones/Watkins/Ginn.
Watkins is pissing me off all to hell, but he’s tough to sit with what he could do. I don’t love starting two RB’s on the same team either. I have Cohen and Fowler for slight consideration as well but they’re riskier. Am I just splitting hairs or do you like a particular combination? Thanks.
@Cram It: Yeah, tough one. I’d probably leave Watkins out even though you’re doubling up. He hasn’t shown much so far, but double check as the rankings get closer to game time.
@Jay: Always do! Thanks.
Yo dude
I have been debating between R.Wilson and A.Smith all week. Most rankings have them very close and most people I have been talking to about it prefer Smith.
Why do you think Wilson will be that much better?
@The discarded head of Ted Williams: I’m expecting him to get the edge off the ground.
@Jay: Grumble…
Happy Thursday jam master Jay!!
.5 PPR league would you look to pull any of these deals this week?
1.) trade either tyreek hill (hill plays tonight & the Ertz owner hasn’t responded to the trade so rule out hill), hogan or will fuller to acquire zach Ertz. This will give me a solid TE, and in return it’ll give Ertz owner WR depth that he needs, he lost OBJ & his sanders is out this week. But I sent him offers of fuller & the other one with hill to get Ertz he hasn’t rejected or accepted just sitting in limbo- I sent those out early Wednesday AM. I’m going on the premise he doesn’t want to deal Ertz. Unless should I up it to hogan?
2.) regardless if I get Ertz or not, it’s looking like not. Deal my mcaffery to get brandin cooks? If I don’t get Cooks who are examples of top line WRs to target by dealing my mcaffery; Hilton? Although I don’t like that luck may be shut down, Crabtree? Demaryius Thomas? Larry Fitzgerald? I’d say AJ green but I feel like It would have to be CMC + hogan or CMC + Keenan Allen. But I’m not dealing with the green owner it’ll be the rich getting richer, he has the best team his RBs are gurley, Lamar Miller, zeke Elliot, gore. His WRs Jordy, green , desean Jackson, he has both Jordan Reed & hunter Henry. I sent him minor trade offers around week 2 when Reed was iffy for that MNF game I had Vernon Davis- I offered him Davis for his moncrief or Watkins . He couldn’t have rejected it faster lol. Needless to say Reed was out that week & he didn’t have a TE lol
3.) what’s a good sell high on hogan this is if I get Cooks? I know he had a bad week 6 but he’s been steady. I received an offer this AM I deal hogan & I get graham & Cooper cupp. I’m not a fan of cupp he also has Hilton, Wallace, AB, , marqise lee. I think he’s looking for a deal he’s rostering 3 TEs; kelce, graham & ASJ lol!
4.) what about this scenario, deal CMC for Cooks, then flip my fuller to receive chris Thompson?
5.) if I don’t acquire a TE I’ll continue streaming, I streamed AJ Derby last week yuck. This week thinking of Tyler kroft or kittles
My RBs Gordon, hunt, mcaffery, Adrian Peterson, McKinnon, Smallwood, chark west and Aaron jones
My WRs we start 3 could be 4 with flex. Keenan Allen, doug Baldwin, hogan, Parker, will fuller, tyreek hill, mike Williams
My TE kroft
Thanks man
@Dwight schrute: Thanks man, same to you!
1 – I’d try Fuller.
2 – Yeah, I like the example of Cooks there being a goal in this type of trade. Stud WRs aren’t worth as much as top-tier RBs, so there should be some room to negotiate there with McCaffrey. I’d aim that high down to someone like Baldwin as my basement. Even then, it’s pushing it.
3 – I like that Graham deal there, it feels right value wise.
4 – I dig it.
5 – Probably Kroft, but double check with me before Sunday if you can. My rankings change a bit as we get closer to Sunday and I have more data.
Hi, Jay, thanks for the rankings, always good to read them. Can you share your rationale on why Amari Cooper is so high on everyone’s list this week? I just don’t see any legitimate reasons why anyone should be starting him at this point — I know he’s got the talent, and people seem to think he’ll finally bust out this week, but why do people feel this way?
@Matt: I still like him, and besides Collins, I’m not big on the Giants defense.
@Jay: You mean the Chiefs defense. Just want to make sure you’re referencing the right question here.
Why Wilson over Smith? I reckon Smith is playing Thursday, but NYG is a better defense than OAK, no? (I own both and I’m debating whether to start Smith tonight despite my usual reticence about starting Thursday night players in anything but a can’t miss matchup.)
@Not your average Joe: yeah, I’m close on them. I like Wilson to make up that difference on the ground.
What kind of chance would you put on D. Murray getting little work this week to rest the hammy, and D. Henry taking 75+% of the load against the Browns? Enough to play Henry over SefarianJenkins in a PPR? Could see Henry easily hitting 100/1 this week if he gets the run….
@kingforaday151: probably not.
12 team standard, here’s the weekly “Is Amari worth betting on ROS?” question:
My RBs are not very usable at the moment – Martin, A. Jones, Mack, Collins, Morris, Charles
WRs – AB, Dez, Sanders, Cobb, Kearse
Got offered Amari/CJA for Dez…does this help my team or shift the hole to another position?
@Brett: I think it just shifts. Love Amari, but would rather have Dez here
Im being offered Jeffery and Pryor for Diggs. What do you think?
@Jay
Or the guy wants Kennan Allen and Mack for Cooks.
@Fizz: yeah, I’d grab Diggs, don’t like the second deal.
Jay, I noticed Sterling Shepard isn’t ranked.
Also, I need help making basic decisions… :( I’m 6-0 and planning ahead for playoffs. But I’m having a hard time letting go of guys with pedigree like Jordan Reed or Seahawks DEF.
Cam/Wentz
Hunt/Howard/Hamster/Mixon/Henry
Diggs/Funchess/Fuller/Davis
Graham/Reed
Seahawks D (for this week), Ravens D (for ROS, esp playoffs)
On Waivers: Mack, Smokey, Shep, Foreman, Prosise
1) Would you drop Seahawks to secure Mack now and just roll with Ravens @MIN this week?
2) If Diggs can’t go, would you drop Reed for Smokey (or Shep)?
Thanks in advance. The bye weeks struggle is real.
@James: That’s weird, I’ll take a look in a few when I get in front of a comp and figure that one out. Yeah, I think that’s a good idea on 1. Naw, I’d hold there and try to make due with that I had.
@James: Yeah, thanks for the heads up, just an oversight on my part. He’s in now! (WR 23 I believe)
@Jay: Sweet, appreciate all of it.
Hey Jay need an RB2 and a Flex in a ppr out of J. Stewart, Cohen, Gallman, Aaron Jones, Amari Cooper, Cooper Kupp, and Jaron Brown. Leaning Cohen or Jones at RB2 with Amari in the flex. What you think?
@Allan: I like Jones and Amari, but Cohen is really close, I’m totally not opposed to it,.
Always appreciated Jay.
For my PPR flex spot, pick 2 RB and 1 Flex:
James White, Chris Thompson, Jordan Howard, Cooper Kupp, Joe Mixon, Marlon Mack
Thanks!
@Noam Levenson: Of course! Thinking Thompson, Mixon, and Howard. Hate to go all RB, but I think Thompson holds it together.
Where do you put Funchess if Benjamin is out? Deciding between him and Jordy.
@eggman: I think if Benjamin is out, that puts Funchess right behind Jordy, but probably not enough to get him over the hump.
WHich side would you rather have? Cooks and Pryor or K. Allen and Mack
@Jay
Is it better to ask for Jeffrey over pryor?
@Fizz: I think they’re in the same place right now. I do like Pryor just a tad bit more.
@Fizz: Cooks and Pryor.
Have an extra wr. What do you think of offering K. Benjamin and D. Adams for M. Thomas? Fair or not enough?
@SR: I’d try it, but probably not enough. I think it is fair though.
Hey, Jay. Lions or Texans d ros? Both were dropped due to byes this week. Thanks!
@Herry: I’d say Lions.
Offered D Foreman and Luck for my Rob Kelley in a 16 teamer std
Thinking upside of Foreman might be worth it ?
@Nightpandas: Yeah, I think so.
Whaddup Jay! In my 12 to keeper league I’m trying to gauge DeShaun Watson value next year. I’ve gotten lots of interest in offers. The way my league is setup we keep guys by the numbers of years in the NFL. So Watson has even more value since he’s only costing 1 year to keep. Worst place gets 10 years to fill Champion gets 5. I’m next to last not quite out of it but injuries have decimated my squad. Just trying to get your thoughts on what Watson could be going forward.
@Randall Cunningham: Sup! I think in that format, he’s a top-10 guy for sure. I could see him going for WR2’s, RB2’s… depending on what needs you have, you could build some depth if someone else believes in him. I do.
So Dion Lewis over Mack in standard?
Do you think Prosise can finish the year as Seattle’s best back? Or should I waive him for Smallwood since someone just dropped him?
thanks
TFD
@The Fantasy Dick: smallwood over prosise. oh how fast everybody forgets about mckissic, the awful SEA line, and rawls/lacy. d.lewis appears to be back out of the 1.5 year season-games doghouse of hoodie. probably him over mack, but if it’s an upside play probably hold mack.
Yeah, but there’s always been trust issues there. I think Smallwood brings you more now, but later in the season, could be a different story.
.2 PPR . 3 RB start and 3 WR start with 2 flexes (can be TE).
RB mccoy/howard/montgomery/mack/lat murray/rawls
WR jordy/julio/jeffery/wright/hurns/fuller
TE ertz/cook/dickson
drop who for smallwood? forgot to mention we have a RB 6 total cap, and WR 6 total cap, so any new WR (hurns for decker works) or RB needs to remove a like position. it’s only reason i even have 3 TE’s. if i could i’d have at most 2 TE, 7 RB or WR. also have 3 QB’s (brissett/dak/hundley, COULD nab bridgewater)
For Hurns is a good idea. And I feel ya on the TE stuff.
@Jay: this was asked in previous post, your idea was the hurns for decker. hold or drop a RB for smallwood? i had forgotten the first time to mention the RB 6 and WR 6 caps.
@I got $100 for groceries, $1400 for liquor and $6,000 for you to bail a couple of shit puppets out of jail: Yeah, if that’s the case, then I think Decker for the WR depth here takes priority.
was that seriously KC’s 5th out of 7 weeks in one of the 3 prime time games (technically the first monday of the year had 2 making 4 that week). but if i’m right that still makes 5/22 (22.7%) of the games, and now i’m seeing KC gets week 8 monday game too (24%). so who’s D is getting sucked here exactly?
@I got $100 for groceries, $1400 for liquor and $6,000 for you to bail a couple of shit puppets out of jail: I don’t want to think those thoughts when it involves Andy Reid!
Jay,
Wondering what your thoughts are on my Zeke…I got offered DJax and Montgomery for him in a 16 teamer…I do have Morris as well
Standard non keeper
@Nightpandas: man, still seems awfully low. I’d probably hold and hope for the best.
Give Marvin Jones and Frank Gore to get Thielen?
2 flex half ppr current flex roster is:
RB – Todd Gurley
RB – Carlos Hyde
WR – Antonio Brown
WR – Keenan Allen
TE – Brate
Flex – Cobb
Flex – Rishard Matthews
BE – Jordan Reed
BE – Frank Gore
BE – Gillislee
BE – Starvin Marvin
BE – Sterling Shep
BE – Marlon Mack
I could easily see Mack taking over by the end of the year, Haven’t used Jones once this year and personally hold out some belief for Golladay (who I could pick up) and I think Thielen would be a lock as a flex.
What are your thoughts? Open for other ideas of who to trade and/or target. Currently 6-0 so no desperation to shake things up just want to consolidate some ok players for some good ones, if possible.
@LeggoPens: Also have Deshaun Watson and Dak. Thinking sell high on deshaun, or hold? If sell, what’s a reasonable target?
PS I LOVE DAK <3
@LeggoPens: probably hold there. Gore does at least provide stability, but I agree on Mack.
Lose Ellington for Prosise as a bench stash? Thanks
@Eg: yeah, that’s fine.
Is Wentz vs. Cousins basically a coin flip? I can’t decide one way or the other.
Also, got any problem with starting Diggs (assuming he plays) over Keenan Allen (who is going up against a very tough Denver secondary)?
@Scott: Cousins there, but close enough. And no, Diggs there.
