What are you ranking? Everything! You get a ranking, you get a ranking, everybody gets a ranking! You’ll find my Standard, Half-PPR, and PPR rankings below.

What are my rankings bona fidas? Well, there’s finishing in the FantasyPros Top-10 Draft Accuracy (7th Place) in 2017, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy (23rd Place) in 2017, Top-5 Draft Accuracy (3rd place) in 2016, Top-10 Weekly Accuracy (10th Place) in 2016, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy in 2015 (21st Place) and on average we’ve finished in the Top-10 Draft Accuracy (9th Overall) and the Top-20 Weekly Accuracy (18th Overall) for the past four years and finished 30th overall for our Draft Rankings with a 32nd overall finish in Weekly just last season. And this is out of over 100+ industry sites and experts year-after-year. I’d like to think we’re pretty good at this stuff…

What does the word bona fidas mean? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, bo·na fi·des ˌbō-nə-ˈfī-ˌdēz , ÷ˈbō-nə-ˌfīdz means 1 : good faith : sincerity, 2 : the fact of being genuine —often plural in construction, 3 : evidence of one’s good faith or genuineness —often plural in construction, 4 : evidence of one’s qualifications or achievements —often plural in construction. On a separate note, I think it would make a great name for a cat.

What’s my ranking process? I’ve actually written about this in the past, and instead of working hard for new and enlightening content, I have chosen the more efficient (lazy, ahem) method and dropping in a link to that post here. Honestly, my process hasn’t changed much at all (the ole “don’t fix what ain’t broke” proverb comes to mind) and so my “A Day in the Life of a Fantasy Football Ranker” story still remains relevant to this day. (The TL;DR is: I’m lazy as fudge. Well, I mean the other “f” word, but I’m hungry.)

How should I use your rankings? The same way your mother does. Which actually makes no sense. (Unless your mother is in the running to always finish top-3 in your Fantasy Football league. And if that’s the case, say hello to her for me.)

Yeah, seems to be a pretty solid team. The WR seems okay, like the RB depth, I’m pretty good with this team. I think you did well with your 2QB strat here too.

Thanks Nick, good to see you again!

And yeah, out of these names, I like Brown and Goedert at their respective positions. I’m less enthused about Wilson and Enunwa, I think you know exactly what your going to get.

      • Nick says:
        (link)

RB Pollard and Hill are getting some hype …

WR Jakoby Meyers in NE as well, maybe Hurd

AND now ,, THE CHACK , to backup Westbrook …

Malcom Brown is ready to be added as Gurley’s knee insurance ,,, for Boswell K if it’s OK

i’d like a WR to complete the team… who and over who? Keesean?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

In this case, Meyers might fit the bill, but not completely sold.

How much different would your rankings be in a dynasty draft? Do you put much more preference on the younger players or would your valuations stay relatively the same?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

In terms of dynasty, yes, you’re correct, there would some inflation with younger players, and some deflation with players who have a history of injury, but I think the types of huge swings you see in dynasty leagues align better with other sports like baseball. I think if you are strictly looking at a three year window (I suggest five in baseball), the rankings don’t wildly change. I think a premium pick now will still hold close value two years after in an injury-free vacuum.

    16 team dynasty ppr. 1 qb, 2 wr, 2 rb, 2 wr/rb/te flex, 1 te.

    Have Deshaun, big ben, brissett
Leveon, conner, hyde, Duke, cja, darwin Thompson, james white
Julio, tyreek, alshon, gabriel, demarcus robinson
    Trey burton, eifert, waller

About to pick in draft. End of 5th so most impact rookies are gone. I’m looking at trent taylor, kumerow, beebe, pringle, shaheen, Emmanuel butler, dillon mitchell, Gary Jennings, Karan higdon, myles gaskin

Who are your top 5 or so from that group?

    Thanks jay

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I kinda like the way you ordered it? I might move Gaskin up a bit, maybe Beebe lower. Pringle just makes me hungry for chips.

Top of the morning jam master Jay, love your insights from the previous seasons & looking forward to this year!

Draft is next week & its .5 ppr & its a keeper we can keep max 2 players & keeper setting is rounds 1 & 2 are dedicated for keepers & snake starts round 3.

My options: David Johnson, Joe mixon, Melvin Gordon, Deshaun Watson.

Or would you trade my mixon to get Kerryon Johnson plus a pick, however since everyone has to have the same picks I need to include a pick too. If I did that I’d be looking to keep DJ & kerryon, plus having an extra pick is enticing too

When the snake starts I’m pick 9 out of 10, do I settle best WR or if a Dalvin cook or David Montgomery are there do I take them? I want OBJ, or juju but looking unlikely based on where I am

    • Jay

      Jay says:

      Thanks man!

Yeah, if you are upgrading picks, I think that’s fine. I do like Johnson, Mixon and Gordon there, but if you want to flip a RB for something more, you have the strength to do it. You have first world problems here, amazing riches.

    Hey Jay

In a standard league, 12 team keep 3 my keepers are Kamara Gurley Thomas . Would you trade Thomas and Theilen (not keeping) for Tyreek Hill or not bother?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I don’t mind it, since it looks like you aren’t keeping Theilen and in return, get to upgrade that position. I’m fine with it as it is, but won’t be worried if it’s a no.

  9. Ben W says:

    Jay,

In a keeper league (12 team snake. 0.5 per) I won the right to select my draft position. Naturally taking the 1 pick seems to be logical for one of the top RBs. But lately I’ve been wanting to take the 9th or 10th pick. Getting a Gurley or a top WR looks good too. My keepers are JuJu in Round 3 and Baker Mayfield in Round 15. Only Alvin Kamara of the top players is a keeper for someone else

If you could select any draft position what would it be this year?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I’m actually okay being in the back of the pack this season. I’ve always preferred landing somewhere in the middle, being on the ends of the draft are just so wonky. If you can trade that pick to get some value, might be worth doing.

  10. Justin says:

hey Jay, im in a 2 QB league with half PPR.

    i drafted the below team:

    Yo Jay!

Always appreciate your ranks man, getting ready to draft in a couple leagues Sunday.

Keeper Q – would you rather keep Beckham Jr for $22 or Nick Chubb for $11?

It’s a standard 12-team PPR and every year their price would go up by $5. I was leaning Beckham with Baker but a lot of people are pretty high on Chubb. My other keeper is Kamara.

    Thx for any advice dude
