2024 Fantasy Football Wide Receivers – Bold Predictions

  • Player: AJ Brown
  • Team: Philadelphia Eagles
  • Current ECR Rank (as of this writing): WR6 (My Rank WR6)

Of all WRs not currently ranked in the Top 5, I think AJ Brown has the best opportunity to crack the Top 4.  Justin Jefferson is possibly the best WR in the game but has Sam Darnold as his (current) QB1.  Ja’Marr Chase is one Joe Burrow injury from relying on Jake Browning as his QB1.  Give me AJ Brown to not sleep through 5-7 games again like he did in 2023.  Nobody is quite sure if he was pissed at Jalen Hurts, or if he was dinged, or if there was another issue.  What we do know is the Eagles disappointed after being a juggernaut.  I think AJ Brown goes off and only needs a slight assist to ascend into the Top 4.

  • Player: DK Metcalf + Jaxon Smith-Njigba > Nico Collins + Stefon Diggs
  • Team: Seattle Seahawks
  • Current ECR Rank (as of this writing): WR16 & 46 (My Rank WR20 & 37)

Enter Ryan Grubb as the new OC for Seattle.  His collegiate offense was one that can and should translate to the pro game.  DK is due being undervalued and JSN should also be higher than his current ECR.  I think the latter makes a big jump during his sophomore season while Stefon Diggs takes another small step backwards.  The key to this for your upcoming drafts is you can get DK in Round 4 versus Round 2 for Nico and JSN in Round 7-8 versus Diggs in 3-4.  Give me the discount and let’s ride this bold prediction to the bank!

  • Player: Brian Thomas Jr. + Xavier Worthy > Malik Nabers + Rome Odunze
  • Team: Jacksonville Jaguars & Kansas City Chiefs
  • Current ECR Rank (as of this writing): WR47 & 39 (My Ranks WR41 & 40)

Two more fantasy draft day discounts!  Allow others to pay a premium for Nabers (Round 3) and probably overpay for Odunze (Round 6) while you wait a little longer to nab both Thomas and Worthy.  I have Thomas as the WR to lead all rookie WR in TDs and Worthy will benefit from an early season injury to Hollywood Brown.  You can ignore JuJu Smith-Schuster addition.  He will not make a difference for Worthy.  Nabers has Daniel Jones and an awful OL, and though I love the player, I am not ecstatic about his situation for this season.  Odunze’s skills are undeniable, but the Bears just paid Keenan Allen $18.1M plus $5M.  That $23M means Allen will see his share of targets.  We already know DJ Moore is a target hog and D’Andre Swift will get his.  That leaves a lesser amount for Odunze, so I am fading him ever so slightly.
