Last week, we discussed key players like Drake London, DeVonta Smith, Tyjae Spears, Keenan Allen, and Chris Olave. If you want to read part one, you can find it here.

Up next, we filter through NFL free agency and break down how some of the key free agents will impact our rankings. If you want to see the top free agents for fantasy football, check out our article by Jeff here.

The Impact of NFL Coaching Changes

  • Player: Rhamondre Stevenson
  • Team: New England Patriots
  • Overall Ranking: 58 (ECR 55)

This off-season, the Patriots shook things up by bringing in former Browns Offensive Coordinator Alex Van Pelt. Van Pelt ran run-first offenses pretty much every year in Cleveland, featuring Nick Chubb as his foundational runner. Between 2020-2022, Chubb has averaged a 17-game pace of 316 opportunities per year!

  • Player: Brian Robinson
  • Team: Washington Commanders
  • Overall Ranking: 71 (ECR 93)

Kliff Kingsbury isn’t known for the run game after coming out of the college ranks using the air raid system. However, what Kingsbury did do was use a 3-down back for most of his time in Arizona. First, it was Kenyon Drake who saw 270 opportunities in 15 games in 2020 then halfway through 2021, James Conner took over that role. In 2022, Conner saw 241 opportunities in just 13 games.

  • Player: Chris Godwin
  • Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Overall Ranking: 78 (ECR 64)

We are still waiting to see what happens with Mike Evans this off-season, but the news of Liam Coen coming in is great for Chris Godwin. Coen has already stated he wants to move Godwin back inside to the slot this season which should be a boost to his PPR value. Coen comes from the Rams scheme that featured Cooper Kupp on the inside. This should help Godwin bounce back in 2024.

  • Player: Cole Kmet
  • Team: Chicago Bears
  • Overall Ranking: 100 (ECR 130)

Cole Kmet has done a great job emerging as a legit TE1 in a run-first scheme that has struggled at times during his career. In 2024, he should see an upgrade in scheme from new Offensive Coordinator Shane Waldron. Waldron featured the tight end position in 2022 as the Seahawks targeted the position the fifth most in the NFL. With the Bears having limited weapons in the passing game behind D.J. Moore, Kmet should emerge as the No. 2 again next season.
