The NFL’s dramatic coaching carousel is over with Kellen Moore signing in New Orleans. After eight head coaching changes last season, we will see seven new coaches for the 2025 season. When we have regime changes, expect some personnel changes. I am putting on my wizard hat to predict the future of the off-season, similar to last season.

The 2025 salary cap is expected to increase by $10 million, so many teams will have the luxury of making moves, while some teams need to be strategic in balancing the books. Teams with the most available cap space in order are the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Green Bay Packers. Teams with the least amount in order are the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins, and Atlanta Falcons.

Free Agents

  • Player: Tee Higgins
  • 2025 Team: Cincinnati Bengals

Fantasy Impact – As much as I would love a Trevor Lawrence reunion down in Jacksonville, I can’t see the Cincinnati brass allowing him to walk. Joe Burrow recently made his public plea to the front office to keep Higgins and resign JaMar Chase. The Bengals front office cannot forget their history with Carson Palmer and allow Burrow to become disgruntled after his extension. As for fantasy, Higgins will remain in the mix as a WR2.

  • Player: Javonte Williams
  • 2025 Team: Las Vegas Raiders

Fantasy Impact – Pete Carroll will roam the sidelines for the Raiders and his teams are at their best when they run the ball. I expect Vegas to draft a QB and they do not have an RB1 on the roster. Williams feels like a natural fit as a three-down back to help shoulder the load for a rookie QB. He wasn’t given a fair shot in Denver, falling out of favor with Sean Payton, and would be able to exact revenge by staying in the AFC West. He could be a cheap RB2/Flex option without much competition.

  • Player: Sam Darnold
  • 2025 Team: Los Angeles Rams

Fantasy Impact – He’s the big fish in free agency after a career season in Minnesota. The Vikings have J.J. McCarthy in the wings and can bring back Kirk Cousins for pennies on the dollar. Matt Stafford’s time appears to be coming to an end in LA and with that comes a QB opening. Going to the Rams makes sense as he returns to a similar offensive system, where he produced 4,300 passing yards and 35 TDs with Kevin O’Connell, who comes from the Sean McVay tree. Darnold should flourish with McVay and Puka Nacua as a top-10 QB for years to come.

Two-Point Conversion

  • Player: Deebo Samuel
  • 2025 Team: Buffalo Bills

Fantasy Impact – Samuel was granted permission to seek a trade but may find it hard to find a team since the 49ers have lost leverage despite a high asking price. Samuel has one more year left on his deal, which is ideal for a trade partner if it’s Super Bowl or bust for the 2o25 season. I can’t imagine Samuel going to a rebuilding team, which removes many teams. A few teams that come to mind are Buffalo, Jacksonville, Dallas, Denver, and the LA Rams. The Bills could be a sneaky destination where he may return as a low-end WR1 to a high-end WR2 as the top pass catcher for Josh Allen.

  • Player: Cooper Kupp
  • 2025 Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Fantasy Impact – If anyone anticipated Kupp’s name on the trading block, you should be writing this article. Not the player he once was, but still a very good player in real life as a pass catcher and blocker. The news of his potential departure from LA will hurt his fantasy relevance regardless of his landing spot. As the second option on his new team, which will be the Steelers, he’ll find himself as a WR2/WR3. It wouldn’t be surprising if Matt Stafford finds his way into the Steel City on a one-year deal as Pittsburgh drafts a QB for the future.
