What a spectacle the NFL offseason has become. Who would have thought head coach vacancy searches were real-life telenovelas. Front office changes correlate to which players will receive the franchise tag, locate a new home via trade, or sign a free agent deal. We can’t forget the drama with the NFL Combine. Winners

  • Player: Tee Higgins
  • 2025 Team: Cincinnati Bengals

Fantasy Impact: From the tag to the bag. Four years $115 million. Higgins remains the number two pass catcher for Joe Burrow following their historic performance in 2024 as the best offense and passing offense in the NFL. It’s difficult not ranking Higgins as a top-10 WR heading into next season. He averaged the sixth most targets at 9.5 per game, despite missing five games. He secured the best fantasy finish of his career, tying with Justin Jefferson with 19.3 points per game in PPR formats. I will note he has an inflated 40-point game in Week 17.

I cannot envision a scenario where his usage goes down after securing a hefty payday following a career-best 26% target share in 2024, which ranks in the top 20 among WRs. You don’t pay WRs not to use them. If Higgins remains healthy for the first time in nearly four seasons, I am forecasting the first time he records 1,000 receiving yards and 10+ TDs in the same season.

  • Player: Evan Engram
  • 2025 Team: Denver Broncos

Fantasy Impact: We have another “Joker” causing mayhem in the Mile High City. Sean Payton has an extensive history with getting fantasy results from talented pass catching TEs. This is an ideal landing spot for Engram who has the potential to draw the second most targets on the team that lacks a WR2. Bo Nix should be happy to throw passes to the sure-handed Engam, who only has 16 drops over 43 games with the Jaguars. The Broncos ranked fifth in the NFL with 32 drops. Pencil in Engram as a top eight TE for 2o25.

  • Player: Najee Harris
  • 2025 Team: Los Angeles Chargers

Fantasy Impact: This could end up being the best free agent signing of this class. Harris replaces J.K. Dobbins, who from Week 1 to Week 11 was the RB15 on a per game basis. Jim Harbaugh recruited Harris to play for him at Michigan, but now gets to coach him in the NFL. I fully expect the Chargers to utilize Harris as an every-down back with an offensive system that rushed the ball the 12th-most in the league. LA signed former Eagles guard Mekhi Becton to bolster their trenches. I can see a scenario where Harris finishes as an RB2 with the real possibility to be a league winner who should have reasonable ADP.

Losers

  • Player: Davante Adams
  • 2025 Team: Los Angeles Rams

Fantasy Impact:  Adams had a resurgent second half of the season as he was reunited with Aaron Rodgers. He ranked 9th among WRs in points scored per game in PPR leagues. Kupp finished his last two seasons as WR22 and WR24 in PPR. Adams has not finished lower than WR15 since 2020. If Adams is set to replace Kupp, I don’t like it for his outlook next season. The passing game is going through Puka Nacua moving forward and I expect his targets to increase, not decrease with Adams, who will be 32 years old next season. Adams will be servicable but I fear Adams will be drafted as a top 15 to top 20 WR with unrealistic expectations while not returning a ROI.

  • Player: DK Metcalf
  • 2025 Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Fantasy Impact:  A head-straining trade request brings Metcalf to the QB-less Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers ranked in the bottom six in attempts and yards. George Pickens had 27% target share in his first season with Arthur Smith calling plays. In 2024, Metcalf had a respectable 21% target share in Seattle, but I can’t envision each WR drawing 20% target share in a run-centric offense. If I am being honest, I am out on both WRs until we know who the QB is.

  • Player: Javonte Williams
  • 2025 Team: Dallas Cowboys

Fantasy Impact: One of the few three-down backs in free agency, the Cowboys signed him early in free agency to a one-year deal, allowing Rico Dowdle to test the open market. Future Hall of Famer Zack Martin retired, leaving questions about how well the Cowboys offensive line will perform next season. Unfortunately for Williams, he leaves one of the better o-line situations in Denver. Then out of nowhere, Dallas signs Miles Sanders, signaling they want a committee in the backfield or have some reservations about Williams. It’s not a forgone conclusion that Jerry Jones may select Ashton Jeanty in the first round of the NFL Draft. This could be a backfield to avoid next season.
