Week 15 is here and I’m sad.  The days are shorter and the fantasy football season is even shorter.  I may need to drink more to get through these trying times.  And these are trying times for offenses as well, with such names as Webb, Tebow, Flynn, Skelton, Clausen, and Grossman leading their teams into battle.  There are very few sure things out there this week and since sure things are rarely sure things that makes for a lot of unsure decisions going into a critical playoff match.  I want to advise you to go with your studs since they’ve brought you this far, but you have no allegiance to them and sometimes to win you have to make some calculated risks.  Joe Webb is one of those calculated risks for all you Yahoos.  I’ve been getting a lot of questions about him and I like him in that WR3 slot quite a bit. His downside is pretty down, but his upside is pretty up.  He’s a risk no doubt, but he’s just one of the many crazy plays that could push you over the top this weekend, so let it all hang out.

Our FanDuel leagues are full, but if you want to take me on in a game I have a few here, here, here, here and here.

He might feel slighted to have been left out of your intro, since Chad Henne was as crappy as any QB out there last week. Even so, I’m considering rolling Brandon Marshall vs Buffalo rather than Wallace vs the Jets. The Steelers offense looked shaky against the Bengals, and the Jets D should give them more trouble. Marshall still has a case of the dropsies and Henne throwing him the ball, but it’s against the Bills under the Florida sun.

I know your rankings like Wallace a little more than Marshall, but am I crazy to think about playing Marshall?

One note: my opponent has Foster, AJohnson, Vick, etc so I will probably need a big number to win this week. Which WR has the higher upside this week?

    Thanks.

  2. Howard says:

Am in tight cause I started Malcolm Floyd. Can’t afford another dud with AP.
    My lineup:
    QB: Brady
    WR: White
    WR: Floyd
    WR: Webb
    RB: Forte
    RB: AP
    TE: Davis
    W/R: Stewart
    W/R: Green-Ellis
    BN: L. Murphy, B. Lloyd, J. James, L. Moore

    Look ok to you Doc?

  3. Howard says:

In another league I’ve got Tamme going at TE with Miller and Daniels available. He’s listed as Questionable so I’m thinking of swapping him out.

  4. Peter says:

    Hey Doc,

How do you feel about “hedging”? I’m in the semis in 2 leagues, both of which I own Jennings and Buc Williams. Thinking about starting Jennings as my WR3 in one (w/ Megatron, V-Jax) and Buc as my WR3 in the other (w/ V-Jax and Maclin).

Should I just man-up and play the one guy I think will do the best twice, or give myself a shot at each. With V-Jax giving me a nice cushion, I think I should probably be aiming for floor, rather than upside. Thoughts?

Need help on tough decision please. I have Joe Webb or K. Britt as WR2. Its 6 points for passing TD no ppr league. Roll w/ Webb against the Bears or watch Britt exploit HOU weak D? Thanks in advance for any insight.

  6. MikeD says:

Mornin’… Ronnie Brown, Felix J, LDT or Pierre Thomas… pick one please. Also Mike Williams (Sea) or Earl Bennett?

  7. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @MikeD: Felix, Williams

@Nico: I like Britt quite a bit today. Webb is still a wildcard.

@Peter: I usually go with the guy I like. With these two I think it’s very close so I could see hedging.

@Howard: I think you are good there. I’d give Miller a shot for his upside.

@Matt Leinart: True, Henne is worthy! I may be putting too much faith in Revis tweaking his hammy again, but I like Wallace’s upside. Marshall is a little safer.

  8. Schlitzy says:

With Cassel starting does that bump JC in front of Stewart for you?

  9. So So says:

Starting to back peddle who do you start???? Owen Daniels or Tony G.

  10. Doc

    Doc says:

    @Schlitzy: It does

    @So So: Gonzo is safer.

  11. Coldman says:
    (link)

Flacco, Freeman, or Collins…who should I start? I’m in the playoffs and my opponent already got about 30 points out of Rivers. Thanks!

  12. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@Coldman: All are pretty close. I think Collins has the upside.

  13. 24hourjack says:

    doc……..I have a whole mess of random,high upside type options for a WR3 slot(non PPR)….Seattle Williams,Bess,Woodhead or Joe Webb?

  14. nick m. says:

PPR league (4pts passing TD, 6pts rush/receive): Who would you start in the OP position: Schaub, Jennings, Britt, Kitna, Best, Torain? Would you start either of those RB’s over Fred Jackson as well?

Austin Collie is active. What are your thoughts on starting him?

  16. Ben says:

    Doc–

I’m losing it over my RB2 spot. PPR league. Mendenhall, Hightower, or Torain?

    Thanks man.

    Doc says:
    (link)

@Ben: Very tough. I’m leaning Mendy

  18. friar says:
    (link)

Cassel looks like a gametime decision. Unfortunately, I won’t be by my computer at gametime, so I need to make a pre-gametime decision. Who would you start as a WR3 behind AJ and Austin: Bowe or Webb?

  19. nick m. says:
    (link)

With Collie active, do you start either Daniels or TGonz over Tamme in PPR?

  20. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @friar: I’d still lean Bowe

    @nick m.: I could see going with OD’s upside

  21. Nathan says:
    (link)

Cassell looks active, but not cleared to play. Given that, would you start ochocinco or webb over bowe?

    .5 ppr.

    thanks!

Slim pickings for Def/ST next week if I can pull one out – Cowboys @ Cards, Rams vs. 49ers, 49ers @ Rams, Lions @ Dolphins, or Indy @ Oak? Thanks.

  41. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

@nick m.: That is slim pickings. I hate to say Dallas after they got killed, but Skelton is poor. That’s where I would lean right now.

  42. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

I hate New Orleans, their awful friggin rush D, Ray Rice, Peyton Hillis, Reggie Wayne, Oakland’s goal line carries/Tom Cable (did he forget about DMC?)…I can’t remember what else I hate, but that’s a decent list for now.

  43. Hennessey says:
    (link)

Sexy Rexy and Tebow! Why didn’t I grab one of those doods and start him over Peyton? Where are the so-called experts at on that one?? :) I really wish I didn’t have to drive 8 hours today and miss all that. This season is ridiculous. If the Mayans were right, I expect next season to be even more insane!

  44. Hennessey says:
    (link)

And do you think Dan Carpenter lost anyone their playoff matchup? 0-4 on FGs? I didn’t see it…were they all 50+ yarders into the wind? Back to the soccer field, Danimal.

  45. Hennessey says:
    (link)

@Hennessey: Probably should’ve done a little research before that comment, huh? Missed from 48 twice, 53, and 61. Still sucks for his luckless fantasy owners, though.

  46. Nick says:
    (link)

@Doc: Need an early defensive pickup for the championship matchup!!!

San Diego @ Cinncy, Arizona v. Dal, TB v. Seattle, Jacksonville v. Wash, Miami v. Detroit, Oakland v. Indy, Indy @ Oakland…..or I own Atlanta but there playin Drew Brees

    Thanks
