B_Don returns for Vegas, at least physically, for this week’s waiver wire show. Donkey Teeth toughs it out with a possible broken finger from a freak ceiling fan accident. The injuries are starting to mount on the Razzball Fantasy Football Podcast!

Both Donkey and B_Don have Ronald Jones as their top waiver adds for the week. Other players recommended on the show include Marquez Valdez-Scantling, Geronimo Allison, Golden Tate, A.J. Brown, Corey Davis, Phillip Dorsett and many more. Tune in for the guys’ waiver rankings and dominate your wire!

On this edition of the Razzball Fantasy Football Podcast, B_Don and Donkey profile two early season second year breakouts in D.J. Chark and Will Dissly. After reviewing the film on Chark and looking back at their rookie review notes on the young speedster, the guys debate Chark’s fantasy value vs. each of A.J. Brown, Dante Pettis, Jamison Crowder, Nelson Agholor, Dede Westbrook, Terry McLaurin and several others.

B_Don and Donkey team up to bring you a short week 4 waiver wire show that turns into a long week 4 waiver wire show.

The running backs discussed as pick up options include: Wayne Gallman, Darrel Williams, Rex Burkhead, Ronald Jones and Jeff Wilson. Wide receiver candidates tossed around are: D.J Chark, Phillip Dorsett, Mecole Hardman, Golden Tate, Diontae Johnson and Preston Williams.

The quarterback options this week are led by youngster Daniel Jones, but Jacoby Brissett, Mason Rudolph and Kyle Allen all bring intrigue as well. The guys round the show out by talking about Will Dissly and a few other tight ends who might be hanging around on the wire. Tune in and let us know how you like the format!

There were some hefty bids put on rookie sensation T.J. Hockenson last week, which was promptly followed by some reactionary drops this week.

When it comes to rookies, make your evaluation and believe in it. Be willing to accept changes in their skill set on the field, but we can only do so much to predict usage. Just ask Rudy. Trust the process even though we always need results. This is the rookie oath.

Donkey and B_Don are back this week, goin’ deep on new Steelers’ quarterback Mason Rudolph. After breaking down the film from Rudolph’s second half performance against Seattle this past week, the guys take a look at how the fantasy relevant Steelers will be impacted. Is this a chance to buy low on early round studs JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner? Will Vance McDonald continue to thrive with the youngster Rudolph at the helm? Are any of Donte Moncrief, James Washington, or Diontae Johnson worth rostering? Tune in and find out.

Then Donkey Teeth is lured away by some juicy sugar beets, but MB swoops in to save the day during the pick ups segment. Some players discussed by B_Don and MB include Demarcus Robinson, Daniel Jones, John Ross, Ty Johnson, Raheem Mostert, Nelson Agholor, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and many more. Open your ear holes and enjoy!

Of the notable rookie performances that I didn’t see coming in week 1, Terry McLaurin sits near or at the top of the list. Not somebody I was overly high on after reviewing his college film, but showed up for the Redskins who have limited options at the wide receiver position.

Still not sure where to take this column on a weekly basis. Maybe I’ll start looking ahead to 2020 rookies at some point, but for week 1, here are some thoughts on what we saw from the most notable performers.

Rudy Gamble is back on the Razzball Fantasy Football Pod this week to discuss some of the big surprises from week one, including John Ross’s explosion, Lamar Jackson’s trouncing of the hapless Dolphins, and the poop flavor cake Baker served up against the Titans. Rudy also explains the weekly method of dialing in his projections and why you should put more weight in his numbers later in the week.

Roto-Wan aka Mike Alexander joins B_Don and Donkey on this week’s fantasy football pod. Off the top they discuss the podcast superflex auction league which drafted earlier this week. Then they dive in on Roto-Wan’s RazzBowl draft, discussing his strategy coming in, as well as some of his draft picks including Todd Gurley, David Montgomery, Kyler Murray, and Parris Campbell.

2019 was not the most spectacular class of rookies to enter the NFL. In fact, multiple times, I’ve said that the running back class is the weakest we’ve seen in the last decade with the possible exception of 2010. As history shows us with rookies, it is not always the first ones drafted that make the biggest impact in fantasy. While Saquon obviously ran away with the 2018 rookie class MVP, the 2nd leading rusher of the group was the undrafted Phillip Lindsay.

When evaluating rookies, every analyst uses some combination of talent and opportunity, and I tend to lean more toward the talent side of those. Situation can change, and while players can improve, I tend to trust my evaluations in their skills.
