We feel we are the best in-season fantasy baseball subscription service for both season-long and DFS. It is possible that our ethos of ‘We give advice for free, avoid massive cost outlays for fancy software, and ensure our collective investment (our time, your money) goes towards creating/maintaining the best projections and powerful but simple tools’ is not for everyone. So be it.

Getting to where we are in MLB was not easy, it did not happen overnight, and it never would have happened without the feedback and support of everyone at Razzball Nation (I know that sounds like standard BS but loyal readers know Streamonator was a commenter idea – I just executed and iterated on it.).

It was about 15 months ago that Grey and I decided to invest in building the best fantasy football subscription service. We knew it would be a massive learning curve and that there are some great, established players in this space. While I imagine we will be even better 12 months from now than we are today, I highly suggest jumping on board for 2017 because things are looking really good and we need the support to justify continued investment.

Fantasy Football Tools Update + Preseason Projections

Last year was our first foray into Fantasy Football season-long and DFS tools and I am hard at work finalizing the improvements for 2017 (stay tuned for an announcements in the next week or two – fyi, there will be a discount for current MLB subscribers).  As part of these improvements, we will be projecting Rest of Season projections throughout the NFL season. Unlike MLB, these will be based on the exact matchups – e.g., the system runs all the games on a team’s schedule and then sums up the stats.

Rudy’s Zag Picks, Week 4

Rudy is the person behind our Pigskinonator and DFSBot football projections and is also behind the baseball ‘bots (Streamonator, Hittertron, etc.) and NFL/MLB player pages. This weekly piece will focus on players where the Pigskinonator diverge from the popular consensus.

Happy Week 4! The first season of our fantasy football projections tool (aka Pigskinonator) is going well. If you haven’t checked it out yet, check it out NOW. Last free week! Projected stats for all QB, RB, WR, TE, DST and IDP!

The regresssion fairy was kind enough to take only a small dump in our robot’s mouth during its required 15 minute daily nap as it finished 49th out of 138 experts in Week 3 after a precociously high 4th in Week 2. The most promising aspect of it all is that these results are occuring while importing our player ranking in total whereas most experts are manually adjusting players up/down. The difference is that the the default rankings are based on the consensus average rankings for players which inherently has ‘wisdom of crowds’ built into it. This helps bad rankings become solid but does nothing IMO to make solid rankings become great. We’re shooting for great and I think we’ll get there.

No new functionality adds this week but made some improvements in the robot code that should improve the allocation of rushing attempts and targets.

Before I starting raving/railing on some players, let me get the tool and player page updates out of the way first:

  • We’ve launched the FanDuel and DraftKings NFL lineup optimizers – powered by our pals LineupLab. While it isn’t free (!) through Week 4 like the Pigskinonator and DFSBot projections, you can try both optimizers out for only $2.99/week for the next 2 weeks. It’s super easy and we’ve got a ton of the Pigskinonator projections baked into the optimizer!
  • The football player pages (see Matt Forte) now h ave two news sources – FantasyPros and Rotoballer. We’ve worked hard to make the Game Logs as useful as possible and to put the most important stuff (this week’s projections) right at the top.

Okay, with that out of the way, I’m going into Week 3 with a little more confidence.

Football Player Pages Now Live!

Following up on last week’s launch of weekly in-season NFL projections – aka the Pigskinonator – we are psyched to announce that we now have fantasy football player pages for all QB, RB, WR, TE, and defensive players!

Just like with baseball, our goal is to create the most useful player pages for FANTASY players. You’re our only target. We feel the big sports sites awkwardly bridge the gap between actual and fantasy sports fans – usually at the detriment of the degenerate latter. Not us! (I refuse to put a picture of the player’s face on our player pages. Last time I checked, there are no fantasy categories involving faces. Just a waste of space on the page.)

The Birth of Pigskinonator (aka Razzball Weekly In-Season NFL Projections Now Live)

Greetings from the secret, WiFi-enabled Razzball bunker! It has taken a while but we finally got our robots to broaden their heretofore MLB-limited expertise and start cranking out NFL in-season projections for both season-long (Standard, 1/2 PPR, PPR) and DFS.

It has been a mad sprint to being ready opening day so I don’t have all the documentation to share but hoping the below summary will suffice for now.

Before I lose those of you who have no interest in how the sausage is made, we’re making both the season-long and DFS projections free for the first 4 weeks of the NFL Season. Below are the links (also can be found under Tools in the top menu). Player pages should be up shortly (ETA end of next week).
