Injuries on the last drive of a football game can be one of the most frustrating parts about fantasy football. You’re at home rolling your eyes with your victory already in the bag wondering why James Conner is still out there with a two touchdown lead over the winless Dolphins. Then it actually happens and your jaw drops and you go numb. James Conner gets up grimacing and holding his slumped shoulder.

It’s hard to get upset from an actual football perspective. The Steelers are 1 first down away from the victory formation and Conner had been running all over the Dolphins all night. Conner just ran into some bad luck. Conner also seems to always be banged up in one way or another. He’s had an ankle issue, a quad issue, and now an AC joint issue and we are only about halfway through the season. I’m not sure what the recovery timetable is for AC joint injuries is, or if he’ll miss any time at all. It’s definitely something we’re going to have to monitor as the week goes along.

You just knew Eddie’s kick wasn’t going to go in too right? It didn’t matter that it was only a 41-yard kick. You see, the Bears are kind of like the Buccaneers when it comes to the kicking game. The kicking game is cursed. Once Pineiro hit the upright in the first half, any kick that was going to be important didn’t stand a chance. It was in Eddie’s head, it was in the crowd’s head, and it was in my head at home.

I was watching the game with a good buddy who is a Bears fan and it was completely quiet for most of the drive. The only thing that was said the whole drive was by him. He just kept repeating, “Why aren’t they going for a touchdown? They need to go for a touchdown, you can’t leave it up to the kicker.” He was right. We all were right. Here is what else I saw during the early slate of games on Sunday.

Another Sunday is upon us! We’re in the middle of bye week season and doing the best to scrap together winning lineups to make the playoff push. We do have a game in London this week and I’m wondering if the Ram’s fan base will be bigger across seas than it is in L.A. Russell Wilson will continue his MVP campaign against the Matt Ryan-less Atlanta Falcons. The Bears host the Chargers and it’s probably a valid question if you’re asking yourself if any of these teams will be able to score. Sam Darnold will try and shake the ghosts that have been haunting him as the Jets travel to Jacksonville.

Who knows what we’ll get from the Raiders when they visit Houston on Sunday, but if you believe the words of Jarvis Landry, the Browns are going to beat the Patriots. The Carolina Panthers should match up very well against the 49ers, and I’m also not sleeping on the Mahomes-less Chiefs against the Packers to close out the day. Whatever happens today, it should be another entertaining Sunday. Best of luck to each and every one of you. Let’s see what injuries we have.

Before Game Of Thrones, HBO had a terrible-but-awesome show about some bros in Hollywood. It was called Entourage. I guess it was called Entourage because the friends formed an entourage. High brow stuff! This show was exactly what 19-21 year-old me needed every Sunday. Would I again binge watch the show that got me into serialized television even with a lot better television coming out almost weekly? Hell yeah I would.

Anyways, if you haven’t seen Entourage, Johnny Drama is the less famous brother of Vincent Chase, but before Vince got famous, Drama starred in a terrible cult classic show called Viking Quest. The way Minnesota played last night is probably comparable to Viking Quest if it were an actual show.

We had another awesome week for Razzball football rankings. Rudy put the team on his back and finished 1st for week 7 in the FantasyPros accuracy contest. If you’re keeping score at home, Rudy has a first and second place finish through 7 weeks so far this season. We are halfway through the season, it’s time to get serious. You can still subscribe to Rudy’s tools after a 7-day free trial! You did click here for my rankings so here you go!

There’s nothing more frustrating than a pickup recommendation that looks bad on the surface because of a bad performance in a tough matchup. I think you know where this is going. Let’s chat about Sam Darnold. I’ve been touting Sam Darnold since last Tuesday when I filled in for Boof and submitted the waiver wire column for you, my faithful readers. I even put Sam Darnold as my pickup of the week for the FantasyPros waiver wire blurb this week.

You have to love when two guys have career days and the starting percentages are probably pretty low on them. I say pretty low because I’m sure there were people in bad bye week spots or in deeper leagues that had to start Chase Edmonds or Marvin Jones Jr. Marvin Jones is a solid WR3 for fantasy but I don’t think that many were elated about slotting him in against the Vikings. For those that were savvy enough to start Jones Jr., he rewarded them with 10 catches, 93 yards and 4 touchdowns. That is a best ball format wet dream. In the leagues that I own Jones Jr., I can’t see myself leaving him on the bench again against the Giants next week.

Chase Edmonds was a different type of situation. David Johnson was named active going into the game and he took one carry for 2 yards and didn’t touch the ball again for the rest of the game. I’m guessing that the majority of people that heard Johnson was active took Edmonds out of their lineup. Well, Edmonds carried the ball 27 times for 126 yards and 3 touchdowns. Incredible. Let’s get to some other performances from the early slate on Sunday.

Six weeks down and seven weeks to go for the regular fantasy football season. The weather forecasts are looking pretty decent across the board outside of a few possible spurts of rain. During the early games we have what could be shootouts between the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams and also the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals. In the late afternoon games we have a couple of grinder Big 10 type football games between the Saints and Bears and also the Titans and Chargers. Let’s get into the injuries and rankings.

I have really been pounding the keyboard this week, but it is a labor of love. Zach will be back next week for all of your start/sit needs, and I have you covered today. The two most disappointing quarterbacks are on a bye along with the season’s WR1, among others. The starts and sits are more crucial than ever as we head into the middle weeks of the fantasy football regular season. Let’s get those wins! We’ll start with quarterbacks.

The biggest story line coming out of Thursday night will be Patrick Mahomes’ knee. From the sounds of it as I write this, there isn’t a fracture to go along with the dislocated kneecap so that is not the worst news in the world if you depend on Mahomes in fantasy football.

I’ve started writing this at the end of the 3rd quarter. At this point the Broncos are lifeless and Flacco has been sacked 7 times. Nevermind, now it’s 8. Flacco is a corpse out there with zero mobility and the offensive line is not doing him any favors.

I saw this game going quite a bit differently. I thought that Denver had all of the momentum coming into this game off of two straight wins and KC with two straight losses. These teams were playing on 4 days rest and Denver’s roster was a lot healthier coming into the game. Kansas City can’t stop the run and coming into the game, they only had 11 sacks on the season. It turns out that this Denver offense is completely lethargic and unprepared.

Week 7 means allergy season for me. If I were speaking these words, I would have to take a deep breath in-between sentences. I’m so stuffed up, fall is really awful to me. Speaking of stuffed, what the hell was up with Derrick Henry last week? I was pretty high on Henry and he couldn’t find any room. It was the perfect matchup for him but Tennessee truly stinks.

“Wait, is this MB? Is he doing the waiver wire this week? This is stupid. I don’t like change.” I’m sorry! I had no choice. I’m filling in for Boof while he has family engagements this week. If there is one thing that we love more than giving you the best fantasy football advice, it is our families. Well, it depends on the day sometimes. Just kidding, maybe. Anyways, I’m not going to go into the gruesome detail that Boof goes into every week. He really does a great job. Hey man, I write 5 articles a week and do the editing for the site, give me a break. But, I will let you know who I am eyeing on the waiver wire this week. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns are on a bye this week.
