While it has been a quieter week compared to the past few ones, there have been some key names that will miss significant time, and some others who’s status we’ll have to monitor up until Sunday.

While it still is early into the 2019 NFL season, we are getting more clarity with which teams are actually good or bad on either side of the ball. With more and more clarity, we can make better and better fantasy decisions with how we should manage or rosters. Who we should start, and who we should sit.

Well, if you thought Week 1 had a lot of injuries to keep track of, you had no idea what was coming.
Last Sunday saw three star QB’s suffer or complicate major injuries, while a slew of different backs and receivers saw themselves out of contests late into games with an abundance of injuries.
Let’s talk about some of the players who landed on the injury report this week.

After a wild Week 1, while some fantasy owners are panicking and making season-long adjustments after only one week, this is a time where we’ll see a bunch of players bounce-back and reward the calmer owners across multiple leagues.

Every Week 1 of the new NFL season provides a lot of fireworks, crazy games, insane finishes, and, unfortunately, a ton of injuries. Injuries are a part of the game, and this past week was no exception. A bunch of very important players went down across the league this past weekend with a slew of different injuries, and many will miss time. As a result, backups and third-string players will be launched into starting and backup positions and will have an opportunity to become fantasy relevant in the coming weeks.

Week 1’s of the NFL season are always interesting. Not only do we have such high expectations for almost each team after a long and tedious offseason, but we’re always surprised at which defenses decide to show up, and which don’t. Which offenses show up, and which don’t. There are a bunch of fantastic advanced metrics and stats to show both offensive and defensive efficiency, yet, after a long offseason full of roster moves, teams are bound to get drastically better or worse on either offense or defense. And over the next few weeks or so, we’ll have a better idea of which defenses we should target, and which to stay away from.
They say never bench your studs, and that’s mostly correct. So let’s talk about who you should bench, and more importantly, who you should start.

With the start of a new fantasy football season, we start a new year of constantly refreshing Twitter and Rotoworld in hopes that our studs will be upgraded from “Questionable” to “Probable”. It’s a stressful life, which begs the question as to why we do it in the first place.
Each Thursday morning, I’ll be your guide to all the most important injury news in the NFL, and how it’ll affect our fantasy rosters. I’ll also be discussing injuries on the defensive side of the ball, and at non-skill positions, such as Tackles and Guards. If it affects an NFL team, it’ll likely affect us.

It’s been a productive summer at Razzball, and while we’ve covered almost every topic in regards to draft strategy and draft prep, it’s time to turn our attention to Week 1 of the NFL season. I’ll be back this year covering who to start, and who to sit for the upcoming weeks, so as a primer to that series, let’s take an early look at Week 1.

While many different fantasy owners employ different drafting strategies when selecting tight ends, some have found success punting on the position, and streaming TE’s for the first few weeks of the season, in hopes to uncover a diamond in the rough. It worked last year, as Eric Ebron was the #1 TE in fantasy through the first 6 weeks of the season, and Jared Cook wasn’t far behind.
Below, I’ve compiled a short list of a few candidates who are either selected in the last few rounds of the draft, or undrafted in 10-team leagues, and have very favorable schedules, in hopes to become a quality streaming option for the first few weeks of the 2019 season.

While many on this site, including myself, will advocate to waiting on draft day to select your starting/backup Quarterback, many fantasy owners out there will take a similar, yet different approach. Using different Strength-Of-Schedule metrics out there, many will identify some super-late round, or undrafted QB’s in hopes to stream the position for the first few weeks, until a starting QB is revealed. It led to some success last year, as Ryan Fitzpatrick was the 4th-best QB in fantasy during the first four weeks of the season.

Today will be the final post in a series I started two weeks ago, which will be to take a look at the ADP rankings provided by Fantrax (which is gathered by their own site-hosted drafts), and compare that to our own 2019 projections provided by our stat guru/oracle/wizard Rudy Gamble, to identify which players to target, and which to stay away from. Simply put, which players are we high on compared to Fantrax? Which players are we lower on?
