We’re trucking toward Week 7 of NFL action, and it’s time to check in with our dynasty squads because, let’s be honest, just like Lays potato chips, you can’t have just one. Your teams have likely sustained some injuries, and players like Josh Jacobs and Chris Godwin have drastically underperformed. To make matters worse, we are now into bye weeks, which can decimate a roster.
That’s why making trades in-season is just as important as in the off-season. If you’re feeling the pain but still have a shot at getting on the playoff dance floor, it’s time to make a move on some buy-low dynasty trade targets.
Here are two players that you can acquire for next to nothing to keep your rosters full and your playoff chances above water in the coming weeks.

Buy-Low Dynasty Trade Targets
Latavius Murray (RB – BUF)
I know what you’re thinking: This guy is an idiot. And maybe I am, but not for this. It’s true Latavius Murray is no spring chicken at 33 and is now with his sixth team in 11 seasons in the NFL. His latest stop, the Buffalo Bills, isn’t asking the veteran to do much. However, what they are asking him to do is important. Score touchdowns.
Murray isn’t being used between the 20s, but he is leading the Bills RBs in red zone opportunities, leading them in red zone carries (10), targets (2) and rushing touchdowns (2). Seven of Murray’s 10 red zone carries came from inside the five-yard-line, as did both of his touchdowns.
In dynasty fantasy football, age is one of the most critical factors in grading a player. However, if you’re a contender concerned about your RB room heading through bye weeks, Murray is the perfect addition. His touchdown upside is undeniable and is a solid flex start in a pinch, making him a great buy-low dynasty trade target. You should be able to send out a 2024 fourth-round rookie pick and get Murray plus a 2025 third in return.
Brandon Powell (WR — MIN)
You hate to see an electric playmaker like Vikings WR Justin Jefferson go down with a significant injury. You hate it even more when he’s on your fantasy team. However, when a door closes, a window opens, and the window for journeyman WR Brandon Powell might have just opened.
We don’t know how long Jefferson will be on injured reserve, but we do know that in a pass-heavy offense like the Vikings, anyone with a path to volume is rosterable. Jefferson has accounted for 23% of the team’s total targets in 2023. Rookie Jordan Addison and veteran K.J. Osborn will take some of that opportunity share, but plenty will be left for Powell. In the last two weeks, Powell has 10 targets & logged a season-high 58% snap share in Week 6.
If Powell is rostered in your league, it won’t take much to acquire him. A 2025 fourth-round pick or another bench piece that has handcuff value should get it done. Once Jefferson returns, his value will plummet, so this is a short-term buy. However, if you need a bottom-end flex play with back-end WR2 potential to plug in with bye weeks looming, he’s worth the minimal price.
