If you wouldn’t mind taking a break from the treadmill that you are using to work off Thanksgiving dinner and all of the leftovers we still have a slate of games ahead of us for week 12. First off, if we’re keeping it real, I don’t think the Steelers and Ravens play their game this week. I would get the players that you have involved in that game out of your lineups. It might already be cancelled by the time this comes out overnight. The injury list continues to get long and be full of terrors. For whatever reason, I decided to turn on my notifications for my ESPN app and it’s pinging like a group chat with injury and COVID designations. So let’s get to the updated injury list and updated rankings.

It’s Thanksgiving! I hope your morning is going more smoothly than mine is, there’s nothing like waking up to a still frozen turkey that you put in the fridge to thaw out on Monday. The virtual guests are going to be very uncomfortable watching me have a meltdown. At least the Ravens and Steelers battle it out tonight in what should be one of the most exciting Thanksgiving games that we’ve seen in years. Oh wait, that got pushed back until Sunday? We’re off to a rough start on Thanksgiving. It sort of makes me want to board a plane and just get out of dodge like the mayor of Denver.

It is my favorite week of the football season! We are getting close to the fantasy playoffs, the standings are painting a clearer picture in our leagues, and it’s Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving week means vacation from real life responsibilities for me. Not here at Razzball, but my actual 9-5. Which is actually 5-3:30. Early mornings, yuck. All that I plan on doing this week is proposing trades, eating, writing, and finally watching Yellowstone. Everyone watches this damn show so I have to find out what is behind all of the buzz. Is this Kevin Costner’s best performance since Draft Day? I will be sure to let you know as soon as I do.

Weirdly enough, we are looking at much better weather this week for fantasy and real life scoring. There isn’t going to be a violent wind storm in Cleveland for the first time in what seems like ever. Green Bay is playing indoors. Can Aaron Rodgers crack the code of Indy’s tough defense? My betting card is full of underdogs this week, which is always anxiety inducing, but we’ll see what happens. Below will be the updated rankings and injury report. After taking a look at that, hit up the comment section for all of your fantasy lineup needs.

What a huge weekend for sports. On Saturday, the Masters got underway to finish the second round while the sun was still rising and then the 3rd round immediately after. There was a full slate of college football to follow. And now on Sunday, we have the final round of the Masters and another NFL Sunday. The NFL is the biggest conglomerate in the sports world, but they moved all of the good games to the late afternoon to make way for the final round of the Masters. What a power move for the golf world to force the NFL’s hand! So far, it doesn’t appear that any games are in danger of the Covid postponement, so let’s get right into the injury report and updated rankings.

Welcome to the bloodbath that is week 9 fantasy football, where everyone has Covid but we’re just going to play through it! But seriously, I’m hoping for the best when it comes to the well-being of our celebrated superstars. Speaking of superstars, GUESS WHO’S BACK? Christian McCaffrey will step back onto the field and do what he can to make up ground for those who picked him #1 overall this year. Another superstar is expected back as well. Michael Thomas! Just in time to play my Bucs of course. Man, I wish another teammate called him a slot receiver to set him off and make this an easier matchup for the Bucs after he inevitably punches the guy and gets suspended.

Happy day after Halloween! It’s nice to get an extra hour of sleep. Well that is depending on which state you live in which is something I learned recently. I think Arizona and Illinois don’t have daylight savings anymore. Maybe some other states. Wait so… Nevermind I’m really going to confuse myself. I don’t want to start thinking about what time it will be in Chicago tomorrow when it’s time to kickoff. Wait, the Bears are a late afternoon game?! But hey, daylight savings could lead to Q tags being active! It’s an extra hour, after all. That’s how it works, right?

You know how when people post pictures of their kids on Facebook doing things like petting a dog or taking a bite of food and they say something like “my heart is full” or “my heart might explode”? Well that’s how I feel about the Big Ten playing football again. It brings a bit of normalcy back to my life in a year that’s been interesting to say the least.

Speaking of interesting, what does Antonio Brown have going on with Tom Brady? Tom let Brown live with him when AB signed in New England and now he brings him to the Bucs.. Hmmm.. Maybe Giselle has a new appetite to worry about with Tom outside of him liking to kiss his kids for a little too long. I really wonder how many games Antonio Brown will actually play once his suspension is lifted. Is AB able to find a helmet that he’s willing to wear while simultaneously following Covid protocols? With Mike Evans and Chris Godwin both a bit gimpy, Tampa could use the help if AB has his stuff together. It’s probably worth a shot for Tampa at the price tag that they’re paying.

It feels like forever since we’ve had pro football without there being a Thursday night game. I’ll tell you what, it was a blessing in disguise. If there was TNF, I wouldn’t have gotten to see my new favorite conference in college football. The Sun Belt. I watched the Coastal Carolina game on Wednesday night and was thoroughly entertained for 3 hours, but little did I know that Georgia State and Arkansas State was going to blow it out of the water. These two teams combined for 111 points and that blew the over/under out of the water by 39 points. Everyone on offense had so much space to do whatever they wanted, it was hilariously bad. It was much needed entertainment considering that the Big Ten will be back this week and I’ll have to watch my Hawkeyes struggle to score 20 points some weeks.

Thursday was a heartbreaker. And I should be used to it, right? The Buccaneers haven’t made the playoffs since 2007 and haven’t w0n a playoff game since 2002. I wasn’t thrilled about signing a 43 year old quarterback to try and break the streak, but I admittedly started to perk up after a 3-1 start. It’s not like the Buccaneers were impressive in the first 4 games or had beaten anyone good, but NFL wins are NFL wins. Committees don’t decide your postseason fate in the pros.

Losing that game on Thursday was pretty much inexcusable. The lack of discipline leading to dumb penalties, Tom Brady missing easy throws, the offensive line. All of it was horrible. And after all of that, they were still in position to win and blew it. It was the first time in a long time that a football game put me in a bad mood. But Sunday provides an opportunity to ease the pain with some fantasy wins. The slate is shorter than usual. Covid provides us three week day games after Sunday. The regularly scheduled Monday night game between the Chargers and the Saints will go off at the normally scheduled time and Denver will visit New England in the late afternoon on Monday. As long as there are no more positive tests for Tennessee, they will face Buffalo on Tuesday. Let’s get to the injuries and my updated rankings!

Oh wow, what a week. Tennessee Titans players continue to test positive for COVID-19 and now Cam Newton and a scout QB for the Kansas City Chiefs have also tested positive. The NFL has tentatively scheduled the Chiefs-Patriots for this Tuesday, which would count towards week 4 fantasy scores. The likelihood of this game actually happening this week seems bleak at best based on reactions from insiders’ reports of player reactions that would be involved. Some players simply don’t feel comfortable. Crippling the spread of this infectious illness throughout the NFL should be the first priority. I’m not an expert, but complete postponement of this game seems like a no-brainer. The NFL should also take into account that if the Kansas City Chiefs are forced to play on Tuesday, they have to play 3 games in 10 days. That seems… dangerous.

It’s starting to feel more like football season, eh? The SEC is back, the Big 12 is playing in conference games, and the Big Ten is now under a month away from football. If that’s not enough for you, the NFL is sizzling through two weeks and we are on to week 3. I have far fewer complaints about the level of play than I thought I would and I am thrilled about it. Do you all remember the first weeks of the officiating strike a few years back? Do you remember how watching football wasn’t nearly as enjoyable as a result? That is sort of what I was expecting, but here we are. The quality of play is fine, our star players are dynamic. The injury bug was bad last week, but if 2020 has taught us anything; if there is a sliver of hope for normalcy, you just have to embrace it.
