Welcome back for another week of cashing in here at Razzball. I am here with your weekly daily fantasy sports (DFS) focused article laying out my favorite options to target at each position for the Sunday DFS main slate. This article goes position by position, giving you my favorite pay-up option and my favorite pay-down or dart-throw option at each position to help you build out a winning DFS lineup.

I use DraftKings (DK) pricing as a point of reference to seek out some values, and the goal is to help you “double up” in a 50/50 cash game with solid plays. Of course, you can use the dart throws to try to win the GPP tournaments, but at the end of the article, I give you my “double up” lineup using players discussed in this article. So let’s get right into it, let’s build this lineup and let’s make some money.

Quarterback:

Pay up – Jalen Hurts – $8,100 – Hurts is my favorite high-priced option this week in a good matchup against Arizona. Arizona allows over 250 passing yards per game and has given up eight touchdowns through the air this season. Hurts also offers that dual-threat ability we love and should also be a menace on the ground in this game. I look for him to do damage through the air and on the ground in this game to be the best pay-up option on the slate.

Pay Down – Tom Brady – $6,000 – It’s rare to get the GOAT at this cheap price, especially in a good matchup. Brady gets a matchup against Atlanta this week, who rank 25th in the league against the pass. Brady has his weapons back healthy now, and he should be able to pick apart this Atlanta secondary. At this price, a 240-yard game with two touchdown passes gives us triple return on our investment, and I believe Brady gets us there.

Running Back:

Pay Up –Nick Chubb – $8,000– Paying up at RB hasn’t been a winning strategy in DFS most weeks, but if you choose to go top tier, I like Nick Chubb this week. Chubb has been arguably the best RB in the league so far, and he is coming off his third straight 20+ point performance. Chubb has gone over 100 yards from scrimmage every game so far this season, and that should continue this week against a Chargers team that certainly can be beaten on the ground.

Pay Down – Breece Hall – $5,400– This range of RB is the sweet spot this week, and it’s hard to pick just one here. I will likely play multiple backs in this range as you have Hall, Jeff Wilson and Rhamondre Stevenson all at either $5,400 or $5,500 and all in favorable matchups. I lean towards Hall because he has continued to ramp up his involvement in the offense both as a runner and a pass catcher. He has had double-digit points on DraftKings every week and has had back-to-back games scoring over 15 points. He had his most snaps of the season last week and looks to be taking over this backfield. I like his potential in PPR scoring and look for another 15+ point game to pay off good value for us as a pay-down option.

Wide Reciever:

Pay Up – Tyreek Hill – $8,000 – You can pay up for any of the top-tier WRs this week, but I like the opportunity here for Hill, who is $1,600 less than Cooper Kupp. People may shy away from Hill with a backup quarterback throwing him the ball, but that backup is veteran Teddy Bridgewater, who has been around long enough to know how to get the ball in the hands of his playmakers. Tyreek has averaged just under 37 fantasy points in his away games this season and sets up nicely for another big game this week against a weak Jets secondary. This could be another one of those multiple touchdown Tyreek games as he dusts the defense in N.Y.

Pay Down – Robert Woods – $5,200 – I do like Chris Godwin’s value at only $5,900, but for a true pay down option, I like Robert Woods. He hasn’t done much this season so far, but he’s finally starting to put it together, scoring his first touchdown of the season last week and having 85 receiving yards the week before. In addition, he gets a matchup against Washington, who has allowed the third most fantasy points to the wide receiver position, so Woods should be able to return solid value at this price.

Tight End:

With Kelce and Andrews off the main slate this week, we will once again pass on a tight end pay-up option and use this as a position to find some salary savings.

Pay Down – Zach Ertz – $4,800 – The targets have been abundant for Ertz, and I look for that to continue this week against his old team. He has 31 targets already through four games and could have his third double-digit target game this week in a revenge game. Philly has some great corners, so the wide receivers could have trouble getting open this week, leaving things open for Ertz to be Kyler’s favorite target this week.

Dart Throw – Logan Thomas – $3,200 – Washington is banged up in the receiver room, and both Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel could possibly miss this game. With limited weapons, the role of Thomas as a pass-catching tight end becomes even more important. He has been playing more each week and played 74% of the snaps last week while receiving a 15% target share. With the other options in jeopardy of missing this game, that target percentage could increase some more, making Thomas an excellent value at this price point.

Defense:

Pay Down(ish) – Eagles – $3,500 – This is higher than we usually pay for a defense, but this is a great value. The Eagles have the most fantasy points per game, and I absolutely love the cornerback group of Darius Slay, James Bradberry and CJGJ. Having this good of a defense as the 6th highest salary is a discount I have to mention if you have the funds.

Dart Throw – Seattle – $2,500 – This is not a good defense, but they’ve scored two defensive touchdowns and have put up at least seven fantasy points each week on DraftKings. They may get a backup QB also, with Jameis Winston still not practicing. They’re worth a dart throw at this price.

JB’s Example “Double Up” Lineup:

  • QB – Tom Brady
  • RB – Breece Hall
  • RB – Rhamondre Stevenson
  • WR – Tyreek Hill
  • WR – Chris Godwin
  • WR – Robert Woods
  • TE – Zach Ertz
  • Flex – Jeff Wilson Jr.
  • DST – Eagles
