The innovation machine never stops here at Razzball. Except for that one time when I tried to use it to heat up some leftover pizza. What a disaster that was! In the modern world of pandemics, riots and keto diets, we know it can be hard to find time to listen to 30-60 minute fantasy football shows. Oh, there’s a squirrel! Sorry, what was I talking about? Right, we’ve created a short-form video series for those of us with the attention span of a puppy. On Donkey’s Advocate, I’ll be bringing on many of the top fantasy football industry experts to sell me on one of their favorite 2020 fantasy football draft targets while I play devil’s donkey’s advocate. All of this will take place in a two minute rapid fire segment. In this week’s batch I was joined by Andy Behrens, Nando Di Fino and Jeff Erickson to discuss D’Andre Swift, Jordan Howard and Marquise Brown:

2 QB 12 team half PPR dynasty. slow draft. i’m up. only 3 rounds (snake but i’m in the middle for first time ever, lucky on that actually as i was the 2nd best scoring team last year but got seriously unlucky with scheduling)
QB: (2): rodgers, mahomes, haskins, tannehill (with 4 starters i don’t need to use this pick for a QB, unless tag or herbert are that much better than haskins, even then i need RB depth more)
RB: (2): ingram, kamara, ekeler, michel (dropped hyde recently)
WR (3): edelman, k.allen, thielen, boyd, d-jax, ross, watkins
TE (1): ertz, j.smith
2 regular flexes
esp considering i have ingram, this isn’t even close i’d think, dobbins.

so far burrow, CEH, JT, reagor, jeudy, rodfather have gone. so i’m almost certainly going dobbins (or lamb) here, dropping ross. clearly need RB depth more though. using your dynasty rankings (i’m assuming those are updated in the 250 one), even though i’m half PPR.

that’s good as i’ll be drafting many spots deeper than here (this one is moving quick we’re only about 5 or so picks being back on me). who’s my next drop, it would possibly some of these are around for my 2nd rounder:

RB: (if drop michel): swift, vaughn, dillon (these latter 2 i got last night in a 20 team dynasty where rushing yards are worth 50% more than receiving, albeit it’s also PPR and full IDP slots and only start 1 RB, 1 flex, had only b.love, DJ (HOU), ekeler there before that), moss who are ahead of michel on old list.

WR: (if drop from rankings it’s d-jax or could be edelman): mims, ruggs, shenault, higgins, pittman, aiyuk, p-will, gandy-golden and a bunch more here.

went dobbins dropping ross with the 1.7. if not for 2 QB (3 QB’s went ahead of this: burrow, tag, rodfather) i don’t get dobbins there or shouldn’t.

still works for me, outside of that one online one yesterday night and some slow drafts (that are either few rounds anyway or will finish up online like the 9th or 8th) all my online ones (including dynasties) are between the 4th and 9th. swift probably won’t be around (4 more before me actually) at 2.6 but might be (dynasty but snake there).

p-will must’ve moved up a LOT to be ahead of those 6 (that WR and RB lists of available above were from your dynasty 250, the old one).

only swift/aiyuk/a.miller (not kept) taken, 1 more till me.

– i am ranking for non dynasties right now (start up friday, then never let up ever till the last one on the 9th), how far you moving back fournette? i can’t merge you and rudy’s stuff from him not assuming fournette has ANY projections (which is odd for him, as he often gives guys like say puig in baseball most of the preseason some type of projections. it’s probably just easier in baseball to assume a certain amount of at bats maybe than snaps for non signed football guys. also the projections themselves are likely more determined by team/role in football rather than plate skills/projections in baseball)

ruggs just went so i’m up now so looks like p-will (moved ahead of those others for WR, if this dropping d-jax) or one of: mims, shenault, higgins, pittman or one of the highest RB’s (if RB dropping michel): vaughn, dillon, moss.

RJ2 not kept too, guessing him and vaughn move in the tomorrow updated stuff. still went vaughn in a 20 team dynasty on sunday for longer term value (better blocker and catcher clearly if brady hand drafted him)

yeah hope one of dillon or moss (or RJ2 if he’s higher now) or these fall to me at the 3.7: gibson/henderson/breida (if these are higher than michel by tomorrow’s rankings)

yep, updated, just refreshed page. yikes, i went vaughn/dillon/mims in a 20 teamer on sunday where i could’ve gone dillon, then moss or gibson (or kelley) then mims (got gandy golden just yesterday after t-will finally decided a torn labrum you might want to actually fix that (i almost didn’t keep him predraft, it was close)). checked at fantasy pros though for vaughn on only top 32 or better dynasty rankers since july (only 3 of them, but highly ranked from last year) they are higher on vaughn but lower on dillon. moss in the middle. i forgot to check theirs before.

shenault/p-will/pittman (not as close) are all close between all 4 of you. they have them p-will at the back, but of course something for sure to be said about a guy (near same age) who’s already shown to be good in the NFL vs those not. in that same league out of like 5 years my hit rate for useful topish WR rookies that i drafted fairly high isn’t good (m.lee, started to finally break out, injured constantly, l.treadwell (yikes), m-will (good, could/probably will be better too), aj brown (yep, that works), agholor (yuck). i’m guessing we’ll have to wait till mims gets away from gase when he (presumably) loses another (hopefully last, but probably not NFL loves retreads) job in 1-2 years.

no no not you, you did. i’m saying i kept t-will back on sunday in a 20 teamer where i was close to not. have 10 IR’s but predraft i wasn’t sure i could improve on him such to drop him. plus you probably don’t want like 3/5 WR you have to be rookies, tons of them don’t do nearly anything for a while. his injury was known as of sunday, but news reports had him playing through it, which sounded stupid, but they were all there was to go off of.

last year was an outlier compared to most of say the last 5 years in that sense, MOST of the topish ranked rookie WR did well at least some of the time. see:
– m.lee
– agholor
– treadwell
– doctson
it took those guys years or never till they put up decent production. i drafted each and every one of them (along with aj brown (in nearly every dynasty by the way, that turned out great) and m-will) in their draft years in deep dynasties, often with pretty early picks. each and every one of those was ranked quite highly in their draft year.
