Don’t Forget About the OGs (Redraft)

We all love rookie potential, second-year players and TEs emerging to their prime. What about the OGs though? The wiley vets are important, generally stable and while they may lack upside sometimes, they rarely tank a week or season as long as they maintain health. They’re not ideal targets in startup dynasty leagues, but can be great bargains for contenders and still hold sufficient value in redraft leagues. Here’s a list of older vets not getting the hype off-season viewers crave, but will be valuable for your lineups and cheaper on draft day.

Which vet players are you targeting in drafts?

We’d love to have you join us on the Razzball YouTube channel (@RazzballFantasy).

OG Quarterbacks (Age 35+)

Matthew Staffford (Age 38 – Rams) – Redraft ADP QB15

The MVP finished as QB3 overall and led the NFL in passing yards, air yards and 20+ and 30+ yard completions. All weapons returning, please a better defense with Myles Garrett joining. The Rams will have plenty of opportunities to score.

Aaron Rodgers (Age 42 – Steelers) – Redraft ADP QB32

A-Rod isn’t who he used to be and the Steelers offense doesn’t scare anybody, but he still has lethal accuracy, decent weapons and somehow ended up Top 12 in 30+, 40+ and 50+ yard completions last year. He’s a one-year Super Flex fill or a bye week replacement, but you could do worse.

OG Running Backs (Age 28+)

Christian McCaffrey (Age 30 – 49ers) – Redraft ADP RB3

The same rules apply. When he’s healthy, he’s the top weapon in fantasy football. Yes, he turns 30. Yes, he’s coming off of 400+ touches. Yes, he stayed healthy… can he do it again? If you want to play it “safe” in the 1st Round, I don’t blame you. However, few train like CMC and fewer get the workload he receives when on the field. I might bat an eye at Puka Nacua or Ja’Marr Chase in PPR, but it’ll be tough to pass on this generation’s Ladainian Tomlinson.

Saquon Barkley (Age 29 – Eagles) – Redraft ADP RB7

Saquon lost a step last year, but he’s still a dynamic player on a great offense. He was 10th in rushing yards, but just 8th in yards before contact and 16th in yards after contact. Shockingly, he was tackled for a loss on 41 plays – second only to Ashton Jeanty – for a league-worst -104 yards lost behind the line of scrimmage. His receiving work went down and his explosiveness was rare to see. His saving grace is that the Eagles still have an elite offensive line, dynamic quarterback and AJ Brown is now in with the Patriots. Still, I’ll most likely face Saquon come draft day.

Derrick Henry (Age 32 – Ravens) – Redraft ADP RB12

Until the King is… well, you know… he’s not! Yeti had the 4th most rushing attempts and 2nd most rushing yards. He was 2nd in both yards before and after contact. Oh, and he scored 16 rushing touchdowns. Ride the Roles Royce until the white-walls fall off.

Josh Jacobs (Age 28 – Packers) – Redraft ADP RB18 (obviously, this changes based on his off-field issues)

Jacobs (as a football player) is steady. You’ll get a random game where he scores three times, but he won’t be ripping any huge gains or big catches. The Packers have little scare in the passing game – both of their top weapons (Tucker Kraft and Christian Watson) are coming off injury. He’s a fine lower-tier RB1 and a steal as an RB2. Just level expectations. He’s consistent, not week-winning.

David Montgomery (Age 29 – Texans) – Redraft ADP RB21

D Mont moves over to Houston to split time with Woody Marks. I don’t love drafting either of these guys, but I’d take a swing on Montgomery. He had 900+ total yards and eight touchdowns backing up Jahmyr Gibbs last season. He’s a solid RB2 with weekly RB1 upside.

Rhamondre Stevenson (Age 28 – Patriots) – Redraft ADP RB29

Stevenson finished last season on a heater as the RB3 overall Weeks 16-18. That said, he is probably the most hated running back in fantasy; because we want TreVeyon Henderson turned loose. I expect Henderson to take over this season, but Rhamondre is still an impactful player for fantasy and one of the “cheapest” high-upside options at RB.

Tony Pollard (Age 29 – Titans) – Redraft ADP RB30

Former teammate of Rico Dowdle (next), Pollard is possibly the most boring pick that could buoy your RB room if you load up on WRs and/or QB/TE early. After Week 14, Pollard was RB11.

Rico Dowdle (Age 28 – Steelers) – Redraft ADP RB33

Dowdle is now on the Steelers. He was RB10 in fantasy points per game from Week 5 on and he’s improved his fantasy finishes each of the last three seasons. ‘24 and ‘25 were almost identical statistically, but he was RB23 in ‘24 on the Cowboys and RB18 in ‘25 on the Panthers. Jaylen Warren will get his too, but best believe Aaron Rodgers will be checking down all season to both backs.

Aaron Jones Jr. (Age 32 – Vikings) – Redraft ADP RB40

The only thing worse than Jones’ hairline (no disrespect), is his explosiveness. The once dual threat is now a plodder on a mid-offense. Jones is a decent depth piece for bye weeks, but I don’t trust his durability and don’t expect him to be productive enough to warrant a draft pick before the later rounds.

Alvin Kamara (Age 30 – Saints) – Redraft ADP RB53

This one pains me. The eventual Fantasy Football Hall of Famer could be cooked. We know he’s been outspoken about staying in New Orleans which I respect, but also hate for fantasy purposes. Travis Etienne Jr. will be the lead back with Kamara spelling on 3rd downs and short yardage – hopefully. If not, he’s a PPR only weekly wishing well. Pour one out for the Christmas Day GOAT.

OG Wide Receivers (Age 30+)

Terry McLaurin (Age 30 – Commanders) – Redraft ADP WR21

I’m happy to be that guy and throw out 2025 for Scary Terry. Jayden Daniels missed most of the season and wasn’t healthy for much of which he did play. McLaurin was WR7 in 2024 with Daniels. I don’t expect that due to his outlier 13 touchdowns, but I can see him as a viable WR2 with weekly back-end WR1 upside. There aren’t many other proven pass catchers in the Washington offense right now.

Davante Adams (Age 33 – Rams) – Redraft ADP WR24

Tae is a fantasy legend and as long as he has an elite quarterback, I’m drafting him. Obviously, I don’t expect 14 touchdowns again, but I could see 10. His usage and yardage went down as well, so some regression is to be expected. However, Matt Stafford is still playing at an elite level as mentioned above and the Rams have one of the most potent offenses in the league. Adams is a great WR2 and would be a steal as a WR3.

Mike Evans (Age 32 – 49ers) – Redraft ADP WR26

Another fantasy GOAT. Evans looks great right now in camp with his new team; the 49ers. We all know about his history of soft-tissue issues, but the truth is, aside from missing half the season last year, he only missed five total games the previous three seasons. He had double-digit touchdowns in five of the last seven seasons and of course hit 1K+ receiving yards until last year. It’d be a bit risky, but also possibly league-winning to go double OG at the 4th/5th round turn drafting both Adams and Evans. I would.

Courtland Sutton (Age 30 – Broncos) – Redraft ADP WR36

Sutton is the definition of “good, not great” and that’s fine. We need those guys in WR3 and flex positions. He’s durable, consistent and a top target on an upward trending offense. Now, Jaylen Waddle is in town, so there’s that competition, but I like Sutton in .5 PPR leagues a lot with touchdown upside. He’s got 25 touchdowns over his past three seasons and has been a Top 15 fantasy WR each of the last two. Solid pick in the 6th if you miss out on Adams and Evans.

Chris Godwin (Age 30 – Buccaneers) – Redraft ADP WR41

Let’s start with the bad… he’s missed 18 games over the last two seasons. Oof. That said, he’s healthy now and could still be the top option for Baker Mayfield in Tampa with Evans in San Francisco. Godwin had four 1K+ receiving seasons before injuries took him out the last two. He’s lost some burst, but should have the volume and PPR grabs at least. Honestly, he may end up the best pick on this list of OGs and could be a steal overall on draft day. Keep an eye on him over the summer. If he’s healthy coming in, he’s severely underrated at WR41 cost.

OG Tight Ends (Age 30+)

Travis Kelce (Age 36 – Chiefs) – Redraft ADP TE9

The OG of OGs. Taylor’s husband has seen his efficiency plummet over the last three seasons. He hasn’t had more than five touchdowns in any of those seasons either. He saw his lowest target and reception total since 2015. Guess what, it doesn’t matter. He was TE3 last season. Yes… TE3 – and Patrick Mahomes missed the back chunk of the season. We’re no longer paying 1st Round capital, so why not draft four RBs and four WRs then your QB and then Kelce in the 10th Round. His upside has shriveled, but he should be as steady as they come; especially if Rashee Rice misses any time.

George Kittle (Age 32 – 49ers) – Redraft ADP TE11

Obviouslty, this will change as he gets healthier over the summer. I expect him to land about WR4/5 after Colston Loveland before Tyler Warren. His yards per reception went down a bit, but he scored seven touchdowns in 11 games which would have matched his career high of 11. When he’s healthy he’s a game-wrecker. He’s the second-oldest relevant TE in fantasy behind only Kelce. I still like Kittle; especially with any type of discount on draft day. Just be prepared to grab another streamer later on.

Mark Andrews (Age 30 – Ravens) – Redraft ADP TE14

Andrews isn’t the bonafide stud he was from 2019-2024, but he could be sneaky this year with Isaiah Likely now on the Giants. Lamar Jackson loves Andrews and he’s a focal point in the redzone. He had a career-worst yards per reception with 8.8 last year, but if he gets back to his average of 12, his efficiency, yardage, scoring opportunities and fantasy points will increase. He was TE16 last year in what felt like a lost season. He should surpass that for sure and could get back into the Top12 range. That’s easy money for a proven streaming option.

Dallas Goedert (Age 31 – Eagles) – Redraft ADP TE15

AJ Brown is in New England. Goedert was TE7 last season. He had career-highs in

receptions and touchdowns. The Eagles will be looking for alternatives beyond the “tush push”. That’s the good news. The not-so-good news is that Goedert doubled his previous career-high in touchdowns, has yet to play a full season ever and now has Makai Lemon to contend with. His upside is capped, but he’s got a steady weekly floor.

Hunter Henry (Age 31 – Patriots) – Redraft ADP TE20

Not exciting, but useful. Henry had career-highs with TE9 finish, 768 receiving yards and 179 total PPR fantasy points. AJB will obviously impact Henry, but Drake Maye will take another step and the Patriots’ offense as a whole should be formidable once again. You won’t even have to draft Henry, so just pick him up late or stream on plus matchup weeks.
