We are already a quarter of the way through the NFL season and I still find myself thinking how much I missed football on Sundays. It felt great to go through the football routine last week after missing weeks 2 & 3. Ironically, I had my worst week of the season at the sportsbook. Too much research can be a bad thing. Let’s take a quick look at some buy and sells without overthinking things.
Terry McLaurin – APPLAUD
A pleasant surprise from this year’s weak draft class, McLaurin is a buy in Dynasty. He’s emerged as the WR1 in Washington and it seems to be for real. His Dynasty buy window is snapping shut quickly, but after going up against the historic Patriots defense this week you may still be able to get him on the cheap.
Chris Carson – FRAUD
In redraft leagues I have no problem rolling Carson out there and would not recommend selling him. In dynasty leagues he is a perfect sell candidate. Chris Carson is a product of his environment. Seattle is a run heavy team (though a bit more balanced this year) that frustratingly won’t cut Russell Wilson loose. Unless you are sure you are going to compete this year, it would be wise to move Carson for a rookie haul or an early 2020 pick. Just look at what he has done against the only good defenses he’s seen this year. (8 points and 3 points).
Marquez Valdes-Scantling – To be Determined
Week 5 is a critical week for MVS. With Adams likely sidelines with turf toe, Valdes-Scantling is going to prove that he can step up. He’s been start able through 4 weeks and appears to have a safe floor as the WR2. When a team loses their WR1 it’s a great litmus test to gauge the true talent of the next man up. This could be the week MVS turns us all into believers.
Jared Goff – FRAUD
My god, I hope your dynasty QB is not Jared Goff. What Goff lacks in talent, he makes up for in volume. That is all.
DJ Chark – APPLAUD
Why didn’t we see this coming? Damn you Keelan Cole, fool me twice…I thought we were going to get a bounce back year for Keelan Cole and it turns out it was Chark all along. Chark has taken a big step in year 2 which is a great sign moving forward. His dynasty buy window is still open, and will remain so after a tough Panthers matchup.
