I gotta say, this was one of the most exciting NFL free agency years that I can remember. Trades happening all over, big names signing with new teams, and through it all there was adjustments happening to the Razzball Dynasty Trade Chart. This is what we are here to discuss today: some of the biggest changes on the chart, as well as some players you should and shouldn’t be targeting to trade for. With all that said, let’s get into it!

The Gang Deletes Old Barkley Takes

Some of the biggest changes this year came from the running back position. There were multiple running backs going to new homes that greatly changed the fantasy football landscape. Let’s start with the biggest name first, which is Saquon Barkley. He stayed in the division and went to the Giants rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, much to the chagrin of some former NFL players and fans of the team.

There was a lot of excitement around this signing, and I think it’s great for regular football, but I believe it was a terrible landing spot for Barkley in terms of fantasy. Will his touchdowns be vultured by Hurts? How involved in the passing game will Barkley be? His production will be more efficient as he will be playing behind the best line he’s ever played behind, but those questions have me concerned. This is why Barkley lost five value points on the Dynasty Trade Chart and is now sitting at a total of 48 value points. I’m either holding, or if the right offer comes around, I’m selling.

From the Party Capital to a Cheesy Landscape

The running back that you should be excited for is Josh Jacobs now that he landed with the Green Bay Packers. Being a Minnesota Vikings fan myself, I hate how much I love this landing spot. The 26-year-old running back is a bruiser of a back and has finished as an RB1 in three out of the five seasons he has played. Last year he fell out of that range after an injury took him out of the final four games last season, but he was RB12 leading up to that moment and he had a good chance remaining an RB1 if he had stayed healthy.

Now, Jacobs lands on one of the youngest up and coming teams in the NFL with the Packers. The Packers have been waiting for a running back that they can rely on and Jacobs is going to be that guy. He gained five value points and is now sitting at 58 total value points on the Dynasty Trade Chart. If I can pull it off, I’m trying to buy Jacobs in my leagues.

Quick Hitting Running Back news

Joe Mixon and Derrick Henry both went up in value, gaining four value points and five value points respectively. Mixon landed in a great spot in Houston as the team is attempting to capitalize on the progress they made this last year. Henry also had a great landing spot, as he should dominate the backfield in Baltimore.

On the flip side is Tony Pollard and Austin Ekeler both took hits in their value. Pollard dropped four points going to Tennessee where he will most likely split carries with Tyjae Spears. Ekeler dropped two points because there are so many question marks around the Washington Commanders, I’m not sure it was the best place he could have landed. Hopefully he proves me wrong but until that time, I’m selling.

Zack Moss gained the most value points with 10 points, which is partially because of the landing spot, but also because I realized I have been sleeping on him a bit. Moss is a great buy now guy before he breaks it open in Cincinnati.

Total Team Changes

There were some teams that gained value points across the board, while others lost some value points at each position. For example, the Minnesota Vikings took a step backwards after they replaced Kirk Cousins with Sam Darnold. Darnold himself had a big gain in value points, gaining ten points by entering a good situation with all the weapons he has on that offense. That said though, each of those weapons took a step back, specifically in the passing game. There is still a lot of off-season that can change the outcome here, but Darnold would be a significant downgrade from what Cousins brought to the table.

A team that took a step in the right direction is the Carolina Panthers, although they had no where to go but up anyways after their terrible performance last year. They addressed the offensive line, which should help both the running game and the passing game. What’s more though is how they addressed the wide receiver position by trading for Diontae Johnson. The veteran receiver will be exactly what Bryce Young was missing all year as a rookie. This will open things up in the running game, as well, which is why everybody received a couple points at least in their value on the Panthers, including Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders.

There is a New Top Tight End

On the flip side of the Minnesota Vikings dropping in value is Kirk Cousins going to the Atlanta Falcons, which is a boon for all of the players in Atlanta. Cousins will open things up for the run game to be more productive than it has been, which is great for Bijan Robinson. Drake London also gets a boost to his value of five points with the new acquisition. His fellow receivers also received a small bump since Cousins likes to spread the ball around.

In particular though, is the value increase that is being given to Kyle Pitts. Pitts is someone I wanted to raise higher but I realized I was maybe getting a little too excited. Still, Kirk Cousins loves throwing to his tight end and will be the best passer that Pitts has had the privilege of receiving from so far in the NFL. Pitts is now the TE1 on the Dynasty Trade Chart and I’m trying to buy him wherever I can, even at his now inflated price. It really feels like Cousins was the final Infinity Stone that the Falcons offense needed and they are a team I want at least one piece of in fantasy this year.
