jags

Ah, back to London again. This time, it’s the legendary Bills franchise going against what many to believe to be one of the most historic stalwarts of the NFL: the Jacksonville Jaguars… HAHAHA. It’s almost like we’re trying to restart the Revolutionary War just to do it all over again. Seriously, I thought the NFL was trying to make football viable across the pond, not send teams that we probably wouldn’t remember existed if they never appeared again. Just kidding, no one in Jacksonville currently knows they have a football team. Except these people. Regardless, there are even more tantalizing match-ups this early Sunday, including Washington against the Bucs, Falcons and Titans, Steelers and Chiefs, Texans and Dolphins, and the Browns versus the Rams. Much entertainment. Such wow. Is it just me, or have the last few weeks been vacant of really good games? The only game that could redeem this fact is probably the Jets going against the Patriots, but these are still the Jets, even if they’ve started 4-1. They only peak-Jets when it hurts the most… then again, if they beat the Patriots, it’ll probably be because the media once again over-hyped a team with a mediocre defense, carried by Tom Brady and something called the Gronk. So it should be entertaining no matter what happens…

  • If you hadn’t heard the news, Brandon LaFell has finally been activated. In other news, LaFell fantasy owners have also been activated. You’ve been warned.
  • It shouldn’t be a surprised, but Dez Bryant is officially OUT this week. It’s a good sign that he’s getting closer though. Now, if someone could actually throw him the ball…
  • John Brown was limited in practice yesterday from a hamstring injury, and will be a game-time decision.

    (link)

    same deep 20 teamer PPR. start 3 WR and 1 flex. drop which of m.wilson, a.wilson, funchess for d.adams, somebody just dropped him? i likely will not get him but still gotta try.

  3. Connor says:
    (link)

    Would you play Lafell or Quick over John Brown or just risk it? Half ppr

    • I got $100 for groceries, $1400 for liquor, and $6,000 for you to bail a couple of shit puppets out of jail says:
      (link)

      @Connor: wouldn’t do quick yet, he’s barely been used.

    • Jay

      Jay says:

      @Connor: not yet, no.

  4. I got $100 for groceries, $1400 for liquor, and $6,000 for you to bail a couple of shit puppets out of jail says:
    (link)

    dynasty PPR. start 2 RB with 2 flex spots. i have forte/ivory/woodhead/christine/j.bell (DET)

    stick with bell or grab any of c.thompson/powell (handcuff value)/denard dog?
    i also have 6 WR (start 3) and 2 TE’s, so not huge need for RB, so my RB #5 slot can be wait and see or pure handcuff, i recently dropped Knile for Michael.

  5. Zandy says:

    Posted this in rankings thread too but want to get your expert opinion

    Rolling out Julio, Hilton, Ivory and Gore
    Need a flex in std league tho

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Zandy: ARob. Dion looks out.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

        @Jay: crap missed the early start. Whose next on the list?

        • Zandy says:
          (link)

          @Zandy: also have Charcandrick

          • Zandy says:
            (link)

            @Zandy: alsi have Matt jones

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @Zandy: yeah, me too. I hate London games. I’d say Brown.

          • Zandy says:
            (link)

            @Jay: Thanks man. You worried about brown being a Monday night game time decision at all?

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

              @Zandy: tiny bit, indications are he’s going though

  6. The imp says:
    (link)

    D Lewis being reported to not play today. How far up will we push Blount in his matchup with the Jets? Probably still an RB2 for PPR.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @The imp: yeah, that sounds right.

  7. Jerry says:
    (link)

    Hey, Jay! If Gates does wind up playing , should I play him or go with Ladarius? I feel if Gates does play, he may be limited by the MCL. Thanks and good luck today!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Jerry: green. And you too!

  8. Dave says:
    (link)

    With Dion Lewis probably out best option pleaseee in a PPR out of Charcandrick West, Chris Johnson, Charles Sims, or Mcfadden?

    Thanks!

    • Dave says:
      (link)

      @Dave: Also could use James White if you think he’ll be good taking over Dion’s role

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Dave: Johnson I think.

  9. Allan says:
    (link)

    Jay,
    Standard scoring need a flex out of brandin cooks, willie snead, and matt jones. Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Allan: Cooks. Tough one though.

  10. Travis says:
    (link)

    Looking to grab LaFell.. Would you drop any if these WR for him:

    Garçon, Martavis Bryant, Moncrief, or an underwhelming Evans… Leaning towards Garçon, with Jackson nearing return…

    Could also drop backup QB (cutler), but he’s out performing my starter (tannehill) right now..

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Travis: Garcon is the drop.

  11. Jerry says:
    (link)

    Jay, also would you drop Tavon Austin for Lafell, now that he’s active?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Jerry: yes I would.

  12. JHawk says:
    (link)

    Jay
    First of all, thank you for everything you guys do. The mixture of great advice and humor is always appreciated and unequaled by any other site in the biz. Don’t know what I’d do without you guys! It was painful, but I had to clue the rest of my long-time friend league in on my secret weapon.
    PPR league and with the late activation, who’s to flexy for themselves, Riddick or LaFell?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @JHawk: anytime and thanks! Going LaFell there, close though.

  13. lb. sand says:
    (link)

    How would you rank these desperation options for today (non-ppr)
    C. Michael
    J. White
    K. Davis
    B. Oliver
    J. Bell

    Thx

      • lb. sand says:
        (link)

        @Jay: Thanks.. any clear choice to follow?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @lb. sand: Actually, I might go Bell here. I changed my mind.

  14. IV says:
    (link)

    Good morning Jay!

    Desperate at QB this week. I have to choose between Cousins v TB and Bridgewater @ Det.

    I know your rankings say Bridgewater, but Tehol’s rankings have Cousins top 12. I know that’s a contrarian pick, but he has been right a lot with those type of picks this year.

    I kind of need high upside this week as i need wins in both leagues I have this dilemma.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @IV: mornin! Tehol has done a great job. I’m going Teddy B there though…. maybe flip a coin?

  15. Pppphhh says:
    (link)

    Pick 2 to start:

    Martavis, Antonio brown, forsett

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Pppphhh: brown and forsett.

      • Pppphhh says:
        (link)

        @Jay: man I really have a gut feeling martavis is for real..and want to play him so bad. I know brown is the smart choice. If I’m projected to win stay safe with brown right?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @Pppphhh: yeah, tempting, but i think you have to go brown

  16. Nick says:
    (link)

    Morning Jay! As a Jet fan, I enjoyed waking up to Jags beating up on the Bills! anyways, with Gates looking less likely to start this week, you drop Tate for Green, right? Heard some other other blog readers mention they would dump Peyton in my 10-team considering now I have Taylor & Stafford on the roster (at least for this week)…would you consider dropping Peyton? Or hold him because he has some seriously easy matchups coming up for the Broncos??

    • Nick says:
      (link)

      @Nick: also, do you think I should just roll out Gates if he does in-fact play through injury? Or still drop Tate & go for the better production from Green?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Nick: i saw that, but I’d rather hold him. And yeah, Tate for Green.

      • Nick says:
        (link)

        @Jay: Thanks bud, enjoy your Sunday

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @Nick: you too, good luck!

  17. El Jefe says:
    (link)

    Missed out on Jaguars stifling D! Stream Washington over patriots defense? Thanks in advance!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @El Jefe: yeah, I think so.

      • El Jefe says:
        (link)

        @Jay: thanks… And jags sure didn’t take long to show their true colors

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @El Jefe: Of course not. It’s the Jags.

  18. Foxy says:
    (link)

    At flex spot Jay go with L Green, S Diggs, J Stewart or J Matthews? And would you play either of Diggs or J Matthews over Snead at WR this week? Thanks very much, Foxy.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Foxy: Stewart, and I might go Matthews over Snead.

  19. Pacochu says:
    (link)

    Two quickies if you don’t mind. Season long league, standard scoring except bonuses at 100+ yds, non PPR.

    Martavis Bryant or Brandin Cooks – I am leaning towards Cooks, but I am a Saints fan, so that is influencing my mind.

    anthers vs. Steelers on Def – Have Carolina starting since they have carried me all season, but KC only has Kelce on offense.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Pacochu: I’m a fellow homer and fine with cooks. I still like Panthers there.

      • Pacochu says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

        Thanks Jay!

  20. Connor says:
    (link)

    How do you feel about Albert Wilson? Half ppr I have julio, John Brown and Steve Smith as my wrs. I grabbed Wilson and am thinking of playing him over Brown and then putting Brown in over Smith if he’s confirmed to play. Any thoughts? Thanks man!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Connor: i kinda like him, but I think all three of your options are better.

  21. Dan says:
    (link)

    James White or Charles Sims PPR league today?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Dan: Sims.

  22. Nick says:
    (link)

    STL is going crazy on Cleveland…im second guessing leaving the STL/Tate deal for Az/J Matthews deal on the table…but then again, that WR upgrade would be nice…should I ride this STL hot hand & deal em or hold them?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Nick: Wait, didn’t you drop Tate for Green?

      • Nick says:
        (link)

        @Jay: I just did it…had to with Gates ruled out. I’m glad Tate was not locked in since that game started but Yahoo let me make the add/drop

  23. Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
    (link)

    in a standard with this roster drop d.johnson to stash d.cobb? start 2 RB and WR with 1 flex.All receivers the same
    palmer/cutler
    d.lewis/l.bell/jennings/crowell/andrews/d.johnson
    gronk/allen/cooks/r.matthews/t.williams
    ARI kicker

  24. Nick says:
    (link)

    This Gates injury is not helping make my decision…looks like he might be in for 3rd down & red zones…sounds OK to me…play him? Or drop Tate for Green? Thinking I might try to hold Tate & just roll out Gates

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Nick: Ah, read the other comment first. Yeah, if Gates is in there, hobbled or not, he’ll always be a redzone target, a big one for Rivers. If you hold on Tate, it’s not wild. I think Green gets the yards though, so how’s your matchup going so far? Gates is the risk ceiling guy, Green is the floor guy.

      • Nick says:
        (link)

        @Jay: Thanks as always! Im down 53-39…BUT i still have Cooper, D Murray, L Green, J Randle & Tucker who have not even touched the field yet! Opponent only has J Brown after the 2nd half of the 1pm games…

        he only had Landry go off so far & he has Hoyer, Snead, McCoy, Abdullah, Reed, Watson & Vinatieri & Seattle defense already played.

        I still have Stafford, Hilton, Garcon AP going for 2nd half as well as the guys mentioned above

        I should be able to pull this off as long as the opponent does not have his NO receivers go off…

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @Nick: Yeah… this seems like a safe situation to just go with Gates.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @Nick: Ah, just got the news on Gates. Yeah, I agree with dropping Tate above. No choice at that point.

  25. Scott says:
    (link)

    Its Miller time!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Scott: That Miller, he’s so hot right now.

  26. Nick says:
    (link)

    Looking like a win with those last 2 LONG Ty Hilton TDs! Up 84-83 & all he has is Brown left! I think L Green, J Randle, Cooper, D Murray & Tucker will get it done for me hahaha

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Nick: congrats!
