Yeah, so… I started doing this post that tried to provide an inside look into my rankings results, players I hit on, missed, etc. (like this), partly because I liked the idea of providing more disclosure with my process, and partly because I didn’t have to clutter the top of this rankings post with that ugly box of numbers. But let’s be honest, we had no idea what the ef was going on with that new information. Looking at it, I couldn’t really figure out what it actually provided that was beneficial, so I think we’ll just move on from it and do the same old thing we’ve always done. And speaking of which, Razzball had a great week… myself, Tehol, and Rudy all averaged out in the top-25 rankings put together, and separately, Tehol finished in the top-50, and Rudy (and his Pigskinator) finished 11th out of all experts, including getting first overall with quarterbacks! Our success is your success, as one of those motivational posters with a kitten lifting a fire truck or whatever says. One of those.

Select the “Flex” tab if you need a more complete picture to decide your starts and sits. Use the “OP” tab for 2QB Leagues. And you can access our Half PPR and PPR rankings using the drop down box in the top left of our rankings when you select the RB, WR, TE, or Flex positions. Any and all questions will be answered below…

  1. Connor says:

Hey Jay, congrats on doing so well last week! How high does Deandre Washington jump in your ranks with the news Latavius is likely out this week? Also, I noticed your optimism on Charles Sims and was wondering what your thoughts were on his potential injury. Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Connor: Thanks man! Yeah, on Washington, I think he’s an add for all Murray owners, but I’m not sure he’d jump super high this week. And Sims is someone whose updates I’m watching today.

  2. Old Dirty says:
    (link)

Drop anyone to get Rawls? He’s on waivers until tomorrow

    12 team 1/2 point
    Qb Ryan
    Rb sims
    Rb freeman
    Wr ab
    Wr Evans
    Te witten
Bench Russell Wilson, ware. Jennings, Shepard, t. Benjamin, k Benjamin

I’ve tried a few 2 for 1 trades to clear a roster spot, but have been unsuccessful

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Old Dirty: Yeah, I don’t see an obvious drop. Ware is okay, but I would rather have Ware at this point.

  3. Mike says:
    (link)

Between these 4, which 2 do you start: Crowell, Travis Benjamin, diggs or fuller.

I tend to lean Crowell and fuller?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike: Yeah, I think that sounds right.

  4. Zandy says:
    (link)

    Congrats on a dominant week!
If latavius sits, where do deandre and jalen move up to?
    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Thanks man! I’d say about 10-15 spots

  5. kingforaday151 says:
    (link)

Squeezed with a bad bye week and D. Martin and C. Coleman sitting on my bench….Just traded Gurley, J. Graham, and C. Michael for B. Marshall, J. Witten, D. Hopkins, R. Matthews, and D. Sproles in a PPR. Thoughts?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@kingforaday151: It’s a fair deal, with the better group going your way.

      • kingforaday151 says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks for the feedback. Drafted Gordon late hoping my weak WRs could get me through four weeks. Once he hit rock bottom (again), my WRs needed serious upgrading.

  6. Callmejayp says:
    (link)

Crabtree or e sanders half ppr?

  7. the imp says:
    (link)

What do you think of this trade?
    1Q/2R/3W/1TE/no flex, PPR

    Owning
    Manning
    Ertz/Pitta
    DavidJ/Shady/Gio/JStew
    TY/Edeleman/Matthews/Crabtress/DJax

    I give DJax/Gio/Ertz/Manning
    I get Ingram/Graham/Brady
This is my idea, not his, but he has 7 players hurt or on bye, so he’s open to a trade now.

    Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@the imp: I’d do it. I like how it consolidates your production.

    • The imp says:
      (link)

@the imp: thinking from his POV, I might have to sweeten the Wr. Are you willing to send Crabtree or JMatthews instead of DJax to make it happen?

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@The imp: yeah, I’m okay with that.

        • the imp says:
          (link)

@Jay: He countered his Ingram/Brady/Graham for my Crabtree/Gio/Ertz. Accepted it and hope Tom Terrific comes back guns blazing.

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

@the imp: I like that deal for you a lot man. Good luck!

            • The imp says:
              (link)

@Jay: last question on this. I have do one of the following after the trade:
              1. Drop eli
              2. Drop pitta and take a zero at TE
              3. Carry no kicker and take the zero (then drop pitta wk 6)

Which do you recommend? Will try to trade Eli, but seems unlikely.
              Thanks!

              • The imp says:
                (link)

                @The imp:
                I liedalready
                Option 4, drop Jstew

                • Jay

                  Jay says:
                  (link)

@The imp: I’m okay dropping Eli. I mean, what are some other QBs out there? Doesn’t seem like a huge loss.

  8. Zandy says:
    (link)

Would love some added detail on the Dalton vs. Wentz predicament.. Thanks man floor vs ceiling type thing?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: yeah, I think it’s exactly that. But Wentz has also sustained success so far, a great sign.

  9. Zandy says:
    (link)

I picked up Jalen Richard. I only have one more move left this week (STD)
I need to start 1 RB out of Asiata or Richard or a RB via a move
DWash is on waivers – same with CAP and Darkwa

Would you still use the #3 waiver in a 12 teamer on Dwash?

I assume you wouldnt waiver for CAP or Darkwa and would just roll Richard or Asiata depending on Latavius’s health (if I didnt land Dwash)

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: I’m getting him if I’m a Lat owner, where it makes sense. I think Asiata might cover you if you want to stand pat.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@Jay: Deandre is def worth starting over Jalen this week? If so, I feel like burning the waiver sucks but is worth it to help me this week since I’d start him plus the longer term upside too (i’d drop Asiata if that’s the case)

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @Zandy: Yeah, he is.

  10. a bag of sand says:
    (link)

would you bench fitz for coates or shepard this week
    no ppr

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@a bag of sand: maybe for shepard depending on my other starters.

  11. Oz says:
    (link)

DeAndre Washington vs Dwayne Washington? I have Dwayne, should I drop him for DeAndre?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Oz: not unless you own Murray too.

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Jay: Hmm… I wondered this too but the consensus is that DeAndre is healthy so that gives him the advantage. Dwayne is looking unlikely to play this week.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@William Hung: Yeah, now that there’s some updated news on it, I think it’s a good add.

  12. 976 says:
    (link)

    Jay, I’m desperate.

Std. Already staying Ryan Mathews at RB. Should I pair him with

    Smallwood
    Jalen Richard
    Or Andrew Ellington ?

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @976: maybe Smallwood to maximize.

  13. Clark says:
    (link)

You have DeAndre Washington ranked pretty low but I suspect it’s because we don’t know who is starting for OAK this early in the week. Let’s say Murray sits, would you FLEX Washington, Mike Wallace, or a gimpy Dez? BTW, it’s a standard 12 teamer. Thanks a whole heap mon

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Clark: probably Wallace, but Washington would move up for sure.

  14. David says:
    (link)

Giving up Crowell/Pitta for Olsen/Darkwa, standard 12 team league. Which side wins? Never thought I’d start Crowell over Shady, Blount, Gore, and Lacy.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@David: Crowell side slighty, pretty even to be honest.

  15. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

McKinnon, T.West or Steve Smith for Flex?

    0.5 PPR – 3 point bonus at 85 yards receiving/100 yards rushing – 6 point bonus at 135 yards receiving/150 yards rushing

  16. phil says:
    (link)

Should I give Mariota one more chance this week ?

    • Sinkhole Demayo says:
      (link)

@phil: depends on what you’d be dropping him for of course.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@phil: I’m comfortable moving on if there’s something better out there.

  17. Fizz says:
    (link)

12 Team Standard: Who should I drop for TE C. Brate
    Qb: luck
    WR: Green, sheppard, fuller
    TE: J. Thomas (bye)
Rb: Crowell, Martin, foster, jennings, smallwood, Deandre Washington, Dwayne Washington, D.booker, J.Richard

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Fizz: Richard or JT I’m thinking.

  18. Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
    (link)

is the lat murray situation such that i need to trade one of crabtree/j.matthews for a RB? start 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex.
    QB luck
    RB cj anderson/booker/ajayi/yeldon/lat murray/d.lewis
    WR green/landry/crabtree/j.matthews/woods
    TE witten/eifert

  19. Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
    (link)

12 team league with deep benches where we can only have 6 max RB’s. i have howard/langford/dixon (having to start dixon this week)/mccoy/ingram/rawls
    .2 point PPR
    drop rawls for smallwood?
    2. same league, have 3 QB’s with fitzmagic as the worst. hold him or grab hoyer or keenum?

    3. 12 team PPR land. ajayi and d-washington OAK both have gotten value ups in last 20 or so hours. which one this week and which one ROS if i also have l.murray? this is more for reference at this point, somebody beat rotoworld’s time yesterday by about 2 hours to d-wash, which sucks since i would’ve waivered him the previous night except for the ajayi news.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo: hold on Rawls, maybe Hoyer over him, and I think Washington covers you there.

  20. Zandy says:
    (link)

Romo may be back week 8 – worth stashing or wait more?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: sure, but if you can afford the spot.

  21. Brian says:
    (link)

How long is Rashad Jennings worth holding onto before dropping him ? I know hes injured now but before then he looked bad. Im a Giants fan and just dont see a bright future for this guy going forward please share you thoughts on his situation. TY

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brian: i still like him, I’m certainly one of the few. I’d hold for now.

  22. Gio says:
    (link)

    ROS, .5PPR
Brady and lacy or wentz and gordon

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Gio: Wow, tough one. Probably Brady side.

      • Gio says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

Where would you put Carr+ gurley of those three tandems?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @Gio: in between I think.

  23. Jedimasters says:
    (link)

Jay I need a flex from J. Brown, Dixon, J. Richard, Dez or Butler if Dez doesn’t play. I currently have Brown in there but concerned about Stanton.

    Standard league. Thank you.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jedimasters: yeah, you bring up a good point, but I think Brown is the guy here still.

  24. Jedimasters says:
    (link)

Sorry for the kicker question. Catanzaro or McManus this week? Currently have Caranzaro but offense may be horrible with Stanton.

    • Sinkhole Demayo says:
      (link)

@Jedimasters: mcmanus ranked WAY higher on FP, didn’t check here yet.

      • Sinkhole Demayo says:
        (link)

@Sinkhole Demayo: here it’s only by 1. at FP i index it only by guys who’ve ranked well this year, so the gap was bigger with those guys.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jedimasters: I’m fine with McManus there.

  25. Sinkhole Demayo says:
    (link)

14 team league PPR, start 2 RB and 1 flex
    RB charles/ware/mccoy/CAP/booker/ajayi
    WR brown/diggs/parker/woods/ty williams

with stewart sounding closer to being back get ready to drop CAP for which of: asiata/ferguson/ivory/zenner/gillislee/starks/draughn/ellington/

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Sinkhole Demayo: I’d hold on CAP 9ne more week, but Asiata seems good if the reports are good.

  26. chris says:
    (link)

have chris thompson in a PPR. trying to hold out for a Matt Jones injury. I have Hyde, Latavius, Gore and Coleman. Do i drop thompson for Washington as a handcuff to a player i actually have?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@chris: yeah, I would out of safety.

  27. Dustyfingers says:
    (link)

I’m considering dropping Floyd for Royal. Should I wait another week. Floyd has been terrible and with White out Royal could be more productive.

  28. friar says:
    (link)

10-team 0.5 ppr. Should I trade away Kelvin for Christine?

    I start 2R, 2W, and a flex out of:
RB: Miller, Charles, Gio, DeAndre Wash, Dixon, Lewis
    WR: Kelvin, Landry, Maclin, Diggs

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @friar: I’d hold there.

  29. James says:
    (link)

Jay my RB’s are completely destroyed:

Have Latavius just picked up Washington as his replacement…Starting him this week…

(Picked AP First overall basically ruined my season)

    Own:
    Spencer Ware
    Dwayne Washington
    Kenneth Dixon
    Latavius Murray

Who if anyone should I drop for

    Waiver:
    Rawls
    Smallwood
    Ivory
    Langford

Let me know what you think pretty desperate at this time for a starting RB

Also Should I drop Pitta for Zach Miller or hold onto him?

    Cheers

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@James: hold on both here, your rbs have a chance to grow unto their roles.

      • James says:
        (link)

@Jay: Thanks Jay you are the man! So no go on Zach Miller? What do you think about Pitta ROS?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@James: No worries man! No go on Miller, he’s the same thing as Pitta to me. I mean, Pitta has potential, but I think he’s around the streamer zone at the moment.

  30. Dave says:
    (link)

    Hi Jay,

Made a trade in my PPR league (we start 3 wr’s and a flex)wanted to know what you thought.

Had a lot of depth at WR with TY, Landry, Jmatt, Fuller, Desean, Pryor . I traded Landry and Fuller for B Marshall and Kyle Rudolph because I wanted a stud like Marshall. I also thought Fuller is going to be inconsistent and I sometimes start Desean or Pryor anyways. I already have Eifert but getting Rudolph at least gets me a trade asset when Eifert is back.

You think I gave up too much for someone who might not be a stud this season in Marshall ? Should I do another 2 for 1 trade including Marshall for an even better receiver?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dave: I feel like it’s a slight overpay, but I think it’ll work out. Your consolidation of production was a good idea.

  31. Comatose says:
    (link)

I see the rankings, but it’s close so I’ll ask. I have John Brown, Dez, and Cruz for one spot. Start brown tonight, or wait for word on dez and roll with Cruz if Dez can’t go?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Comatose: I think waiting on Dez and using Cruz as a backup should work.

  32. Rice says:
    (link)

    Hey Jay!

So far so good this fantasy season. Thanks for all the great writing and advise!

Would you give up Forte for Gronk or Olsen if you could?

Been streaming Henry with no backup options for when that plan falls off.

Current RBs: Devonta, Ingram, Forte, Gore, Sims, Dwayne Washington, and Abdula (IR spot).

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Rice: thanks! I’d trade him for Gronk, probably not Olsen.

      • Rice says:
        (link)

@Jay: Would you give any of those guys for Olsen if the first offer doesn’t work out?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Rice: I’m fine with Gore there.

  33. Eric says:
    (link)

    Hi Jay,

12-team PPR. **Providing Rashad Jennings will be starting this week.. you would start Victor Cruz over him in the flex slot?

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Eric: No, I probably wouldn’t go that far, but you’ll have to ask me again on Sunday. I have no idea what to think about that situation, which is telling too.

  34. William Hung says:
    (link)

@Jay – do you think Chris Hogan is going to be a solid play this week in .5 PPR leagues? I have him as my 3rd WR behind AJ Green and Randall “Suck Ass” Cobb

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@William Hung: Man, I feel like that’s AJ and two big anchors. Yeah, it’s okay, what are your other options?

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Jay: Not much cause A-Rob is on BYE – I get DeVante Parker tomorrow when my trade is finally processed, but he’ll slide into my FLEX since Charles Sims might not play. My RBs this week are going to be Matt Jones and DeAndre Washington.

On another note, I hate how Yahoo gives 2 days for trades to be processed. It feels like 3 since the day the trade is accepted doesn’t count as a review day. I keep having to check the trade page to confirm when the players will be added.

        • William Hung says:
          (link)

I also have Victor Cruz, but I think Hogan will outplay him this week

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@William Hung: Yeah, that seems okay.

Yeah, the yahoo thing feels like it takes eight days or something.

  35. don says:
    (link)

    Hey jay,

I know you have Hopkins ranked over Enunwa and Shepard but would it be crazy to start Shepard over those two in a standard scoring league. I just like the matchup better with Shepard.

    Thanks

    • Pu$$y Control says:
      (link)

@don: min ain’t no joke. I would try shepard and if it doesn’t work out because hopkins has a good day at least that is a good thing for his future usage and confidence. We basically have no confidence in hopkins right now because of 2 straight duds and arguably the toughest matchup of the year and oh yeah his qb is one of the worst in the league after 4 weeks of the season.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@don: No, I think Shepard has the ceiling on both. He’s not as safe, but he could be the best.

  36. TTRA1N says:
    (link)

What’s up? Which 2 should I start? M.Floyd, D.Parker, Hogan, Coates? Drop Mariota for Semien? 12 team 2QB ppr.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@TTRA1N: Going Parker and Floyd there I think. And wait one more week on Mariota, I don’t see Semian as a huge upgrade.

  37. Zandy says:
    (link)

the word is latavius is battling turf toe but the OC “hopes” to have him for sunday

does this make you more or less interested in using a waiver on Dwash tonight?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: More interested I think. As always, depends on the drop.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@Jay: drop would be asiata but id have to start dwash even if latavius is a go

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Zandy: Ouch. It’s worth the drop, but I have no idea about that starting situation, haha.
