Hey Razzballers!

I’m stepping in on the Sunday Primer for the fantasy playoffs. In this post I’ll go over questionable players to keep an eye on Sunday morning as well as some sneaky starts this week, who just might be available in your free agent pool depending on how many players are rostered in your league. Plus find my freshly updated week 14 rankings below!

Injury Report – Will try to update these periodically as more info comes out

Myles Gaskin (COVID-19) – Added to the COVID list Saturday afternoon and won’t play. OUT

Brandin Cooks (neck) – Questionable, likely to play. Update: In a Sunday morning surprise he’s now NOT expected to play. OUT

Josh Jacobs (ankle) – Questionable, limited practice participant. Update: Likely to play. IN (but also said he wasn’t playing on Instagram?? Maybe he’s messing with fantasy owners.)

D’Andre Swift (illness) – Questionable, practiced in full Friday so trending towards playing. Update: Expected to play. IN

DeAndre Hopkins (neck, back) – Questionable, “should play.” IN

Kenyan Drake (hip) – Questionable, popped up on late week injury report but will likely play. IN

Christian McCaffrey (quad, shoulder) – Doubtful, fire Mike Davis up. OUT

Daniel Jones (hamstring) – Expected to start. IN

Frank Gore (concussion) – Questionable. IN

Jamison Crowder (calf) – Questionable, did not practice Friday. IN

Tee Higgins (hamstring) – Questionable, limited in practice throughout the week. Update: Expected to play. IN

Austin Hooper (neck) – Game-time decision.

Leonard Fournette (healthy scratch) – OUT

Sneaky Starts (Yahoo ownership %)

QB

Philip Rivers (40%) – Four straight 280 yard plus games.

Jalen Hurts (15%) – In for Wentz.

RB

Chase Edmonds (70%) – Great play if Drake happens to be out, may still see a boost with Drake limited.

J.D. McKissic (67%) – Antonio Gibson is out, PPR boost.

Duke Johnson (57%) – David Johnson is on the COVID list.

Ty Johnson (36%) – Only if Gore is out.

Ito Smith (4%) – Desperation play. Todd Gurley will play, but tough to trust those knees.

DeAndre Washington (0%) – Expected to get the start with Gaskin out, but Patrick Laird and Lynn Bowden should also be in the mix.

WR

Keke Coutee (42%) – Randall Cobb is on I.R. and Will Fuller is suspended. Now Cooks is likely out too.

Russell Gage (9%) – Julio Jones is out.

Chad Hansen (0%) – Randall Cobb is on I.R. and Will Fuller is suspended. Now Cooks is likely out too.

TE

Irv Smith Jr. (6%) – Kyle Rudolph is out.

Please feel free to ask any questions you might be pondering down in the comments section.

Anyway, here’s my updated week 14 rankings which I’ll continue to update all the way until 1PM ET Sunday:

I am dealing with jacobs being questionable. My entire team plays early tomorrow except jacobs, booker. Do I risk starting jacobs since he may not go? I wasn’t too crazy about what booker did last week against nyj. I added deandre washington looks like he is the lead rb now. I’d rather roll with washington if I had to pick between him and booker. Jacobs also has a tough matchup and may cede carries. Should I risk using jacobs or go with washington? If jacobs played early and I knew he was playing this wouldn’t be an issue. Thx

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

At this point it’d be a surprise if Jacobs didn’t play. He’d the kinda guy you don’t wanna bench even if it isn’t a full workliad so I’d wait it out, if he happens to sit then go with Booker obviously…I’d probably rank him around the same area as Washington in that case anyway.

  2. toolshed says:
    (link)

I see you have the steelers #1. They have a tough matchup amd have a lot of injuries. Haden out, and they lost Bush and Dupree for the year and a lb to covid this week. Are you still rolling with them this week or would you pick up a worse defense with a better matchup like sf? No yardage pts just pts allowed, td, and 2pts each sack, turnover, etc. Thx

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I actually meant to drop them a couple spots when Haden and Spillane were ruled out, will do that now. But yeah I’m still starting them over anything available on the wire.

      No problem, good catch.

      • toolshed says:
        (link)

Thanks. There is no way I’d sit jacobs. I just wish I knew he was playing. I was high on booker as a handcuff, but after last week I am not so crazy about his upside. I added washington today since gaskin is probably out again next week since he has covid and wasn’t in the close contact group which means gaskin is out next week. The only plus I see for washinton is that he should get most touches and was kind of a playoff darling last year.

        • Donkey Teeth

          Donkey Teeth says:
          (link)

Yep I grabbed washington too, although no guarantee Gaskin isn’t back next week.

  3. Louis says:
    (link)

Pick 1 half ppr: cooks, deebo Samuel, Antonio brown or Mike Williams

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

Sounds like Cooks is now not expected to play, dang. I’d go with AB but they’re all pretty close.

      • Louis says:
        (link)

        Thank you!

        • Donkey Teeth

          Donkey Teeth says:

          Anytime!

      • Louis says:
        (link)

How about AB or curtis Samuel?

        • Donkey Teeth

          Donkey Teeth says:
          (link)

          Samuel

  4. Mike says:

    Playoff decisions –

    Miles Sanders or Kenyan Drake?

    Herbert or Allen?

    Many thanks!

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Sanders and Allen

  5. Ben W says:
    (link)

They are neck and neck.. would you start Taysom Hill or Josh Allen today? 6 pt passing TD.

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I just bumped Allen ahead this morning due to all the Steeler defensive injuries, the 6pt passing TDs also benefits Allen over Taysom

      • Ben W says:
        (link)

        Appreciate it! Good logic

        • Donkey Teeth

          Donkey Teeth says:

          No problem, good luck!

  6. steve says:
    (link)

trying to limit risk ~ “best” 2 out of these ugly 3: Tee “hamstring” Higgins; Antonio Brown, “punching” Tyler Boyd

    . . . dart throw (Collin Johnson)

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

There’s no limiting risk in this group, Steve! I’d go with AB and Boyd though.

      • steve says:
        (link)

        thank you!!!

        • Donkey Teeth

          Donkey Teeth says:
          (link)

          No problem!

  7. blanston says:
    (link)

brady or taysom hill? brady’s burned me a few times this year

also, start two flex, half-ppr: pittman jr, duke johnson, peyton barber, gesicki

    tyty!

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I like both QBs a lot this week, Brady seems primed for a big bounce back off the bye. But I still lean Taysom in a good matchup vs Philly.

      Duke and Pittman at flex.

      Np!

  8. Fizz says:
    (link)

.5ppr Boyd, AB, or Gesicki or Deandre Washington at flex?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Washington for me

  9. Fizz says:
    (link)

Standard. Torn between picking 2 flexes:

    Aiyuk
    Deebo
    Miles Sanders
    Drake

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I lean toward RBs…Sanders and Drake

  10. Dominic Brady says:
    (link)

So I’m scrambling for a RB after Gaskins news. Do you start Washington or look for another option of wavier. Like Zack Moss?

Also Tee Higgins or Devante Parker at flex

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I’d go with Washington and Parker

  11. Allan says:
    (link)

Need 2 out of Hines, Jeudy, Gronk, and Patrick full ppr. Thanks

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

Hines and Jeudy for me. No problem.

  12. Bing says:
    (link)

I see you have Stafford and Rivers right next to each other. My QB situation has been a mess since Prescott went down. Week one of playoffs. Who do I roll the dice with? Phil or Matt?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Rivers

  13. Pete says:
    (link)

Would you go Washington over Gurley in PPR for RB2 this week?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Yeah Washington for me

  14. JohnRamboJr says:
    (link)

I’ve got an issue w/ my Flex position this week…full point ppr league

    Melvin Gordon or Amari Cooper?

Daltons revenge game against Cinci and Melvins last game before his DUI hearing (prolly his last game as a Bronco)

I’m over thinking the decision on game day.
    Help!!!

    Thanks in advance
    JRJ

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I’d go with Melvin, they’re close but all things equal I lean toward the RB. No problem.

      • JohnRamboJr says:
        (link)

Looks like the Broncos starting OL is all fucky. LT/RT/RG are all out

Stay Melvin Gordon or switch to Amari Cooper?

        • Donkey Teeth

          Donkey Teeth says:
          (link)

Sorry I missed this earlier Rambo. I woulda given bad advice to stick with Melvin fwiw. At least he wasn’t terrible…

  15. miles proudfoot says:
    (link)

I asked this question before but am perseverating during playoff week.

Flex start: Dobbins, Sanders or Aiyuk?
    TE: Tonyan or Engram

    Thank you for your patience!

    • miles proudfoot says:
      (link)

      Half PPR

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      No problem, Miles.

Still Dobbins and Tonyan. But Sanders and Engram are both close enough to me that if your gut says to go with either of them, then just do it. Good luck!

  16. Waffle the Elf says:
    (link)

WFT or Pitt D? I’m playing against Josh Allen, so unsure if the stack is beneficial.

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I’d go with Steelers unless you’re in a big hole after the morning games, then go for the double whammy with Washington…

  17. Chucky says:
    (link)

Scufflin’ with injuries, Watson ( no DJ, Cooks and Fuller), Ryan ( no Julio), Cousins, everyone healthy, playing from behind and Rivers?
    PPR, Edmonds, JamalW or Barber?
    Washington, SF or Az?
    Thanks

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I wouldn’t bench Watson for those guys. Edmonds and Wash D. No problem, good luck.

  18. mIchael says:
    (link)

Need to pick 2 in Half PPR:

    Kareem Hunt
    Hines
    Antonio Brown

    Thanks

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

Hunt and AB for me. No problem.

  19. David says:
    (link)

Big boost for Curtis Samuel with Moore and CMC out, it seems. Having a hard time between Samuel and DJ Chark

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Agreed, Samuel for me.

    • Evan says:
      (link)

      Hunt, Duke, or Gage HPPR

      Thanks!

      • Donkey Teeth

        Donkey Teeth says:
        (link)

Duke is tempting but I’d still go with Hunt.
        No problem!

  20. Epo says:

Hunt, Duke, or Gage!? Need one and it’s half ppr

  21. OldMilwaukeePounders says:
    (link)

    Yo DT!

Pick 3 (1 flex, 2 WT) to roll with in a must win, PPR match up:

James Conner, Evans, Chark, Tee Higg, Chad Hansen

    Thanks, Homie!

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:

    Hunt or Melvin?

    thanks!

Coin flip, slight lean to Hunt for me. No problem!

  23. John Corn says:
    (link)

First round of the playoffs, Yahoo Standard scoring, would you start Deebo Samuel OR Antonio Brown?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      I prefer AB

  24. Pete says:
    (link)

Any argument to go Rivers over Kyler Murray? Passing TDs are 6 points. Still learning Murray but nervous.

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I wouldn’t even consider it, but I get the nerves

  25. John Valentino says:
    (link)

    Standard scoring,
    AB or Deebo Samuel?
(I already have Mike evans started)

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I’d still go AB but I see the argument for Deebo with Evans already in

  26. Gio says:
    (link)

    Half ppr

Jacobs, Curtis Samuel and or mike Davis.

Currently have both Panthers I .

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Davis and Jacobs for me

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Washington for me

Tua or Daniel Jones in 2 qb lge. Other qb is Stafford thx

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      I’d go Jones. No problem.

  29. Buddy says:
    (link)

    Coutee or Conner

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Conner

  30. scoboticus says:
    (link)

Highest upside, Irv Smith or Jordan Akins?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

With all the Houston WRs out, I lean Akins now. Just updated my rankings to reflect this.

  31. otisP says:
    (link)

Full point PPR in my flex: Kareem Hunt or Jarvis Landry?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      I’d go Hunt

  32. Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
    (link)

time to get worried in super flex (i have a bye here though for this week)
QB: glennon (seems to have lost job again), bridge, newton (if we believe he didn’t just lose his job, which would be twice in less than or around a month benched in game)
RB (2): d.wash, aaron jones, duke jo, scott, gore, l.bell, gio b (after first carry fumble this turned into 3 way timeshare and i didn’t want to start gio b anyway with how awful finley/b.allen are)
WR (3): perriman, higgins, adams, theilen (wow, good thing he had his bad game even when down a ton with me on bye in 3 spots i own him, c.davis finally found somebody he could cover (him or j-jeff)), AB, patrick
    TE (1): goedert, kelce
    team D: LAR
    IR (3): gaskin, p-will

drop glennon or which somebody else for: aj mccarron (watson hurt late), minshew, stidham. i’m down to 1/100 FAAB having spent 2 on d-wash this morning (daily FAAB).

    – also, j.jacobs is either the biggest POS ever OR a really nice guy, we’ll see which shortly.

    • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
      (link)

2 regular flexes, 1 super flex too.

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I say Glennon for Minshew, he looked really good.

I’m guessing POS on Jacobs and he’s messing with fantasy owners. But yeah, bout to find out.

      • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
        (link)

he got a rush right away, so giant POS. this is worse than the coaches (walrus last week with CEH) saying nothing and making somebody a decoy. be funny if a group of fantasy players get together and tapes themselves burning their jacobs jerseys (quite a possible thing if in LV)

        • Donkey Teeth

          Donkey Teeth says:
          (link)

Haha yeah. It’s kind of funny if you don’t own Jacobs though!

          • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
            (link)

it’s funny if you are playing against somebody who just benched him late AND he ends up doing well for sure. but it’s disgustingly funny. like a car crash where the head flies out and gets stuck on a fence.

            – if carson isn’t hurt again, what’s going on over there with hyde playing

            • Donkey Teeth

              Donkey Teeth says:
              (link)

It doesn’t seem like a great way to earn fans!

Maybe Pete just trying to keep Carson healthy?

              • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
                (link)

the only league i own jacobs (keep 2 league where i kept aj brown and jacobs, a 16 teamer half PPR) i missed playoffs barely since they only do 6 playoff teams, so this isn’t a “me” personally screwed over issue.

                • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
                  (link)

good lord di jo drops just tons of everything. ben just keeps f’ing up he’s throwing too much into his hands. dude probably should’ve been converted to a CB years ago like so many others like this.

                    Donkey Teeth says:
                    (link)

Ben keeps messing up by not throwing to Claypool

                    • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
                      (link)

yes that is true. i had to play 2/4 of these in a money league: parker (easy bench with tua not fitz, tua not yet good at non middle of field throws), claypool, marv jones, c.davis. SOOO far i chose the right 2 in marv, c.davis. also marv had a 34 yard catch stolen by refs near end of that game. also barely missed 2 other decent gains earlier in game. c.davis didn’t end up doing much, TEN easily winning that game and aj brown apparently can come back from one ankle injury, get another one (don’t know if it was to the same ankle as last week or not), still keep on rolling. having far more aj brown than c.davis i’m fine with this overall.
