Absconding in solitude to a Southern Colorado cave for the past two weeks, I pondered the universe, those delicious Totino’s pizza rolls, and of course, the next great buy for your fantasy football team. Entranced in the depths of transcendental meditation that would make The Buddha blush, two syllables appeared in the ether over and over. Tre – Quan, Tre – Quan, Tre – Quan. The universe has spoken and Tre’Quan Smith must be acquired at once. The third round rookie out of Central Florida is a WR4 for now, but top 20 WR numbers for the rest of this season are well within the realm of possibilities with Ted Ginn out for the year. Anyway, here’s some more players to buy or sell this week in fantasy football:

Buy

Stefon DiggsAdam Thielen is stealing the show in Minnesota, but don’t forget about the more talented Viking’s receiver. Stefon has been Diggsing my fantasy team a hole the past two weeks, but on the plus side, we’re getting a great buying opportunity on his WR1 potential rest of season.

Rob Gronkowski – Gronk stayed behind in New England this past weekend to be with his 1,200 girlfriends but the big man should be back this week. If his owner is desperate for a win and you’re sitting pretty, see if you can land Bobby Whiskers for your championship run.

Doug Martin – Does Dog Martin have anything left in the tank? I’m not sure, but with Marshawn Lynch hitting the IR, I expect Gruden to give DMart every opportunity to take the lead back job in Oakland.

Jalen Richard – Little Richard is the Raider running back to own in PPR leagues. That said, both Richard and Martin should be added in all formats.

Raheem Mostert – Mostert is the beneficiary of Matt Brieda being one of the most-hurt running backs in the league. Seriously, is there any part of Brieda’s body that hasn’t been injured already this season? Mostert is averaging over 6 YPC and he’s easily better than Alf Morris at this stage in his career.

Geronimo Allison – I talked up Chief Geronimo before the season and he was off to a great start prior to the concussion issues. Coming off a bye, Geronimo is ready to smoke the peace pipe out in L.A. this weekend.

Christian Kirk – The Cardinals offense looks hopeless, but nothing is ever as bad as it seems. OC Mike McCoy has been fired and Kirk has already shown a decent floor in recent weeks. There’s huge upside here if the Arizona offense improves. From previous weeks I’m still buying David Johnson, Ronald Jones and Rashaad Penny.

Sell

Amari Cooper – Wide receivers changing teams mid-season don’t have a great track record. Is there an optimistic Cowboys fan in your league?

Royce Freeman – Even I didn’t expect Phillip Lindsay to be this much better than Royce Freeman when I wrote about him prior to week 1. On top of the stiff competition for carries, Freeman is now battling an ankle injury as well. Shop Royce around and see if any believers remain. If push comes to shove, he can be dropped in shallow leagues.

Julian Edelman – He’s a risky WR2 moving forward considering his injury history and Gronk returning this week. If you can get fair value in return, make the deal, but I’d want at least a couple Totino’s pizza rolls. Just make sure you nibble the corner of the pizza roll first for cooling purposes to avoid the nuclear explosion in your mouth.
