Yes, the quarterback, wide receivers, and running backs get all the attention. But seriously, where would they be without their offensive lines (unless you are named Derrick Henry)?

So, using Pro Football Focus’ offensive line rankings heading into Week 13, let’s see who has the advantage.

Offensive Line Rankings

  1. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are an offensive line without many holes. This week they will play the Tennessee Titans, who rarely blitz but rank top-10 in pressure rate.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts has a 36.6% completion percentage when pressured (24th). His completion percentage from a clean pocket is 76.1% (3rd).

  1. Kansas City Chiefs

Right Tackle Andrew Wylie has given up the most sacks (6), pressures (35), and penalties (7) of any of the offensive linemen.

Their opponent this week is the Cincinnati Bengals. Trey Hendrickson has 44 pressures and will be a handful for Left Tackle Orlando Brown Jr.

  1. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens’ offensive line has given up 67 pressures, with only 18% (12) ending in a sack.

The Ravens play the Denver Broncos this week. The Broncos rank top-10 in pressure rate.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson left practice early Wednesday with a quad injury.

  1. Green Bay Packers

The Packers play the Chicago Bears this week. The Bears generate pressure on only 20.2% of plays. The Bears are giving up 4.7 yards per carry against the run.

Packers running back AJ Dillion is averaging 4.2 yards per attempt. Aaron Jones is averaging 5.3 yards per attempt.

  1. Cleveland Browns

The Browns do not have a starter with an above-average run-blocking grade.

This week the Browns play the Houston Texans.

Texans’ edge Jerry Hughes has 21 pressures in his last four games. He will face off against Left Tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. and Right Tackle Jack Conklin.

  1. New England Patriots v Buffalo Bills Thursday Night Game
  2. San Francisco 49ers

Right Tackle Mike McGlinchey will be tested. Miami Dolphins edge rusher Jaelan Phillips leads the Dolphins with 45 pressures. He lines up mostly on the left side.

  1. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons call a run play on 52.5% of their offensive plays, the most in the NFL.

Their Week 13 opponent, the Pittsburgh Steelers, is allowing an average of 26.1 rush attempts per game (12th),  an average of 4.0 yards per rush attempt (6th), and 104 rushing yards per game (6th).

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers’ offensive line has the best pass-blocking efficiency score in the league (90.7). They also have a quarterback with the fastest average time to throw (2.27 seconds) in the league.

In their last meeting, Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore were ejected from the game.

  1. Detroit Lions

The Lions play the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jaguars’ Josh Allen has 10 pressures in the past two games and plays on either side of the line.

Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff has a 23.0% completion rate when pressured (35th).

  1. Minnesota Vikings

Play the New York Jets this week.

The Jets’ defensive line can get pressure with just four rushers. The Jets rank fifth in pressure rate (38%) with the lowest blitz rate in the league.

Minnesota’s quarterback Kirk Cousins has a 42.9% completion rate when pressured (13th) and has thrown 98 pressured throws (1st in the league).

  1. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys play the Indianapolis Colts this weekend.

The Colts allow only 3.9 yards per carry, tied for third-best in the league.

Tony Pollard is averaging 5.6 yards per carry. Ezekiel Elliott is averaging 4.1 yards per carry.

  1. Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks play the Los Angeles Rams this week.

Seattle’s offensive line started 32nd.

This week the Rams will be without Aaron Donald. Donald led the team with 46 pressures. No other Ram defensive lineman has more than 26 pressures.

  1. Carolina Panthers Bye Week
  2. Chicago Bears

The Bears play the Green Bay Packers this week. The Packers are allowing 5.6 yards per carry.

The Bears call a run play on 51.2% of their offensive plays, the second most in the league.

Bears’ running back David Montgomery is averaging 4.0 yards per carry. Quarterback Justin Fields is averaging 11.1 carries per game.

  1. Cincinnati Bengals

Last week no member of the offensive line allowed more than two pressures on 45 pass-blocking snaps.

This week the Bengals play the Kansas City Chiefs. Defensive Tackle Chris Jones has 48 pressures on the season. He just lines up against the opposition’s weakest link.

  1. Denver Broncos

The Broncos play the Baltimore Ravens this week.

The Broncos are averaging 1.4 yards per carry before contact. That is the league average.

Baltimore allows 3.9 yards per carry, the third-best in the league.

The Broncos rank 18th in pass-blocking efficiency, giving up 109 pressures. The offensive line has allowed the fourth-most sacks (36).

The Ravens are tied for the fifth-most sacks in the league (35).

  1. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders play the Los Angeles Chargers this week.

The Raiders rank 23rd in pass-blocking efficiency, having allowed 126 pressures.

The Chargers rank last in yards per carry allowed (5.4).

Raiders’ running back Josh Jacobs is averaging 5.4 yards per carry.

  1. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts play the Dallas Cowboys this week.

Although the Colts’ offensive line has shown improvement. Two words Micah Parsons.

The Colts have given up 43 sacks this season.

The Cowboys’ defensive line leads the league in sacks (45).

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars play the Detroit Lions in Detroit this week.

The Jaguars rank last in PFF run-blocking grade. The Jaguars have the third-best pass-blocking efficiency grade.

The Lions are giving up 5.2 yards per carry.

  1. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins will face an epic mismatch. San Francisco’s Nick Bosa vs. Left Tackle Brandon Shell. Bosa has 55 pressures in 10 games. Bosa is third in the NFL with 11.5 sacks and has at least one sack in five consecutive games.

Tua Tagovailoa has a 51.2% completion percentage when pressured, sixth best in NFL.

  1. Buffalo Bills Thursday Night Game
  • Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers play the Atlanta Falcons this week.

The Falcons have the second-worst pass rush.

  1. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers play the Las Vegas Raiders this week.

The Chargers are averaging less than a yard per carry before contact.

Right Tackle Trey Pipkins will have to go up against Maxx Crosby.

  1. Washington

Washington plays the New York Giants this week.

  1. New York Jets

The Jets meet the Minnesota Vikings this week.

Vikings’ Za’Darius Smith leads the NFL in pressures (61). Smith pressures from an inside alignment. He will go against Left Guard Laken Tomlinson and Right Guard Nate Herbig.

  1. Arizona Cardinals on Bye Week
  2. Houston Texans

The Texans play the Cleveland Browns this week.

Houston averages 0.9 yards before contact. Only Tennessee averages less.

Browns’ Myles Garrett usually lines up against the left tackle. But akin to Jones, he flips sides when a mismatch is identified.

Garrett has 10 sacks so far this season.

Texans’ quarterback Kyle Allen was sacked five times last week.

  1. New Orleans Saints

The Saints play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week.

No Buccaneers has more than 28 pressures.

  1. New York Giants

The Giants play Washington this week.

Right Tackle Evan Neal has allowed five sacks in seven games.

Washington’s defensive line is good, even without Chase Young. Washington has accumulated 30 sacks so far this season.

The Giants have allowed Daniel Jones to be sacked on 10.34% of his pass attempts. Jones has been sacked 33 times this season.

  1. Tennessee Titans

The Titans play the Philadelphia Eagles this week.

They are only alluding more to the greatness of Derrick Henry (and perhaps why he is getting more passing games). The Titans average 0.8 yards before contact, the worst in the NFL.

The Eagles rank fourth in pressure rate (38.1%). Five different Eagles defensive linemen have at least 24 pressures.

When pressured, Ryan Tannehill has a 46.9% completion percentage, the ninth-best in the league.

  1. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams play the Seattle Seahawks this week.

Seattle is allowing 4.9 yards per carry, 27th in the league.
