Quarterbacks
- Player: Jared Goff, Detroit
- Game: at Washington
- Stats: 25 of 33, 320 yards, 3 TDs
After getting upset at home in Week 9, HC Dan Campbell took over play-calling duties from OC John Morton. It’s been a rare sight to see Jared Goff attempt 30+ passes in a game in the 2025 season, and unique in a game they never trailed. It was the first time since Week 5 that WR Amon-Ra St. Brown wasn’t targeted at least 10 times. Washington is a beat-up squad, so I don’t want to make more of it than it is, but it was a welcome sight to see the pass distribution. Goff has only had two games with 300+ passing yards this season after throwing for 4,629 in 2024. That has not affected his efficiency as he now sits at 20 TDs against only 3 interceptions on the season.
Speaking of beat-up squads, 49ers QB Mac Jones has been heroic in relief of the injured Brock Purdy. Yesterday was no different, even in their worst loss of the season. That owes much to the San Francisco defense not being able to get off the field. Jones was 33 of 39 for 319 yards, 3TDs, and 1 INT. Jones is 5-3 in relief of Purdy.
Rams QB Matthew Stafford is quietly having one of his finest seasons. This was after significant concern before the season started about a back injury. His game yesterday — 24 of 36 for 280 yards with 4 TDs — dismantled the remains of the 49ers’ defense. Stafford now has 25 TDs and only 2 INTs for the season, and if he’s not squarely in the MVP conversation, he should be. The Rams are now 7-2 heading into a showdown at SoFi Stadium with the 7-2 Seattle Seahawks for the division lead.
Speaking of relief, Texans QB Davis Mills helped lead a 19-point comeback against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 4th quarter. Mills was 13 of 23 for 114 yards with 2 TD passes in the 4th quarter. He also converted a 2-point try, and his 14-yard TD run with 0:31 left gave the Texans their first lead at 30-29. If C.J. Stroud does not make it back from the concussion protocol, Mills will be called on again to face the Titans in Nashville.
Tyler Shough won his second start and led the Saints to their second win of the season, upsetting the Panthers in Charlotte. Shough was 19 of 28 for 282 air yards with 2 TDs. The Saints are on their bye before heading to Atlanta in Week 12.
The Seahawks did not need “hero” Sam Darnold on Sunday as Seattle jumped out to a 35-0 first-half lead, fueled in part by two fumble recovery defensive TDs scored by DE DeMarcus Lawrence. Darnold was 9 of 11 in the first half for 167 yards and a 43-yard TD on the first series of the game. He finished 10 of 12 for 178 air yards as he only dropped back three times in the second half: an interception on Seattle’s first offensive play, a strip-sack-lost fumble on the second series, and an 11-yard pass on Seattle’s last scoring drive. Two of Darnold’s three turnovers led directly to Cardinals’ touchdowns. The Seahawks are going to want to button that up before arriving in Inglewood.
Both Raiders QB Geno Smith (16 of 26, 143 air yards, 1 INT, 6 sacks for -29 yards) and Broncos QB Bo Nix (16 of 28, 150 air yards, 1 TD, 2 INT) contributed mightily to one of the grossest games of the 2025 NFL season on Thursday night. Coupled with the 13-11 snoozefest in London, that’s two strikes on the Broncos.
Running Backs
- Player: Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis
- Game: vs. Atlanta (In Berlin, DE)
- Stats: 32 carries, 244 rushing yards, 3 TDs, 3 receptions, 42 receiving yards
I don’t know about you, but I’m running out of superlatives to describe Taylor’s season. Well, appropriate ones anyhow. With the above line, Taylor has had 5 games with 3 TDs and has finished as the RB 1 in PPR 4 times (pending tonight’s game) for the season. He also has an RB 2 and an RB 3 week. Taylor’s TDs yesterday included one where he ran into the scrum in the middle of the line, then bounced out left where he was barely grazed by CB A.J. Terrell on his way to the end zone for 83 yards, and the walkoff 8-yarder in OT that gave the Colts their 8th win. Taylor now has 1,399 scrimmage yards and 17 TDs on the season. Christian McCaffrey’s close, but essentially a week behind Taylor in PPR points. Sadly, we will be Taylorless as the Colts have their bye in Week 11.
The upset of the day was in Miami Gardens as the 2-7 Dolphins knocked off the 6-2 Buffalo Bills in large part due to RB De’Von Achane’s 225 scrimmage yards and 2 TDs. Achane had 55 yards on 6 touches as part of the Dolphins’ first scoring drive, a 12-play, 92-yard beauty that ate up nearly half of the 1st quarter, and it was off to the races. Achane’s first TD in the 4th quarter was a burst up the middle for 59 yards as he shrugged off three tackle attempts, and made the score 22-6. After the Bills closed to 23-16, Achane took his 3rd carry in the 3-play, 37-yard drive 35 yards off the left side to the house untouched to provide the game’s final points. The Dolphins head to Madrid, ESP, to “host” the 3-7 Commanders at Santiago Bernabéu before returning to the U.S. for their bye.
I know a few people at RazzballNFL are taking victory laps after Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson’s 15-touch, 150-yard game with 2 long TDs. After being kept out of the end zone twice from the Buccaneers’ 1 in the last 1:03 of the 1st half, Henderson took the ball 55 yards on the 2nd offensive play of the 2nd half, diving into the end zone after getting clipped at the Bucs’ 2, and giving the Pats a 20-10 lead. After the Bucs turned it over on downs in the game’s final 2:00 at the Pats’ 30 and the score 21-16, on 2nd and 9 at the Pats 31, Henderson bounced off a block by LG Jared Wilson around left end and went untouched the rest of the way. Inside the Bucs’ 10, he looked quizzically at his sideline to see if he should score with 1:31 left or stay in the field of play to run the clock. Millions of fantasy players are delighted with the decision. The Patriots play the Jets at MetLife Stadium on Thursday.
If you think we’ve run out of large games by RBs, fret less. Despite Goff’s game, the Lions had plenty left for RB Jahmyr Gibbs, who turned 18 touches into 172 scrimmage yards and 3 TDs. Gibbs opened the scoring on a 14-yard reception, added a 13-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter, and scored Detroit’s last TD off a pitch from Goff, taking it to the right nearly untouched for 43 yards to make it 41-16. The Lions head to Philadelphia for Week 11’s Sunday night game with the defending champs.
It wasn’t flashy, but RB Kimani Vidal handled 26 of the Chargers’ 51 touches for 108 scrimmage yards and a 2-yard TD run that made the score 22-3 with 9:41 left in the game. The Chargers possessed the ball for 37:35, helped in part by Vidal. The Chargers are 7-3 and head to EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville for the Week 11 game with the Jaguars.
Someone forgot to mention the tough-to-run-on Browns’ defense to RB Breece Hall, who provided most of the offense for the Jets on Sunday. Hall had 21 carries for 83 rushing yards, and their only offensive TD on a 42-yard reception when QB Justin Fields read a zero blitz by the Browns and threw the ball to Hall at the Browns’ 47; Hall blew through the remaining Browns’ defenders untouched for a 23-17 lead with 14:12 left in the game. The Jets led the rest of the way for their 2nd win of the season. The Jets host the Patriots on Thursday.
In a game the Bills unexpectedly trailed for nearly the last 50 game minutes, RB James Cook had a modest day with 77 scoreless scrimmage yards on 18 touches. The Bills will try to get back on track against the Buccaneers on Sunday in Orchard Park.
Receivers
- Player: Trey McBride, Arizona
- Game: at Seattle
- Stats: 9 receptions, 13 targets, 127 receiving yards, 1 TD
Leading off with a TE for the second week in a row is not by design. But it is awesome. McBride now has a line of 46/32/328/5 in his last 4 games. After being denied twice in the end zone in the 3rd quarter, first by S Nick Emmanwori, then by NB Riq Woolen, from the Seahawks’ 15 QB Jacoby Brissett hit McBride for a TD that McBride caught at the 8 and shrugged off defenders to get in. McBride is now the TE 1 in PPR by 21 points. The Cards play the 49ers in Glendale in Week 11; the Niners escaped with a 1-point victory in Santa Clara in Week 3.
Jalen Nailor is likely not the Vikings WR you were expecting to see here, but QB J.J. McCarthy was only able to complete 7 of 23 passes to his more well-known WRs. Nailor caught 5 of 6 targets for 124 yards, with a pass on 3rd and 4 from the Minnesota 34 that McCarthy dropped over CB Marlon Humphrey at the Ravens’ 41; Humphrey fell trying to block the pass and Nailor stiff-armed CB Chidobe Awuzie out of the way at Ravens’ 28 before being caught by S Alohi Gilman at the Ravens’ 4, setting up the first points of the game. McCarthy hit Nailor with a throw around CB Nate Wiggins in coverage in the back of the EZ on 4th and goal from the Baltimore 10 for the final points of the game with 3:23 left. The Vikes stay home to meet the Bears on Sunday.
One of the beneficiaries of Campbell taking over play-calling was Lions WR Jameson Williams, who had 7 targets for only the 3rd time this season. He parlayed those into season-highs in receptions (6, tying his Week 6 total) and 119 receiving yards. Goff hit Williams with a 14-yard TD where Williams weaved through the Commanders’ defense for the last 4 yards with 2:54 gone in the 3rd quarter; Goff hit Williams 3 times for 47 yards on that drive. Goff found Williams on 2nd and 7 from the Detroit 21 on their next offensive series as Williams was crossing the field alone at the Lions’ 24, then Williams streaked unaccosted down the left sideline until being knocked out of bounds at the Washington 38 for 41 yards.
Bucs WR Emeka Egbuka continued building his OROY resume with a 6/119/1 line on 13 targets against the Patriots. Egbuka posted 2 catches for 45 yards, including a 21-yard TD on the game’s opening drive, then added to his highlight reel with a 31-yard catch on 1st and 10 from the Tampa 49 as QB Baker Mayfield for Egbuka alone in the zone at the Pats 32, and Egbuka was brought down at the 20. The Bucs head to Orchard Park to play the Bills Sunday.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey had a 15-yard TD as part of a 6/4/109/1 line. It was McConkey’s 3rd TD in 5 games, and boosted the Chargers’ lead to 12-3 0:12 before halftime.
A week after housing 3 receptions in Foxboro, Falcons WR Drake London added an 8/6/104/1 line in Berlin against the Colts. London’s TD came with 3:25 left in the first half on a beautiful ball QB Michael Penix laid right over LB Germaine Pratt (a LB on London, LMAO). Luckily, London was able to shake off Pratt’s pancaking him in the EZ. The Falcons return to the U.S. and will not have the customary week off as their bye has already passed. They’ll head home to play the Panthers on Sunday.
WR Chris Olave received 8 of Shough’s 26 targets for the Saints, turning in a 5/104/1 line that included a 62-yard TD as Olave beat CB Jaycee Horn as Horn fell at the Panthers’ 26 while hand-fighting with Olave for Shough’s pass; Olave caught the ball at the 20 and cruised into the EZ with 9:21 left in the first half for a 10-7 lead the Saints would not relinquish.
Those “more well-known WRs” I spoke about in the Nailor piece? Vikings WRs Justin Jefferson (12/4/37/0) and Jordan Addison (11/3/35/0) would make their shareholders happier by getting on the same page with McCarthy. Opportunities are nice, but only part of the package.
Raiders TE Brock Bowers followed up his huge Week 9 line with a 3/1/31/0 line. New Raiders WR Tyler Lockett had 6 targets. That game was so ugly even its mother wouldn’t love it.
- Week 11 byes: Indianapolis and New Orleans. To quote Jeff, “Adjust your lineups accordingly.”
