Quarterbacks

  • Player: Brock Purdy
  • Game: at Tampa Bay
  • Stats: 25/36, 353 passing yards, 2 TDs

Purdy entered this game facing the friendliest defense to QBs and did not disappoint, finishing as the third highest-scoring QB on Sunday behind the TNF QBs. Coming out the bye, the Niners relied on Purdy’s arm utilizing all his pass catchers. Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings should continue to be fantasy-relevant. The Niners face the Seahawks coming off their bye for the second time where Purdy posted 255 and 3 TDs. Daniel Jones has a prime opportunity for his best game of the season hosting the Bucs in Week 11.

  • Player: Jalen Hurts
  • Game: at Dallas
  • Stats: 14/20, 202 passing yards, 1 TD, 56 rushing yards, 2 TDs

Dallas is a certified dumpster fire. They entered today’s divisional game allowing the the third most to QBs, allowing Hurts to crush them. Hurts has been on a roll of late with a favorable QB schedule but will have his first big test against Washington, who look to introduce their new CB, Marshon Lattimore. The Cowboys will face the Texans, who hope to have their WRs back. I suggest starting all players against the Cowboys moving forward.

Notables:

Derek Carr found a way to maintain the faith, finishing QB4 in a favorable matchup against Atlanta despite missing his top WR. He should have finished with a bigger game if Alvin Kamara secured a wide-open pass late in the fourth quarter. Carr and the Saints have fantasy relevance facing the Browns, who allow the seventh most points to QBs over their last four games.

Jayden Daniels had his worst fantasy game of the season, despite not turning over the ball while rushing for a season-low five yards. Pittsburgh has been the top-rated defense against QBs over the last four games and continued their dominance. Things do not get easier Daniels’ who will be battling Philadelphia on TNF, who allow the second-fewest points to QBs. Steelers are set to face the QB1, Lamar Jackson. Who will prevail?

Speaking of Pittsburgh, Russell Wilson is entering the QB1 discussion. He’s dropping dimes to George Pickens all over the field. I am excited to see how he fares against the Ravens allowing most yards and TDs to QBs. Baltimore just let Joe Burrow toss four TDs and 400+ yards on TNF.

Mac Jones got the start for an injured Trevor Lawrence. If Lawrence is out long-term, the arrow is pointing down for Jacksonville’s offense.

Running Backs

  • Player: Chuba Hubbard
  • Game: vs. New York Giants (Germany)
  • Stats: 28 carries, 153 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 4 receptions, 16 receiving yards,

Fresh off a mid-season extension, Hubbard had a career day in Germany. Over the last four weeks, the Giants have allowed the third-most rushing yards, so this performance shouldn’t be too shocking. Hubbard has been posting RB2 numbers over his last games with 50+ rushing yards or a score. He’ll have a difficult change to replicate after his Bye Week facing the Chiefs, who allow the fewest points to RBs.

  • Player: James Conner
  • Game: vs New York Jets
  • Stats: 12 carries, 33 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 5 receptions, 80 receiving yards

Over their last four games, New York had allowed only 87 receiving yards to RBs. Conner recorded 80 receiving yards in Week 10.  Conner’s last four games have been impressive posting 100 all-purpose yards or score, all while scoring double digits each week. He’s done so against defenses ranging from all top, middle, and bottom third. He’ll get a well-deserved bye and then end the season with a top-10 rest-of-season strength of schedule. He’s a trade target for me.

Notables:

Bijan Robinson has at least 19 touches of 100+ all-purpose yards or a TD in five consecutive games. I should note, that in those five games, each defense ranks as the top 10 friendliest defenses to RBs. He’ll have a more difficult defense with the Broncos on paper but have allowed the seventh most points to RBs over the last four games.

The fantasy community rejoiced at the return of Christian McCaffrey. It was good to see him tally 19 touches for 107 all-purpose yards with an 88.5% snap share in his first action of the 2o24 season. Jordan Mason should be held as the top handcuff moving forward, but Isaac Guerendo can be safely dropped. We should see a vintage CMC game facing Seattle in Week 11 who allow the 10th most points to RBs.

The Tampa Bay RBs are both RB2s until further notice.  They each find ways to impact the game, translating to fantasy appeal. The Bucs duo have a fantastic matchup against the Giants in Week 11 who have allowed 600+ all-purpose yards and 4 TDs to RBs over the last four games.

The Steelers backfield is finally getting interesting with a healthy Jaylen Warren. Warren was more efficient with his 16 touches than Najee Harris’ 21 touches. The duo face the Ravens who have allowed the third fewest points to RBs over the last games.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. produced in a must-start game against the easiest defense for RBs this season. He’ll get a Bye Week to get over the fumble and face the Bucs who allow the third most points to RBs. I would look to trade for him.

Gus Edwards returned for the Chargers and took 10 touches away from J.K. Dobbins but only played 25% of snaps. Edwards and Dobbins each totaled 55 yards. Neither scored and were vultured by Herbert and Haskins. I am not too concerned for Dobbins’ shareholders as this could help his efficiency moving forward.

Wide Receivers

  • Player: George Pickens
  • Game: at Washington
  • Stats: 5 receptions, 91 receiving yards, 7 targets

Pickens is finally breaking out due to the chemistry with Wilson and should be viewed as a high-end WR2 with a ceiling of a WR1. Washington’s secondary has allowed the fourth fewest points to WRs entering today’s game and Pickens finished as WR5 on the week. Pickens will face the Ravens who allow the MOST points to WRs. The Eagles WR may have a tough time against the Commanders and Lattimore.

  • Player: CeeDee Lamb
  • Game: vs. Eagles
  • Stats: 6 receptions, 21 receiving yards, 10 targets

Lamb didn’t get paid enough to deal with this headache. The Eagles have been the worst matchup for WRs over the last weeks, so this performance should not be surprising. He’ll see the volume from a fantasy perspective, but like Tyreek Hill earlier this season, it might be best to bench him due to an inept offense. Don’t be surprised if he gets shut down before the season ends. TRADE while you can!

Notables:

Calvin Ridley is a must-start until proven otherwise. Since DeAndre Hopkins was traded, he’s averaged 100 yards, six receptions, and has scored two TDs. The Titans will face Minnesota who were allowing the third most points to WRs before facing the Jaguars.

Courtland Sutton is proving to be a safe WR2 over the last five weeks despite his 0-for in Week 7. As Bo Nix goes, he goes. He’ll face a beatable Atlanta Falcons secondary allowing the eighth-most points to WRs over the last four games.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling did his best Rashid Shaheed impression in his first game with the Saints. It could be sustainable with the injuries to the Saints WR room. He’s worth an add as a bench stash.

Similar to Pickens, we’ve entered the Terry McLaurin WR1 era. In a tough matchup against Pittsburgh, McLaurin became the third WR to eclipse 100 yards against them. He’ll get a harder test against the Eagles who have given up the fewest points to WRs over the last four games.

Just when I high on the Jets WRs and offense as a whole, they can’t take flight in Arizona. Luckily, they’ll face the Colts in Week 11 who are below average to QBs and WRs.

Tight Ends

  • Player: T.J. Hockenson
  • Game: at Jacksonville
  • Stats: 8 receptions, 72 receiving yards, 9 targets

Hockenson was back to his old ways, soaking up targets under the Kevin O’Connell offense. The Jaguars have allowed the fifth most points to TEs over the last four games, so it’s good to see Hockenson produce in a favorable matchup.

Notables:

Sam LaPorta caught an early TD against the Texans and I thought he was on his way to big fantasy day. Unfortunately, he left due to a sprained AC joint. If he’s good to go next week, LaPorta faces the Jaguars defense that allowed Hockenson to finish as a top-six TE in Week 10.

Trey McBride was in position to score his first receiving TD of the season but dropped it. He’ll have to ponder what if during his Bye Week before facing the Seahawks in Week 12 who have allowed three TDs to TEs all season.

The OG TEs of Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews, and George Kittle, dominated this week and look poised to continue it. Start ’em with confidence.

Taysom Hill accounted for 50 yards on the ground and in the air but it felt disappointing due to MVS blowing up the box score.

In his first bad matchup on paper since Week 4, Cade Otton delivered a dud against the 23rd-ranked SF defense. He’ll have a week to get right before facing another difficult opponent in the Giants who allow the fourth-fewest points to TEs.
