Henry The Hammer Nails The Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes made his triumphant return to the Chiefs’ lineup on Sunday and he did not disappoint. On his first throw he didn’t look like he was moving around very well and threw what looked like an interception, but it ended up getting overturned to a completion. After that, he looked like the same ol’ Patty. Andy Reid was not at all shy about his usage either. Mahomes attempted 50 passes and completed 36 of them for 446 yards and 3 touchdowns.

It really helps to have Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce to throw to. Tyreek Hill saw a remarkable 19 targets and caught 11 of them for 157 yards and a touchdown. Travis Kelce caught all 7 of his targets for 75 yards. Mecole Hardman absolutely turned on the burners for his 63 yard touchdown catch. Having two of the fastest wide receivers in the league is paying off for the Chief’s offense. Unfortunately, we have the Chief’s defense, and we also have the turnover prone running backs on this roster. While Damien Williams did reach over 100 total yards, he had a costly fumble that might have put him in the doghouse with Andy Reid. I’m not quite sure what his other options are though.

Week 10 NFL Fantasy Football Primer

It’s week 10 of the fantasy football season. After you get done reading this and ask your questions, get all of your housework done because we have 10 hours of great football ahead of us. Well, hopefully. During the early games, the Bears and the Lions will face off in a last ditch effort to keep their seasons alive. The Browns will host Buffalo and try to save face. There are reports that there could be some high winds in that one so keep that in mind when you are setting your DFS and season-long lineups. Patrick Mahomes is back, folks! Patrick Mahomes will make his return against the Tennessee Titans. Our shoot out this week comes in Tampa Bay and a matchup between Jameis Winston and Kyler Murray. There should plenty of fantasy points to go around in that one. 

In the late afternoon, the Panthers face off in Lambeau with Kyle Allen getting another chance to keep the Panthers in the playoff race. The Rams will try and keep themselves in the division race against the surging Pittsburgh Steelers. On Sunday night, Kirk Cousins will try and turn around his historic primetime stench with the Vikings traveling to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. Week 10 DFS Guide

The Russell Wilson-Tyler Lockett combo has won me some major money twice this season. In Week 3, I had those two, Mike Evans, and Christian McCaffrey in my lineup en route to a top three finish. Last week, I had those four in my lineup en route to a top three finish.

But this week, the Seahawks are tasked with playing against the horrifying 49ers defense. Seriously, how happy must Richard Sherman be right now? That was an incredible acquisition that is paying off big time for San Fran, and Sherman has been a terrific presence so far. It makes it a lot harder to trust Russell and Lockett in these circumstances. Who can help you compensate for two of the most reliable DFS picks of the year? Let’s find out.

The 3-5-1 Arizona Cardinals are fresh off extended rest following their near dethroning of the undefeated San Francisco 49ers in week 9 on Thursday Night Football. Kliff Kingsbury if flying the NFL’s 3rd fastest paced offense to the East coast to take on Jameis Winston and the 4th most points per game, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fantasy fireworks will be on full display in the highest projected point total for week 10.

RazzBowl Revelations: We Talkin’ Bout Playoffs?!

The highly anticipated inaugural RazzBowl playoffs are finally upon us! That’s right, we talkin’ bout playoffs! Our leader heading into the playoffs is Mike Beers of Rotoviz who jumped into the top spot with a powerful run to finish the regular season, lead by a three-headed monster of Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook and Derrick Henry. 

Beers is joined by another 89 members from our field of 180 industry participants—with a few lucky fans sprinkled in—advancing on into the playoffs. The top 3 teams from each league have advanced into the RazzBowl Championship Bracket (45 teams) while the 4-6 ranked teams in each league have advanced into the RazzBowl Wildcard Bracket (45 teams). The first round of the playoffs will last three weeks with the top 15 teams from the Championship Bracket moving on, plus the top 3 teams from the Wildcard Bracket jumping up into the Championship Bracket for round 2. The best ball portion of the competition is complete and now our competitors must choose their lineups manually moving forward. This is where we separate the men from the donkeys. Gruden Grinds, But Darren Hits A Wall

Jon Gruden has been my favorite thing to watch this entire season. He was unintentional comedic gold during the Raiders’ Hard Knocks run and then that turned into him ruining a bunch of my bets by making the Raiders competitive. And now I’ve been profitable riding the Raider train the last couple of weeks.

Gruden has been stellar so far this season with the X’s and O’s. The Raiders were missing a couple of offensive lineman and also Arden Key. The Raiders were also ripped to shreds with dumb penalties but somehow, some way they continue to get it done. I had written the Raiders off after Antonio Brown forced the Raiders to cut him, but here I am in week 10 really hoping that Oakland can find a way to grab the 5 seed and make the Saturday afternoon wild card game a fun one. Here is what else I saw in the final primetime game at Oakland Coliseum.

What are my rankings bona fidas? Well, there’s finishing in the FantasyPros Top-10 Draft Accuracy (7th Place) in 2017, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy (23rd Place) in 2017, Top-5 Draft Accuracy (3rd place) in 2016, Top-10 Weekly Accuracy (10th Place) in 2016, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy in 2015 (21st Place) and on average we’ve finished in the Top-10 Draft Accuracy (9th Overall) and the Top-20 Weekly Accuracy (18th Overall) for the past four years and finished 30th overall for our Draft Rankings with a 32nd overall finish in Weekly just last season. And this is out of over 100+ industry sites and experts year-after-year. I’d like to think we’re pretty good at this stuff…

What does the word bona fidas mean? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, bo·na fi·des ˌbō-nə-ˈfī-ˌdēz , ÷ˈbō-nə-ˌfīdz means 1 : good faith : sincerity, 2 : the fact of being genuine —often plural in construction, 3 : evidence of one’s good faith or genuineness —often plural in construction, 4 : evidence of one’s qualifications or achievements —often plural in construction. On a separate note, I think it would make a great name for a cat.

What’s my ranking process? I’ve actually written about this in the past, and instead of working hard for new and enlightening content, I have chosen the more efficient (lazy, ahem) method and dropping in a link to that post here. Honestly, my process hasn’t changed much at all (the ole “don’t fix what ain’t broke” proverb comes to mind) and so my “A Day in the Life of a Fantasy Football Ranker” story still remains relevant to this day. (The TL;DR is: I’m lazy as fudge. Well, I mean the other “f” word, but I’m hungry.)

How should I use your rankings? The same way your mother does. Which actually makes no sense. (Unless your mother is in the running to always finish top-3 in your Fantasy Football league. And if that’s the case, say hello to her for me.)

It was a very quiet this past Sunday in the NFL injury landscape. There was Jacoby Brissett, or Spicy Brisket, who did injure his knee, and a few other spots, but this week has mostly been a recovery week for stars like Patrick Mahomes, James Conner, T.Y. Hilton, and others. It’s important to keep up with all of the latest injury news and reports, especially as he slowly crawl to Week 14 and the start of the fantasy playoffs.

Rest Of Season 80: Devin Singletary Has Arrived

We have been waiting for a fantasy football running back breakthrough and it is finally here in the form of Devin Singletary. Singletary was cemented behind Frank Gore and battled a hamstring injury for the first half of the season. However, the last two weeks he is receiving a 66% or higher snap share and broke out in Week 9 with 20 carries, 3 catches, 140 total yards, and a touchdown. As long as his hamstring can hold up he looks like the lead back behind the #3 offensive line in adjusted line yards in a run heavy offense. All of these positives along with the fact he gets the Browns and the Dolphins in the next two weeks to continue the forward momentum. As noted last week, I’m not sure that there are many opportunities like this that will come along the rest of the year outside of direct stud running back handcuffs. Spend your FAAB. Check the trade market. Get the guy. He could be a league winner.
