We’ve reached the draft phase of the RazzBowl 8 season! We have 240 participants, and I want to thank you all for being here. Drafts kick off today at noon EDT. We will have up to four hours between picks. The clock will pause overnight.
This will be my second season guiding this tournament from the Razzball side. I will build relationships throughout this.
I’m trying to build a community, and a wise person once said, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” So one of the most impatient people in human history is going to practice patience. And resolve.
To that point, I’m always available to have a conversation. Critiques are as important as praise. To my mind, even more so. I also know that our time is valuable. I will try not to waste it.
There are 240 of us maniacs here this season. I am on a mission to grow that going forward. With that in mind, I look forward to improving this league and making it a desired destination for fantasy players.
You will help me learn. I value few things more than that, so thank you. Conversely, if you have questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out, and I’ll do my best to serve.
Appreciate you arranging this tournament
I am one of the weirdo Razzballers who won’t use X any longer, or even call it X. Suck it Elon
I’m curious to know how these slow drafts work, will teams really take 4 hours to make a choice?
I’m pick 12, and traveling, so what do the stats say historically?
Hi Foxman:
Thanks for signing up and participating!
Teams will not take 4 hours each. There is a 4-hour clock on each pick, and the clock is stopped between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. nightly for the duration of the drafts. Picks can still be made, but no one will time out during the stoppage.
This is my fourth time in the tournament. Typically, a draft can last 10-15 days.
I hope this helps. I was only now aware of your question. I’ll send email updates during the drafts.

Why use slow drafts? This really sucks in my opinion.
We are 16 hours into a draft and only 8 picks
I didn’t sign up to autopick.,
Hi Foxman:
We use slow drafts because many of our 240 participants have other responsibilities: jobs, family, other drafts, etc.
In my experience, getting 12 teams to agree on a time to spend 1-2 hours making 240 picks is not easy. Multiplying that by 20 would make it more difficult.
I know waiting for slow drafts can be trying. I’ve been using them for many years, so I now have other things to occupy my time between picks.
I’m asking you to be patient. You won’t have to autopick if you don’t want to. I’m speaking to the entire field via email.
Best,
Dave

Its probably less about format and more about the people who take the entire 4 hours on every pick. Sorry for venting here.
Keep up the good work
I will work on my patience
Hi:
Are there particular people who use the entire clock more than once? Thanks.
Dave
