It’s now or never for your 2024 fantasy season. QBs have an overt advantage over position players, so having the QB advantage in your weekly matchup is important. Finding the right TE during this part of the season can lift your team to the ‘Ship. I will look at QBs and TEs who can help you now and into the fantasy playoffs. Over the last two weeks, I discussed four WRs and four RBs to target, so be sure to check out those articles.
- Player: Justin Herbert
- ROS Rank: QB9
What hasn’t been said about the recent play of Herbert? He’s been a top-five QB over the last week four weeks, scoring above 20 points in each contest. What stands out the most is his rushing ability during this stretch posting 49, 32, and 65 rushing yards. His newfound rushing takes him into the QB1 tier for me. I would note he has not thrown an interception since Week 2.
Looking ahead, Herbert has one of the best upcoming QB schedules facing Cincinnati, Baltimore, Atlanta, Kansas City, and Tampa Bay. All five rank within the top 11 most advantageous to QBs. His teammates are healthy and have the skill sets to produce alongside Herbert.
Trade away: Patrick Mahomes II | Package: Jared Goff & Travis Etienne Jr./Tank Dell
- Player: Bo Nix
- ROS Rank: QB11
The next QB is for Superflex leagues but feel very comfortable with him as QB1 in 10 to 12-man leagues. Sean Payton said Nix was his target heading into the 2024 draft. They’ve been a hit on the field and in fantasy. After a slowish start, Nix has stepped up his game, finishing as the QB4 over the last four weeks in plus matchups. The dual-threat QB is one of four (Burrow, Stafford, Jackson) to total at least 10 TDs during this span.
Very similar to Herbert, Nix has the sixth-easiest QB schedule to end the season. The only blemish is having Week 14 bye, so be prepared if you trade for him.Â
Trade away: C.J. Stroud | Package: Sam Darnold & Javante Williams/Josh Downs
- Player: Cade Otton
- ROS Rank: TE7
Otton in my opinion is one of the more realistic and best TEs to acquire for your playoff push. For starters, he has the best TE schedule. I cannot stress how impactful scheduling is down the stretch. Otton has benefited from Godwin’s absence, drawing 39 targets since Week 7 (4 games) with a 25% target share.
His QB, Baker Mayfield, has the third-best schedule for the remainder of the season. Dating back to Week 7, Mayfield has attempted the eight-most pass attempts. Once Mike Evans returns, I foresee Otton having more space to operate. Don’t be surprised if he’s on many championship teams.
Trade away: Mark Andrews | Package: Tucker Kraft and Austin Ekeler
- Player: T.J. Hockenson
- ROS Rank: TE9
Hock is a great trade target as many shareholders stashed him as their second TE and had a very lackluster game last week. His upcoming schedule is favorable and I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him yet. Since returning from injury, he’s played in three games with his best game being targeted nine times, securing eight for 72 yards in Week 10.
Last season in the same offensive scheme, he was targeted 127 times which was good for eight targets per game. At that pace, his eight targets would rank as the second highest among TEs in 2024. His chemistry should continue to grow with Sam Darnold as the Vikings jockey for playoff positioning.
Trade away: Evan Engram| Package: Kyle Pitts and Josh Downs
