We must evaluate our rosters now that we are in the back half of the fantasy season. The waiver wire is more than likely dry with a few handcuffs lingering. Making a trade may be your only option, which can be a good thing! I will look at RBs who can help you now and into the fantasy postseason. Making trades can be difficult but I will provide players you could theoretically package to acquire your new asset. Last week I discussed four WRs to target and will follow up next week with QBs and TEs.
- Player: Jahmyr Gibbs
- ROS Rank: RB5
Would you believe me if I told you Gibbs has scored the fifth most points by an RB thus far into the fantasy season? He’s done so with the 23rd-toughest RB schedule while ranking 23rd in total touches by RBs. I would not be surprised to see his touches and snap share increase down the stretch for the run-centric Lions.
The Lions RBs have the 10th-friendliest schedule in the back half of the season. Go get him before he explodes against the Jaguars in Week 11, who are allowing the third-most points to RBs over the entire season.
Trade away: Justin Jefferson | Package: James Cook and Davante Adams
- Player: James Conner
- ROS Rank: RB15
The window to obtain Conner’s services is shrinking but he’s my favorite RB to get right now. Conner is averaging 21 touches and 15 fantasy points over his last four games. Expect these numbers to only improve down the stretch. Looking ahead, he has the ninth-best schedule for RBs. Arizona’s overall offense has the arrow pointing up due to their matchups heading toward the fantasy playoffs, which should increase his TD opportunities.
As a whole, I see the Cards’ offense breaking out in the second half and expect to see many players from Arizona on title teams. Go secure Connor then go ahead and pick up Trey Benson (19%) as the handcuff. Thank me later.
Trade away: DK Metcalf | Package: Brian Robinson Jr. and Darnell Mooney
- Player: Tyrone Tracy Jr.
- ROS Rank: RB19
The Saquon Barkley replacement has been very good for the Giants. He’s overtaken Singletary as the top back in NY by doubling snaps and touches. Tracy Jr. is averaging 49 snaps and 20 touches to Singletary’s 21 snaps and 9 touches over the last three games. He’s currently on his bye week, so the time is now to strike as you may be able to get a discount.
Tracy’s upcoming schedule is highly favorable as the Giants have the 2nd best schedule for RBs. There is risk involved if the Giants shut him down, but his head coach should have some skin in the remaining games to keep his job for next season.
Trade away: D’Andre Swift| Package: Tony Pollard and Khalil Shakir
- Player: Jaylen Warren
- ROS Rank: RB32
The post-hype sleeper is finally here! Warren looks to be healthy heading into the back side of the season and his fresh legs could prove to be the difference for the Steelers and his shareholders. In Week 10 he was the better than Najee Harris while accounting for his season-high 16 touches in a big game against the playoff-bound Commanders.
Harris is nursing an ankle injury at the moment, so do not be shocked if Warren maintains the momentum. For the season, Harris is one of 13 RBs to average 19 touches per game. I don’t expect those numbers to hold and foresee the Steelers’ backs to have a similar usage rate to the Lions with Warren holding the Gibbs role.
Trade away: Audric Estime | Package: Rico Dowdle and Cedric Tillman
