ARI
- Some things stay the same
- All 4 weeks, it has been DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, and then Rondale Moore, in that order.
- For 3 weeks, Chase Edmonds has been right around 65% snap rate. Chase Edmonds did get 2 carries inside the 10 this week, unfortunately, James Conner got 5.
ATL
- The Curious Case of Cordarrelle
-
- Cordarrelle Patterson snap rate was on the rise in week 3 reaching 42%. Unfortunately, in week 4 it dropped to 31%. Even without a high snap rate, he’s averaging 12 touches across the last 3 games.
-
BAL
- Disappeared as fast as Mike Tyson
- Mike Tyson’s money lasted longer than Ty’Son Williams playing time. After sitting right around 50% in the first 3 weeks, he was a healthy scratch in week 4.
- Latavius Murray took the majority at 63% of the snaps with Le’Veon Bell coming in 2nd at 28%. DeVonta Freeman (8%) and Trenton Cannon (1%) were minor pieces.
BUF
- Moss Mania
- After a confusing first 2 weeks, the Bills RB situation seems a bit more settled now. Zack Moss has had 56% of the snaps in back to back weeks with Devin Singletary sitting in the mid 40%.
CAR
- CMC Music Company
- Without CMC around, o yeah, let’s remember the Panthers were without their best offensive weapon, it was Hubbard who took just under 50% of the snaps.
- Second in snaps at RB was the previously inactive Rodney Smith that saw 37% of the snaps compared to Royce Freeman’s 17%.
CHI
- Bears Minus Monty
- After Monty left this game, it was 33% Damien Williams and 12% Khalil Herbert. Assuming Damien Williams is healthy, it’s likely he’s the one that sees the majority of the snaps in this backfield.
CIN
- What’s the Mix Without Mixon?
- Joe Mixon left this game in the 4th quarter. So, we don’t have much to go on, but Samaje Perine saw 28% compared to Chris Evans 3%. Mixon has gone from week to week to day to day. Now, hour by hour, we wait for new information so that we have up to the minute information for Sunday.
- Without Tee Higgins in week 4, I wrote last week that I thought Auden Tate might see a significant bump. Well, after 57% of the snaps this week, both Auden Tate (34%) and the other Mike Thomas (31%) split snaps.
CLE
- OBJ, no, not what Urban Meyer asked that woman for, Odell Beckham Jr.
- After only 64% snap rate in his first week back, he jumped to 81% in his 2nd week. DPJ and Rashard Higgins were within 5 snaps of each other for WR2 honors.
- This was the first week of the season that Kareem Hunt out snapped Nick Chubb.
DAL
- Receiving Options, but Will There Be Enough Receptions
- Amari Cooper missed part of this game with a hamstring. It’s clear that next up would be Cedrick Wilson who clocked 60% of the snaps this week.
- Dalton Schultz saw a season high 83% snap rate.
DEN
- Bridge the Gap Until Jeudy Lock(s) It In
- It’s Courtland Sutton and then Tim Patrick at WR1 and WR2. Kendall Hilton (43%) and newly signed David Moore (signed in week 3, 31%) split WR3 duties sans Jeudy and Hamler.
DET
- Staying Shwifty
- Swift saw a season high snap rate at 73%.
- Quintez Cephus and Kalif Raymond continue to be 1 and 2 in WR snaps. Amon Ra St. Brown was only 2 snaps behind Kalif this week.
GB
- Dillon Day
- The Packers lead most of the game and A.J. Dillon saw his high in snap rate at 40%.
- Without MVS, Allen Lazard jumped to 79% and Randall Cobb played just under half of the snaps. 2nd week in a row with Robert Tonyan seeing over 70% of the snaps is a nice sign for him.
HOU
- Not Enough Cooks in the Kitchen
- Outside of Brandin Cooks, there’s not much in Houston for fantasy goodness. David Johnson saw his season high snap rate at 57% FWIW.
IND
- Game Script Pending Snaps
- After Nyheim Hines lead the backfield in week 3’s snaps, Jonthan Taylor took back 51% of the snaps in week 4. Hines and Marlon Mack each had 31%.
- The top 2 WRs were Michael Pittman and Zach Pascal by a significant margin this week. Parris Campbell was sub-50% snaps.
JAX
- Viska SheVaulting Up
- With D.J. Chark leaving this game early with a season ending ankle injury, Laviska Shenault saw 75% of the snaps. The biggest change was actually Tavon Austin though who saw 73% of the snaps sans Chark.
KC
- Maybe More is Less for CEH
- Clyde Edwards-Helaire has seen his snap rate drop each week of the season, but his fantasy owners have seen him perform better over the last 2 weeks. He only saw 52% of the snaps in week 4 with Darrel Williams (36%) and Jerick McKinnon (12%) taking some of the workload off of CEH’s shoulders.
LAC
- Rountree Baby Right Roun
- Larry Rountree has 2 weeks between 25% and 30% (week 1 and 4). After a season high 74% snaps in week 3, Austin Ekeler dropped back to 60% in week 4. I’d guess he’s closer to the 60%-65% rate ROS (as does Rudy’s ROS projections).
LAR
- Returning to NorMichelcy
- After Darrell Henderson missed week 3, he saw 90% of the snaps in week 4. Sony Michel is the clear handcuff, but that’s all he is.
- Robert Woods has also resumed his role of primary WR in the offense. After kind of splitting snaps with Van Jefferson to start the season, Woods has been at 98%, 88% and 96% the last 3 weeks. Van Jefferson saw a season low of 68% of the snaps. As much as I like what we’ve seen from Van Jefferson, I think it’s time to buy Woods and sell Van.
LV
- Just Joshing Around
- After missing a couple weeks, Josh Jacobs returned to get his highest snap rate of the season at 63%. While Kenyan Drake didn’t do much (I’m being very generous), he did get in on 35% of the Raiders snaps.
- As receiving options go, you can pretty much bet on Darren Waller having the most, then Bryan Edwards and Henry Ruggs III, and finally Hunter Renfrow as the WR3.
MIA
- Blew A Gaskin
- Myles Gaskin went from primary back with no competition in the pre-season to 23% in week 4. They didn’t run in the 2nd half, but it’s still not what any Gaskin owners want to see. No, I can’t explain why Malcolm Brown is playing more other than blocking.
- Mike Gesicki’s snap rate has solidified, but for the first week, DeVante Parker out snapped Jaylen Waddle.
MIN
- When Will Dalvin Cook Again?
- In his return, Dalvin Cook played 49% of the snaps with Alexander Mattison taking 34% and Ameer Abdullah at 7%.
NE
- Victory Goes to the Bolden
- Brandon Bolden has taken the James White role and the accompanying snaps with that role. Damien Harris did clock a season high 61% of the snaps in a game that NE tried to keep slow.
- In his return, N’Keal Harry only saw 25% of the snaps. It is still Jakobi Meyers, Nelson Agholor, and Kendrick Bourne, in that order.
NO
- AK87
- Alvin Kamara clocked in at 87% snap rate in week 4. No big surprise there. With Tony Jones Jr. getting injured, Dwayne Washington and Alex Armah split the 8 snaps AK wasn’t out on the field for. These are not starting options.
NYG
- One Big Golladay
- Missing Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton, it was Kenny Golladay (92%) and Kadarius Toney (78%) that took the lead WR spots. John Ross saw 44% in his first action of the season.
- Evan Engram went from 56% in week 3 to 68% in week 4. We’ll see where that snap count ends up when he’s fully healthy.
NYJ
- Crowdered Backfield
- While the Jets RB situation is still a mess, Michael Carter saw his season high (although not out of the norm) in snap rate at 51%. It wasn’t so much that Carter saw more snaps, but that he lead the team with Ty Johnson and Tevin Coleman split the remaining touches.
- Jamison Crowder got 62% of the snaps in his first game of the season, but the Jets were also without Elijah Moore who missed with a concussion. For my fellow Denzel Mims truthers, at least he saw 10 snaps in this one.
PHI
- Is Gainwell Gaining?
- Not in snap count at least. He’s still sitting pretty solidly in the 30%-40% snap rate with Miles Sanders taking 60%-70%.
- Ertz finally showed some life in the last 2 weeks, but I’d still rather bet on a TE that wasn’t the TE2 on his own team (averaging ~56% snap rate).
PIT
- Najeenanajar, How Is That Hard to Say?
- For the first week all season, Najee didn’t register 95% or more of the snaps. Still leads all RBs in snaps with an 80% showing this week.
- When all 3 WRs have been healthy this year, the snaps go Juju, Diontae, and then Claypool.
SEA
- Coffee With Carson and Collins
- Alex Collins saw a season high of 39% snaps in week 4. There haven’t been any reports that Chris Carson was injured, so his workload may not be quite as significant as we had hoped. I have always been a fan of Alex Collins, and he would be an interesting pickup for in slightly deeper leagues.
SF
- Sermon Subpoenas
- Trey Sermon has been between 50% and 60% for the last 2 weeks. Yes, I’m sure you’ll hear he’s being out snapped by Kyle Juszczyk, but he is the fullback for the team and is used to block even on passing downs.
- Deebo Samuel is the clear WR1 here. Brandon Aiyuk saw a bump in week 3 to 86%, but fell back to 68% in week 4. He’s the WR2, but it’s a situation where he’s getting less snaps than your typical WR2 compared to the team’s WR1.
TB
- Four-show and 7 Years Ago
- Leo Fournette saw 83% of the snaps without Giovani Bernard available to the Bucs. For the time being, it seems like Fournette is the safer play in this backfield.
- It’s still Mike Evans and Chris Godwin as the clear WR1 and WR2 with Antonio Brown coming in as the WR3. Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard split the TE snaps equally without Gronk in week 4.
TEN
- Jones-ing for Some Receivers
- With A.J. Brown and Julio Jones missing in this one, Nick Westbrook lead the team in snaps at WR with Josh Reynolds a close 2nd.
- Derrick Henry only played on 60% of the snaps, but I wouldn’t worry too much as he still had 35 touches.
WAS
- Ricky’s Seal of Approval
- With Logan Thomas leaving early, it was Ricky Seals-Jones that took the snaps at TE for the WFT. Dyami Brown and Adam Humphries pretty much split WR2 duties in this one behind Terry.
- J.D. McKissic continues to have his role as the primary 3rd down back, taking 42% of the snaps to Antonio Gibson’s 58%.
