Well, this is a matchup that makes me think: Man, what did I do this week to deserve this? And on a Thursday night no less! You know we’re going to see a 3-0 game here, and if we’re lucky, maybe it’ll be 6-3. I could even see a 1-0 game. Honestly. I mean, one can only hope that we get a safety out of this so we can at least have a few laughs. Oh, god, I almost forgot this marks the debut of Phil f*cking Simms, and his favorite enabler, Jim Nantz. What. The. Hell. Not only that, but we have a hobbled Sammy Watkins to deal with, Tyrod Taylor trying to climb himself back into relevance, and a Jets offense that’s more boring than Cris Collinsworth hyping up Tom Brady. I guess this is my way of telling you to make sure all your favorite alcohol beverages and antacids are stocked up. And probably get your ear plugs, and probably blindfolds in the ready position…

It’s been well documented that the dumpster fire the 49ers transformed themselves into this offseason has been a resounding success and ahead of schedule thus far, six games into the regular season. And by success, I mean the fire has gotten bigger, and the dumpster has stayed the same size. In fact, the only redeeming quality at this point is the fact that Jim Tomsula looks to be about as batsh*t crazy as Jim Harbaugh was when being physically emotive. Is it enough to keep the 49ers afloat this season? Of course not, but it certainly improves their watchability. Meanwhile, schadenfreude is in full bloom for the Seattle Seahawks as they sit a woeful 2-4 and are battling the aforementioned dumpster fires 49ers for last place in a division that usually has the Cardinals and Rams taking carry of the NFC West basement. That fact right there makes this game worthy of my attention, even if it is Thursday Night Football. Get your recovery water folks, this should be a good one!

I have no idea what’s going on here, but what ever it is, probably needs more doctor.

Warning: This is a Ray Rice free zone. And as much as we’d like to adhere to this policy on Razzball tonight and in the future, you’d be crazy to think that the NFL Network will. And if ESPN and their mighty journalistic integrity are any indication of what we’re in store tonight, we’re f*cked. And what probably doesn’t take attention away from domestic violence is the fact that domestic abuse survivor, Rihanna, will be performing with Jay-Z (more like Jay-Y, amiright folks?) before the game. Well, to the NFL’s credit, at least they didn’t ask Chris Brown to perform… But, luckily for us, there’s actually going to be football going on between two franchises that really seem to dislike each other. So let’s bring in the football so we can forget everything else for a few hours. Well, okay, you’re right, with the commercials, it’s more like five hours.

Judge…audience…people of the jury. What we have here today in front of us is a case so vile…so heinous…so uncomfortably dramatized by the writer that we must bring it to light so that others might find a way to ease this poor man’s suffering. BenJarvus Green-Ellis has been a stand-up RB2 for most of the year and his efforts have gone virtually ignored. For every bright and shiny new running back toy we’ve found on the waiver wire, whether it was Bryce Brown or David Wilson, BJGE has been the rock that has guided his team to glory and what has he been given? Has he received recognition? Has he received acceptance? Does he even receive many lede paragraphs? No! He goes about his business every week just like he did this week with 106 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries to go over 100 yards rushing for the 4th time in 5 weeks. Ladies and Gentleman of the jury I ask you, are those the numbers of a man who deserves such disregard? If he were on your fantasy football team would you simply say ‘yeah, I benched him for Jonathan Dwyer this week, so what?’. No, it’s high time we realize that Green-Ellis has been one of the most consistent backs to own this year and sing his praises. And with that, the defense rests *Que good ‘ole Eric Clapton guitarin*. Ok, that was fun now back to real fantasy talk. I almost wrote a sleeper post about him in the off-season but got scared when I heard Bernard Scott would split touches with him. I like my backs to be masters of their backfield domain and I rarely buy into the 50/50 or 60/40 splits if they’re announced ahead of time. Coming into Thursday Night Football, BJGE was on the cusp of RB1 territory with the 14th most points by a Running Back on the season in PPR formats and has been the 7th best back in the same setting over the last 4 weeks. Now I’m not telling you it’s been beautiful. Far from it. There were some rough weeks to start the year but those are all in the past now. The Law Firm has been true to his moniker: fair, just and insanely boring unless you dramatize the crap out of it a la Dick Wolf. In other 2012 fantasy football news from Thursday Night Football…

I’m confused, I tell you.  Flat out, straight up consternated.  While everyone out there said Chris Johnson was done, I believed.  Then he underperformed vs the Lions who gave up 44 points.  Then he overperformed vs a Houston defense that normally doesn’t give up much on the ground.  Then he went back to being an […]

Hello again Razzball readers! I’ve really been enjoying contributing to Razzball so far and I look forward to answering more questions and helping more fantasy teams. Asher Molk and I will be working as a team and editing each other’s columns so feel free to ask either of us any questions; we’d love to help! […]
