It’s Thanksgiving! I hope your morning is going more smoothly than mine is, there’s nothing like waking up to a still frozen turkey that you put in the fridge to thaw out on Monday. The virtual guests are going to be very uncomfortable watching me have a meltdown. At least the Ravens and Steelers battle it out tonight in what should be one of the most exciting Thanksgiving games that we’ve seen in years. Oh wait, that got pushed back until Sunday? We’re off to a rough start on Thanksgiving. It sort of makes me want to board a plane and just get out of dodge like the mayor of Denver.

Picks ATS

Betting on the Thanksgiving games is a tradition as old as the legalization of gambling in your specific state or when you decided to say screw it and just opened up an offshore account. Donkey Teeth has texted me his picks and I have mine, and here is what we came up with.

Houston Texans (-3) at Detroit Lions

Donkey Teeth: Houston

MB: Detroit. I’m going against conventional wisdom here and taking the home team in the battle of two bad teams. D’Andre Swift not being on the field again following a zero point effort from this offense against Carolina is going to be a lot to overcome, but hey, maybe this time Kerryon Johnson gets it done.

Washington Football Team (+3) at Dallas Cowboys

DonkeyTeeth: Cowboys

MB: I’ll happily take the field goal and roll with Washington here. Just a few weeks back, Washington beat this same Dallas team 20-3. Gallagher is probably in the midst of suing  Mike McCarthy for stealing his act before the Vikings game instead of coming up with his appearance fee. Come on, McCarthy. It’s a tough time for comedians right now.

Injury Report

D’Andre Swift – Doubtful

Kenny Golladay – Out

Danny Amendola – Out

Randall Cobb – Out

Kenny Stills – Out

Terry McLaurin – Questionable

Happy thanksgiving! So I already clinched a playoff spot but my RBs are really banged up. My league has this rule where you can only roster 5 RBs regardless if you are using them on IR. So here is my current RBs:

    Zeke
    Gibson
    Salvon Ahmed
    David Johnson (IR)
    Joe Mixon (IR)

So I was thinking about dropping Ahmed for Myles Gaskin (who just got activated). Would you do that or drop maybe like David Johnson or just be patient to see if Ahmed is the guy.

I’d rather just drop David Johnson, not sure when you’re every going to be happy using him

    Thanks, MB!

You are REALLY optimistic about Montgomery at GB (RB9). I’m curious, why? Also, If Swift were to play this afternoon, would you have him ranked higher/lower than Montgomery?

    Thanks!

I have him at RB13 I think. Algorithm must take him there for standard scoring. But yes I am! Green Bay is awful against the run. I think we could see a really nice Montgomery game and it hopefully he finds the endzone

Imagine if people are deciding on a player playing today versus on Sunday, opts for the Sunday player – only for that game to get impacted cause of Covid? I feel like everyday there’s more news on that front… today the Browns?

16 team dynasty. PPR, 1 QB, 1 TE, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 K, 1 DEF. Right now locked into the playoffs so just trying to play around with fungible end of roster spots with an eye towards the future. For context, roster makeup is QB-deshaun, big ben, RB-conner, hunt, leveon, duke, hyde, brian hill, ballage, jordan wilkins, hasty (IR), WR-julio, tyreek, jakobi, golladay, gage, cephus, alshon, jalen guyton, TE-waller, alie-cox, asiasi (IR), Albert O (IR), DEF-Mia, LAC
Right now guys i’d consider dropping are alshon, jalen guyton, quintez cephus, and jordan wilkins.
Guys available on the wire, combo of players that may help this year or future…austin mack, prosise, trubisky, marcus johnson, hollister, auden tate, richie james, cam sims, steven sims, scotty miller, parham, zaccheaus, malcolm perry, marquez callaway

Would you grab any of the guys available? If so, who would you drop?

    Thanks!

Standard scoring league. 12 point favorite this week so a bit different outlook on some tough calls. Roster and questions below.

    Tannehill, Carr (play 1)
Cook, Monty, Gaskin, Gallman, Hill (play 3)
Julio, Golladay, Boyd, Fulgham (play 2)
Bears, Packers (streamed Pack v Bears)

    1. Which QB?
    2. Cook and which two?
    3. Julio likely out or super risky at best. Play Fulgham or drop him fior Beasley (Chargers), Meyers (Cards) or Slayton (at Bengals)?

Love the integrity at ESPN. Fields and Co make a big deal about not allowing Hill to get QB points in the TE spot. Big headlines proclaim Hill is not eligible at TE. Then peel away the onion and they will allow him to get TE points if you don’t make any roster moves and keep him in the TE slot.
My guess is that this is a programming issue. My other guess is that ESPN blows
