This article lists the top positional need(s) for each NFC team as it relates to fantasy football in 2026.

  • Arizona Cardinals
    • Quarterback
      • Kyler Murray is on his way out of Arizona and while Jacoby Brissett stood in valiantly last season, the Cardinals aren’t winning games. We care about fantasy points – Brissett gave us those. ARI cares about wins – neither of these guys have produced.
      • Possible fit: Malik Willis
  • Atlanta Falcons
    • Wide Receiver
      • They need security at quarterback as well, but weapons alongside Drake London are necessary for whomever plays quarterback. Kyle Pitts is also a free agent opening another spot.
      • Possible fit: Rashid Shaheed, Wan’dale Robinson, Alec Pierce
  • Carolina Panthers
    • Tight End
      • The Panthers do not have a tight end on the roster right now. Three promising receivers, two solid running backs and Bryce Young who has shown flashes are a nice base. They need a pass catching tight end.
      • Possible fit: Cade Otton
  • Chicago Bears
    • Running Back / Wide Receiver Depth
      • They have the pieces in place at all positions, but I could see both D’Andre Swift and DJ Moore leaving. They could use another RB and/or WR for depth.
      • Possible fits: Rachaad White, Michael Carter / Christian Kirk, Marquise Brown
  • Dallas Cowboys
    • Running Back Depth
      • I see George Pickens receiving the franchise tag and staying in Dallas with CeeDee Lamb. Javonte Williams inked a deal to be the starter, but we saw him slow his pace in the second half. DAL could use another back able to shoulder the load or change of pace.
      • Possible fits: Sean Tucker, Brian Robinson, Kimani Vidal
  • Detroit Lions
    • Wide Receiver…?
      • The Lions are loaded. They just need to stay healthy. Another option at wideout could help diversify the pass game and add depth, but they’re good as is.
      • Possible fit: Keenan Allen
  • Green Bay Packers
    • Running Back and Tight End Depth
      • Josh Jacobs, six wide receivers and Tucker Kraft (when healthy) are just fine. Packers need more bodies to cover injuries.
      • Possible fits: Kimani Vidal, Isiah Pacheco / Tyler Higbee
  • Los Angeles Rams
    • Wide Receiver Depth
      • Puka Nacua is arguably the best receiver in the league. Davante Adams is an elite second option. They have two quality running backs and a few tight ends. Another wide out could only help Matthew Stafford.
      • Possible fits: Marquise Brown, Alec Pierce. Rashid Shaheed
  • Minnesota Vikings
    • Quarterback and Running Back
      • JJ McCarthy ain’t it… not yet at least. Aaron Jones is 31 and Jordan Mason will be 27. Both also tend to get injured.
      • Possible fits: Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco / Sean Tucker, Kimani Vidal
  • New Orleans Saints
    • Everything
      • Tyler Shough is fun, but unproven. Alvin Kamara might be “done”. Chris Olave is amazing, but one concussion away from maybe being finished for his career. They need depth.
      • Possible fits: Russell Wilson / Sean Tucker, Kimani Vidal / Romeo Doubs, Wan’dale Robinson
  • New York Giants
    • Overall Depth
      • Giants have an exciting young squad coming in and back from injury, but depth is necessary all around.
      • Possible fits: Marcus Mariota / Najee Harris / Romeo Doubs, Keenan Allen, Marquise Brown
  • Philadelphia Eagles
    • Running Back and Wide Receiver Depth (maybe Right End)
      • I expect AJ Brown to be traded. Saquon Barkley isn’t “Saquon” anymore. May need a tight end if Dallas Goedert leaves in free agency.
      • Possible fits: Sean Tucker / Keenan Allen, Rashid Shaheed / Cade Otton
  • San Francisco 49ers
    • Wide Receiver
      • Brandon Aiyuk is out. The receiving corps tends to suffer injuries throughout the season. More possession and field stretching bodies will help.
      • Possible fits: Alec Pierce, Deebo Samuel
  • Seattle Seahawks
    • Wide Receiver and Tight End
      • I expect Kenneth Walker to receive the franchise tag remaining on the Seahawks. With Rashid Shaheed a free agent and AJ Barner fine, but not a definite stud, I’d like to see them take depth.
      • Possible fits: Christian Kirk, Marquise Brown / Chig Okonkwo
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    • Running Back and Tight End Depth
      • The Bucs are stacked at wide receiver. Both Sean Tucker and Rachaad White are free agents. I could see one of them returning, but maybe not. Cade Otton is also a free agent. Let’s pretend they all leave Tampa.
      • Possible fits: Isiah Pacheco, Brian Robinson / Dallas Goedert, David Njoku
  • Washington Commanders
    • Overall Depth
      • Jayden Daniels is returning from injury and Marcus Mariota is a free agent. “Bill” Croskey-Merritt and Chris Rodriguez Jr. are the only running backs on the roster currently. The rest are free agents. I expect Deebo Samuel to be traded back to the 49ers and Zach Ertz is done.
      • Possible fits: Marcus Mariota (resign) / Tyler Allgeier, Najee Harris / Wan’dale Robinson, Christian Kirk / David Njoku
