There are a few theories to why the Bears brought Nick Foles into the quarterback room in Chicago. My guess was that it was to light a fire under two and a half year starter Mitch Trubisky. You know, make him realize that there is a possibility that he wouldn’t be the starter and it would be a motivator. It appears that the Bears are willing to do what it takes to win right now just one year removed from a playoff appearance. They still have a pretty good defense and Allen Robinson in his prime.

Reports suggest that Nick Foles has a slight edge in the pursuit of the starting job over Mitch Trubisky. The Rotoworld blurb continued by saying Mitch is making a bunch of mistakes and struggling with accuracy while Nick has been steady but not spectacular. From a fantasy perspective, Nick Foles is what Anthony Miller and Allen Robinson enthusiasts like myself want to see. While Nick Foles’ ceiling height is that of an upstairs attic in a horror movie, he will at least be able to get the ball to Miller and Robinson without too much of an issue.

Speaking of Anthony Miller, there is some great news on the shoulder front. Miller did team drills on Tuesday. Miller should be a full go in week 1. This is a reminder that Miller had 4 games in the second half of the season with at least 6 receptions. He caught 9 passes in two of them for a combined 258 yards. Miller is currently going outside of the top 50 WRs in fantasy drafts which is ludicrous. If Foles ends up winning the job in Chicago, expect there to be room for the Bears to have two very solid options in the receiving game.

Quick training camp hits

– A.J. Green is already having hamstring issues. Not exactly what you want to hear about somebody who sat out the entire 2019 season. Maybe Jalen Ramsey was right to call Green washed up. Tyler Boyd is being drafted outside of the top 30 WRs. With or without Green on the field, that seems way too cheap. Especially with the immediate upside that Joe Burrow brings to Cincinnati.

– Kenyan Drake is in a walking boot, which is never great news. Kliff Kingsbury called it precautionary and I’m not too worried until we hear more details. Kenyan Drake even said, “no worries, I’m good.” It still wouldn’t be a bad idea to scoop up Chase Edmonds as a handcuff when drafting Drake. Kingsbury has been singing Edmonds’ praises.

– Tyrell Williams has a torn labrum in his shoulder that he’s going to try and play through. It’s Bryan Edwards all the way for me. Edwards has reportedly been fantastic in training camp and I think he’s going to see a lot of snaps and targets. I believe Edwards even had a blurb in my training camp report from last week. He’s a first round NFL talent.

Raheem Mostert reportedly has looked like the best running back in every facet at 49ers training camp. Water is wet. Draft Raheem Mostert, he is very good at his job.

Mike Williams is week to week with a shoulder injury. I have no interest in the Chargers’ passing game in 2020.

Brandon Aiyuk’s hamstring injury appears to be minor. At least that is what is being reported. There also are murmurs that Deebo Samuel could be ready for week 1. That would be huge for the 49er’s offense. Kendrick Bourne has also looked very good in camp. This could end up being a very dangerous offense to go along with a stellar defense.

– Damien Harris has been running AND blocking well in camp. I’ve been very interested in taking fliers on him all summer. Unfortunately, it is a very crowded running back room in New England, but you never know with Belichick.

– It sounds like Joshua Kelly may be edging out Justin Jackson for the second spot on the depth chart in Los Angeles. I like Kelly as a later rookie pick in dynasty and a deep league flier in case Ekeler can’t get it done between the tackles. I think Ekeler is great, but you never know.

– There is a lot of Jonathan Taylor love, but perhaps he’s getting a little over drafted. Yes, he is the most talented back in Indianapolis without a doubt, but Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines have also been very impressive in camp.

N’Keal Harry didn’t practice for 3 days and when he returned to practice, he wasn’t responding well to the heat. I hope this is being overblown because Harry has every opportunity to be a big part of the offense in New England, but this isn’t a very encouraging report.Â
