- Greg Wards is coming off of an 11 target game. It’s hard not to see him duplicating that as he was the only Eagles WR to practice fully this week. Even with some good news on the injury front he’s the only one in the huddle Carson Wentz trusts to throw to right now.
- The Browns RB usage is a hoot right now. To keep two RBs averaging 18 and 16 touches per game they’re taking those opportunities from two amazing WR talents. At least they know what they want. Now trade one or both starting WRs so we can enjoy them again.
- One early season surprise is the Packers early down pass rate. They’re second only to Seattle. Maybe Aaron Rodgers secretly ate real meat. Maybe he’s just 100% healthy for a change. Whatever it is, Cheese is strong this year.
- Mike Davis had a 32% target share last week. CMC=SYSTEM RB!! Not really, but it’s nice to see Davis getting high value touches if you added him.
- It’s tout D.J. Moore week and I a big enough sheep to stay in line. His 350 air yards leads a team that is likely to be chasing often. The smash game hasn’t popped yet but it’s coming.
- Hunter Henry has been targeted 8, 8, and 7 times through 3 games. Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler also got a target surge last week with Justin Herbert in at QB. He’ll be looking Henry’s way more sooner or later.
- Andy Isabella not freed: just 26 snaps to Keesan Johnson’s 46. Apparently doing great things with your few opportunities isn’t enough in Isabella’s case. Maybe DeAndre Hopkins misses a week in the near future and Arizona has no choice.
- Justin Jefferson had 29 routes run to Olabisi Johnson’s 1. The switch is done. Bisi dead. Not surprising that the Vikes eased their rookie in.
- Rob Gronkowski caught 6 of 7 targets and ran a season high 24 routes. Look, I think Gronk is toast, but there’s a non-zero chance he needed a few games to get going. There will be targets to go around with the Tampa Bay WR woes.
- Josh Jacobs is still picking up targets in the passing game (4 last week). Folks are drooling over the lack of WR depth in Las Vegas for Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow. Don’t forget that Jacobs probably gets a slice of that pie, too.
