Another week on the razors edge of pandemic pandemonium is in the books. Positive tests and quarantines abound. Here’s hoping your fantasy assets aren’t tied to a team that may be forced to play without it’s entire offensive line.

  • I’m as happy as the next D’Andre Swift backer that he broke out with two TDs last week. They made up for his still restricted usage of 17 touches to Adrian Peterson’s 16. That could tell two stories. A young back being brought along gradually after an early season soft tissue injury and trending upward. Or a rookie stuck in a rotation by a staff archaic enough to let that matter. We’ll get more proof in this week’s pudding against a Falcons team that has been shredded by pass catching backs.
  • The Steelers look like they’re going to have all of their WRs active for the first game in a few weeks. That will be an interesting rotation. I doubt Chase Claypool is going back to the 30% snap share we saw week one.
  • Justin Jackson handled the lionshare of Chargers RB work prior to the bye week with 59% of the snaps and 20/32 RB touches. He’s been working his way back to full health and the week of surely helped. Anthony Lynn has also showed his old fashioned outlook on rookies despite them being the better option.
  • Jerick McKinnon has averaged 3.0 yards on touches the past two weeks. That probably played into JaMycal Hasty getting 9 rushes on 15 snaps after losing Raheem Mostert to a sprained ankle. The 49ers face a New England team that has been pretty conservative on the run/pass split. Kyle Shanahan should be able to call all the rushing plays his heart desires.
  • People are going to debate the dependability of Travis Fulgham all season. Probably even the rest of his career. The stat I look to on Fulgham is his 109 average air yards per game. That’s really solid considering the state of the team’s offensive line and the lack of time Carson Wentz has.
  • The Bills kept the training wheels on recently injured Zack Moss in his return to action. He saw just 5 touches playing 25% of the snaps.
  • With Leonard Fournette ailing Ronald Jones has handled 76 out of 99 RB touches in the past three weeks. He has the fantasy points to prove it. Here’s hoping Fournette stays a backup.
  • Gabriel Davis gets another shot to win our deep threat affection after whiffing in John Brown’s last absence. He still sports a healthy 12.7 ADOT. Josh Allen should be targeting him down field facing an exploitable Jets secondary.
  • Last week I mentioned Mecole Hardman slotting into Sammy Watkins role after his injury. It appears that was game plan dependant as Byron Pringle logged 28 snaps to Hardman’s 29. It could have something to do with KC rushing a season high 45 times and how they view Hardman as a blocker.Â
