It is Week 11, and I hope you are fighting for a playoff spot.  With a group of teams on bye, this could be a pivotal week for you.  Also, this when some fantasy analysts/writers and players become burned out.  Not us here @Razzball.  We are here all year and even cover for each other if something comes up.  Speaking of burned out, I just got back from vacation and am trying to settle back into football mode.  Remember, I do not provide chalky names in this column.  I dig deeper to help you with the harder roster assignments.  Here we go again…onto my Week 11 Start recommendations.

Start These Players:

  • Position: QB
  • Player: Brock Purdy
  • Week 3 Opponent: home versus the Seattle Seahawks

Purdy just dropped a season high 353 yards on the Bucs.  His reward is the hapless Seahawks defense coming to town.  If you like historical numbers, look no further than Purdy’s 4-0 record with over 1,000 passing yards and an 8-2 TD-INT ratio against Seattle to convince you he is a smash play this week.    Sneaky Play: Bo Nix is boring and successful for fantasy.  As I mentioned on our Tuesday podcast, if you need 240 yards passing, two TDs, and 40ish rushing yards from your QB floor, then Nix is your guy.  Home against the Falcons leans toward Nix needing to throw a little more this week to keep up with the Falcons offense.  We know at this point the Broncos are not a huge rushing threat, so look for Nix to use his arm (and legs) in an attempt to win Week 11.

  • Position: RB
  • Player: Chase Brown
  • Week 3 Opponent: at the Los Angeles Chargers

Yes, the Chargers are a tough run defense.  I counter that with ‘100% snap share in Week 10” from Chase BrownTee Higgins may not play again this week, and Ja’Marr Chase will command a ton of attention opening more running lanes for Brown.  At this point in the season we all want volume especially from our RBs and Brown is certainly delivering on that ask.  Play Brown with confidence this week if for no other reason than there is simply not a RB2 to speak of looking to vulture touches.  Sneaky Play: Aaron Jones is nursing an injured chest that caused him to be carted off the field in Week 10.  This is the same injury that plagued him earlier in the year which makes it a tad more concerning.  In steps our old friend Cam Akers.  Yes, the same Cam Akers that has done nothing more than disappoint every time you added him from the waiver wire and started him.  Consider Akers knows the offense and the Vikings traded for him a couple of weeks back.  With Ty Chandler filling the third down/passing role, Akers could be in for additional touches and is a solid FLEX start if Jones sits or is considered to be limited.

  • Position: WR
  • Player: Cedric Tillman
  • Week 3 Opponent: at the New Orleans Saints

Remember when the Saints were stopping offenses?  Me either.  Ever heard of a Jameis Winston revenge game?  Me, too.  This feels like the perfect storm for the second year Browns WR.  Since the trade of Amari Cooper to the Bills, Tillman has seen no less than nine targets in a game netting an average of seven receptions for 85 yards and a TD per game.  Those are borderline WR1 numbers.  Add the lack of a true running game and I like Tillman to finish in the Top 10 this week.    Sneaky Play: Mike Williams might be back.  Who would have thought that leaving an Aaron Rodgers-led offense for a Russell Wilson-led offense would increase the value of a WR?  I had Mike Williams on my 2025 sleeper WR bingo card.  Needless to say, I have not considered that pick a win.  There is still some life in Big Game Mike, and I like him home against Baltimore who have not figured out how to stop most offenses.  Look for Williams to see more targets in Week 11 as Russ gets more confidence in the big bodied WR.

  • Position: TE
  • Player: T.J. Hockenson
  • Week 3 Opponent:  at the Tennessee Titans

Hockenson announced his return in Week 10 with 15 PPR points.  Justin Jefferson will continue to garner most of the targets in this offense but nine targets for eight receptions from your TE is borderline elite.  Since Jordan Addison has not stepped up to claim the WR2 position, it is safe to consider Hockenson the second option for Sam Darnold.  Akin to my volume comment above about RBs, I feel volume is worth its weight in gold for the TE position.  Hockenson could be a league winner from the shaky TE position.  Sneaky Play: Jake Ferguson is still good.  The QB situation for Dallas is not so good.  The Cowboys welcome the Houston Texans to Jerrah’s World in a battle for the state of Texas.  OK, I blew that up more than necessary.  Sorry, I am trying find something to be excited about with this matchup.  I cannot figure out the Texans defense this season so I like Ferguson in an offense that will need to get rid of the ball quickly.  That seems to bode well for the TE position.
