    Hi Donkey

    No week 17 for me
I already WON, sorry, CRUSHED the league with my keeper team
13-1, one loss in my biggest Bye week1
Best scores by far and an insane average points per week

NOW commish wants to revamp the league, changing 2 managers and keeping 4 players instead of 5 (So competition would be more fair vs the weaker teams)

i already kept : Kamara RB DV Adams WR and Metcalf WR
i’ve lost Aaron Jones to one of the new teams
and i can keep one more :
RB Chubb – Joe Mixon (IR)
WR: Diggs – AJ Brown – Justin Jefferson – CeeDee Lamb –
yeah i know i was “PEPPERSTUFFED” at WR :)
QB : Allen – DS Watson

    referring to your Dynasty ranks ;
    i picked Metcalf (1) DVA (6) Kamara (9)
    now it’s between Chubb (10) AJB (4) Jefe (11) and Diggs (14)

AJB looks like a no-brainer to you , and i would be already RED HOT CHILLY at WR
but i really like my Chubb
and Jefe could be the real deal for the future
Diggs is such a team carrier : almost 1500 yards this season>>> POINTS each weeks

    your advice ?

    Nick

      Hey Nick, congrats man!

There’s a big difference between dynasty (retain your entire team) and keeper leagues. In dynasty, age and expected career longevity are big factors which is why I rank wide receivers so aggressively.

In your league I would just keep the four most valuable players for 2021. I think that’s Kamara, Chubb, Adams, Metcalf.

Murray might be a bit high especially in a must win for the Rams – that first meeting has me giving pause that Murray will score over 20 FPs this week

It’s must win for both of them. Maybe a little aggressive if Kyler isn’t 100% but I think they put all their cards on the table for this one which means a lot of Murray rushing yards.

    Whats up donkey,

I’ve got a D/ST conundrum. I have both the rams and steelers on my team, with the opportunity to pickup the cowboys, Chargers (against backup chiefs QB), or the cardinals (against backup rams QB). With pitt planning on sitting defensive starters, would you still play the rams? Finals matchup is still tight, so looking more for a solid floor option than a boom/bust candidate

      Hey RTM,

Yeah I’d still go with the Rams.

      Happy new year!

Who is starting at RB for KC? Darwin Thompson or Darrel Williams?

Guessing Darwin but it’s a situation I’d like to avoid if possible. Other options?

other RBs on my staff right now are Dobbins, Malcolm Brown, Kenyan Drake… all have issues with matchups/injuries right now

I like all of those a bit more. Have them ranked Dobbins, Brown, Drake…

all 3 of those due to other injuries should get large shares of backfield (bigger than normal in all of them likely)

There are 17 weeks of football. You play fantasy football to make watching football that much more enjoyable. People who don’t play Week 17 are weak.

What would you say to an owner in a big money league who dominated all season with Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Stefon Diggs on their team? Doesn’t make sense to me when every season there’s teams resting elite fantasy players in preparation for the playoffs.

I could see an argument to have a championship matchup that combines weeks 16 and 17. Still not crazy about that, but it’s far better than putting everything on a crapshoot week 17 championship in my opinion.

      • LaRockakis says:
        (link)

I would ask him to read the rules of the league that he signed up to play. Dominating weeks 1-16 and not being able to adapt to whatever challenges week 17 brings is short-sighted. I completely understand “why” most people don’t like to play week 17, but it’s just so lame. It’s a 17 week season. Prepare for it. Winning in the regular season doesn’t matter if you can’t finish the job. Just my 2 cents. But I am very anti “anti week 17” people. The season is 17 weeks. Be prepared, as the hyenas say.

There’s so much luck involved in fantasy football already (relative to baseball) I don’t know why we want to add in even more luck and randomness with a week 17 championship. Like Eli said, we don’t always have any idea which studs will be rested for the entire 2nd half just because. Losing (or winning) that way just isn’t fun to me.

          But to each their own…

i use week 16 + 17 in one dynasty spot. but even then, i get the argument for never using it at all (week 17). we could put out a list right now (and then another larger one after we SEE week 17) of players that simply didn’t play nearly a full game (this includes superstar players too); the roster that’s optimal simply doesn’t resemble your week 1-16 one. and in many cases you wouldn’t even know who to bench sometimes. it’s a LOT of added these things:
        1. depth (this speaks to being able to use week 17)
        2. luck
        3. guesswork as to who to bench (numerous people will play like half the game or less)

so if you like the idea of adding luck to what’s already the most luck based fantasy sport, by all means have at it.

        • LaRockakis says:

I understand what you’re saying, but the season is 17 weeks. You know your studs aren’t playing week 17 before the draft, so you strategize accordingly. It just seems so weak to me that people don’t play the final week because the “best” guys don’t play. Yeah, but you knew that before the year even started. So if you waited until waivers after week 16, youre hoping and praying. It’s a 17 week season, and I like playing the WHOLE season. Randomness happens in every week.
