Filling in for Matt this week on starts of the week! It sounds like Matt has officially defeated Hurricane Milton so he will be back at it next week. For now, you are stuck listening to good ole me! Let’s break down my favorite start and sneaky start  by position for Week 6!

Starts of The Week

  • Player: Caleb Williams
  • Position: QB
  • Matchup: Jacksonville Jaguars

Caleb Williams has looked like he has hit his stride over the past few weeks, throwing for over 300 yards and two touchdowns in two of his last three games. Granted, these performances came against two top-eight matchups in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. However, he gets the Jaguars in Week 6 for the kids keeping track, who have allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

  • Player: Najee Harris
  • Position: RB
  • Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders

Najee Harris has been anything but exciting this season. Over the first five games of 2023, Harris has scored between 8.4 and 13.6 fantasy points in each game. This high floor offers security for fantasy managers, but hasn’t won anyone weeks as of yet. This week he faces a Raiders team that just allowed a similar RB in Javonte Williams to a season high 16.1 PPR points.

  • Player: Zay Flowers
  • Position: WR
  • Matchup: Washington Commanders

Zay Flowers has been a big up and down this season. Through Week 5, he has two games with 19 points or more and two with under six points in PPR. The good news for fantasy managers is Flowers struggles could be contributed to his tough schedule as he has yet to face a Top 10 matchup out wide in 2024. This week he will get just that as he faces the Commanders who have allowed the 8th most fantasy points out wide this season.

  • Player: Zach Ertz
  • Position: TE
  • Matchup: Baltimore Ravens

Zach Ertz has quietly been involved in the Commanders offense this season. Among TEs Ertz has seen the 11th most targets, receptions and is Top 20 in receiving yards. The main issue with Ertz is he has yet to find the end zone this season. Even though he might not find the end zone this week there should be plenty of volume vs. the high powered Ravens offense. The Ravens are Top 10 in fantasy points allowed to TEs. This includes giving up six receptions or more to TEs in  4 of 5 games.

Sneaky Starts

Alright folks, injuries happen and the bye weeks are now here. You might be asking yourself “I am desperate so I need a deep name.”  Well, this is the section for you. This will not be pretty, but these guys have great matchups in Week 6.

QB Sneaky Start (Daniel Jones vs. The Bengals)  – The Bengals are a top 5 matchup for QBs and Jones is coming off his best game of the year.

RB Sneaky Start (Tyler Allgeier vs. the Panthers)  – The Panthers allow the most fantasy points to RBs including allowing two RBs to have double digit fantasy points in three of five games.

WR Sneaky Start (Michael Wilson vs. the Packers) – The Packers have given up the 3rd most fantasy points out wide this season.

TE Sneaky Start (Theo Johnson vs. the Bengals) – With Malik Nabers out, Johnson quietly had his best game of the year going for 5-48 vs. the Seahawks in Week 5.
