Enough already with the injuries!  I know the in-game type injuries kicked me when I was already down due to the bye weeks as players like Nico Collins (hamstring), De’Von Achane (concussion), Josh Allen (avoids concussion protocol), Zack Moss (ankle), and even my one share of Jake Moody (high ankle) took a portion of Sunday off to recover.  Add in names I do not roster such as Aaron Jones (hip – was off to a great start in London and in general), Rhamondre Stevenson (knee – and appeared back in the teams good graces w/no fumble in Week 5), David Njoku (knee), and Aaron Rodgers (SuperFlex only – yawn, nobody outside of Jets nation cares at this point), and we have another wonky Sunday to look back on.  Alas, we, you and me, do not look back. We look forward.  Here we go, onto Week 6 together!

What now?  Well, we tend to our Week 5 wounds, and welcome back the Eagles, Chargers, Titans, and Lions while prepping for the absence of the Chiefs, Rams, Dolphins, and Vikings take a seat on the couch this week.  Good news is I do think all referees will work normal hours even with the Chiefs off this week.

While working on your Week 6 lineups, peek at the Bears and Cowboys who will be off in Week 7.

WAIVERS:

ADD OF THE WEEK = Joe Flacco – 8% rostered: During our Sunday Start-Sit show on You Tube (yes, that plug was intentional), we talked about how fun it would be to have Joe Flacco as your bye week QB filler.  Man, oh man, did Flacco make us look like geniuses.  That is hard to do with our group!  Flacco went 33-44 for 359 yards and 3 TDs while adding a brisk 22 yards on the ground.  The old man still has it.  Keep an eye on the Anthony Richarson injury situation.  If he misses another game, fire up Flacco against the Titans with confidence.

Daniel Jones – 9% rostered: Mr. Dimes is averaging almost 20 points per game over his last four.  I will happily take that during the bye weeks considering he was a free waiver get or cost virtually nothing during your draft.  In Week 6, he gets a Bengals defense that has proven incapable of stopping any NFL offense at this point.

Honorable Mention/Cheaper Options:

QB: Bo Nix – 10% rostered: It’s not pretty but it is effective (at times).  Nix is a deep add. And you must be really hurting to throw him in your lineup.  I see him as a SuperFlex option over a 1QB league filler.  24 points is at least enough to make me pay attention.

RB: Tank Bigsby – 23% rostered.  I want to say this came out of nowhere, but I know that not to be true.  Travis Etienne has looked pedestrian and Bigsby has been creeping into the picture over the last couple of weeks, and then BOOM, 13 carries, 101 yards and two huge TDs in a shootout against the Colts.  At this point, I think Bigsby is a must-add and is probably the top waiver add if Anthony Richardson comes back in Week 6.

Honorable Mention/Cheaper Options:

Tyrone Tracy – 23% rostered: Talk about making the most of an opportunity!  Tracy exploded in Week 5, with Devin Singletary out, with 18 carries for 129 yards.  The only downfall I can find is Tracy himself did not find the end zone.  Another wait and see situation with Singletary will help you determine if you should add Tracy or pass as he goes back to NYG RB2 status.

Trey Sermon – 1% rostered: Jonathan Taylor could miss another week or two so consider the RB that appeared to be option one for the Colts.  He is a journeyman NFL RB, so know he is only a bye week or injury fill-in.  Sermon is NOT a long-term solution for your RB issues.

Jaylen Wright – 8% rostered: This is a ‘just in case’ insurance policy type addition.  As previously mentioned, the Phins are on bye this week.  That week off may give De’Von Achane sufficient time to clear concussion protocol.  The flip side to this is that it will also give Raheem Mostert most run with the first team offense during the off week.  Wright is a speculative add, not a player you should use FAAB or waiver priority to acquire.

WR: I would recommend Josh Downs – 40% rostered with more authority if I thought Joe Flacco was sticking as the QB1 in Indy.  Again, keep an eye on Richardson’s status.  Downs loses value with Ricardson under center and becomes a low-end WR2 with Flacco chucking the rock.

Honorable Mention/Cheaper Options:

JuJu Smith-Schuster – 7% rostered (only KC WR that has impressed since the Rashee Rice injury)

Darius Slayton – 3% rostered (no Nabers; excellent Week 5)

Tre Tucker – 18% rostered (came back to Earth in Week 5)

Joshua Palmer/Quentin Johnston – 17%/28% rostered (back from bye; let’s see what Herbert can do with these two before we force add them)

Jaylen Tolbert – 7% rostered (looked good on SNF, but this is CeeDee’s team)

Michael Wilson – 9% rostered (getting targets, not doing a ton with them)

TE: I told you to take a chance on Tucker Kraft – 62% rostered.  Based solely on my recommendation, Kraft moved from 4% to 6% rostered.  Not really, but I will take the win.  Did you take advantage of my advice, and have the guts to start him?  Ladies and Gentlemen, the greatest TE to ever play the game, Mr. Tucker Kraft is here to save your 2024 fantasy football season.  GO PACK GO!!!

If you are 0-5, you can officially panic.  Start the fire sale now.  Sell high on names that have overperformed.  Remake your roster.  If you are 1-4 or better, stay the course.  It is a long season.
