Week 6 is in the books, and we have a handful of new/lingering significant injuries.  The Buccaneers lost ROY front runner Emeka Egbuka to a hamstring injury in the Sunday afternoon game versus the depleted 49ers.  Word is the rookies WR is headed for an MRI early this week.  With the Week 9 bye looming for Tampa Bay, we may see Egbuka shelved for the next two weeks.  Mike Evans is creeping back toward playing which should help the NFC South leading Bucs, but we need to keep an eye on the injury report considering it is littered with Egbuka, Evans, Godwin, and Bucky.  Somehow, some way, Baker has carried this team to 5-1.  Additional injuries without a lot of news to report occurred to Marvin Harrison Jr., Puka Nacua (he returned later in the game), Brock Bowers (missed a second straight week), and Quentin Johnston (late scratch).  The silver lining is those who drafted Rashee Rice get him back in Week 7 and CeeDee Lamb is another week closer to returning.

I just shake my head as each injury occurs because I know we are only six weeks in and there are bound to be additional bumps and bruises headed our way.  The worse news is the Week 8 byemageddon is around the bend.  Stay the course and work your waiver wire!  Week 7 sees Baltimore and Buffalo on bye so make sure you cover down for players from those two teams.  Also, look forward to Week 8 when Arizona, Detroit, Jacksonville, Las Vegas (who cares?), Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle will be on bye.

WAIVERS:

ADD OF THE WEEK = Kimani Vidal – 31% rostered.  How does 18 carries for 124 yards plus three catches for 14 yards and a TD sound to you?  Sounds amazing to me for a player widely available heading into Week 7.  It appears Vidal laid claim to the RB1 job for the Chargers while Hassan Haskins only had seven total touches but is 55% rostered.  Get off your wallet and pay up for Vidal!

QB: Well, folks, the usual suspects are still on your waiver wire.  Yes, even Uncle Joe Flacco – 8% rostered is widely available.  He looked much better in his first start for the Bengals than did Jake Browning in his stint covering for Joe Burrow.  Some of the other waiver wire fodder looked good in Week 6 including Sam Darnold, Aaron Rodgers, Jaxson Dart, and Bryce Young.

RB: I touted Kenneth Gainwell – 42% rostered for three straight weeks, and though he did not deliver a TD in Week 6, he did reel in six targets.  He is worthy of a roster spot, and possible a start during the Week 8 bye.  Gainwell has been in the mix for Pittsburgh regardless of Warren’s health, so he is more than a speculative add at this point and just had his bye in Week 5.  I think he is a must roster in all formats.

Honorable Mention/Cheaper Options:

Zonovan “Bam” Knight – 12% rostered took over the revolving door that is the Cardinals backfield with Michael Carter – 55% rostered the secondary option.  I think Emari Demercado – 29% rostered can be dropped after his ‘fumble’ at the goal line in Week 5 and his ankle injury in Week 6.  It was fun while it lasted…or was it?

Hassan Haskins – 55% rostered should only be considered as a low-end handcuff to Vidal at this point.  I would love to give more analysis, but I have none.  Vidal looked much, MUCH better.

Justice Hill – 13% rostered & Keaton Mitchell – 1% rostered are for those of you that like speculative adds.  Derrick Henry has not been Him since Week 1.  I was floored to see a goal line carry go to someone else in Week 6.  It might be time to sit Henry.  Hill and Mitchell should be free, no FAAB / Waiver Priority due to the Ravens being on bye in Week 7.  Deep stashes only.

Kendrick Bourne – WR – 35% rostered: Still available in well over half of leagues.  Dude put up 140+ receiving yards in back-to-back games with Mac Jones (who?) under center.  He is the clear WR1 until George Kittle and Ricky Pearsall are back especially with Juaun Jennings still clearly ailing.

Honorable Mention/Cheaper Options:

WR: Romeo Doubs – 50% rostered:  I will happily take 5-55 from Doubs coming off the bye.  Dontayvion Wicks went down with an injury and Christian Watson is not back just yet.  Buyer beware again, as this Packers offense absolutely runs through Josh Jacobs first and often.

Jimmy Horn Jr. – 0% rostered had a nice little Sunday and is a speculative add especially in deep leagues.  More snaps.  More touches.  Both good things.  The Panthers are not winning the championship this year so they might as well determine what they have in the locker room.  They should continue to give Horn opportunities.

TB WRs named Johnson (Tez & Kameron) & Sterling Shepard – <5% rostered:  The MASH unit of WRs lives in Tampa Bay.  The schedule gets tougher with the Lions next but In Baker We Trust!

TE: Cade Otton – 12% rostered is a classic catch and fall down TE but we need healthy bodies.  Michael Mayer – 2% rostered looked good with Bowers down again.  Do not be shocked if the Raiders sit Bowers one more week as the Week 8 bye will allow for four straight weeks to get him fully healthy.

As mentioned above, it has only been two weeks, so if you lost, got smashed even, relax.  It will be OK.  There is no need to rush to drop any specific player, unless you see the name in the opening paragraph.
