Welcome to the first of the 2012 Freerolls, care of our friends at FanDuel.  This is where you get to throw your hat in the ring to win part of a $200 pool.  Not an actual pool, mind you.  Pools cost more than $200.  I don’t even think a kiddie pool would cost that much.  What were you thinking?  No, this is where you try your luck with FanDuel by clicking on this link to build the best football team for week 1 using a $60K salary cap.  First place gets $100, second gets $50, third gets $25 and fourth and fifth place get gift cards to Granny’s Buffet.  Ok, it’s probably not true but I didn’t read up on those prizes so I’ll just assume it’s $15 and $10, respectively.  But who cares?  It’s free money!  So since we’d feel really bad throwing you out to the FanDuel wolves without giving you some possible value plays, we’ve decided to take a look at the player’s pool and give you some possible bargains.  Again, not a real pool.  When will you learn?

Robert Turbin ($4500) – This could be about a cheap of an RB play as you’re going to find all season.  Having missed the last two weeks of practice with back spasms, Marshawn Lynch is looking more and more like a no-go this week.  If he can’t, Turbin gets to go up against a defense that ranked 21st against the run last year.  If Lynch needs a backiatomy, you’ll need Turbin on your team.

Russell Wilson ($5400)/Jake Locker ($6100) – Both present intriguing matchups but both have their flaws so I figured I’d lump them together.  Russell’s team might only need him to ‘control’ the offense given the state of Arizona this year, meaning he just might not do much for you but given his matchup, he’s hard to ignore.  Locker should be flinging the ball all day to try and keep up with Tom Brady but if he gets off to a rough start, we might see Matt Hasselbeck sooner than anyone would like to.  Did I hedge enough in this for you?

Malcom Floyd ($5700) – The Raiders ranked 27th in pass defense last year and we all know Rivers loves to chuck the ball.  Malcom has a good shot at getting you 60 yards and a touchdown.  But if he gets you 59 yards and a TD, this call was complete trash.

Brandon Lloyd ($6100)– Might be the last time Lloyd goes for this low.  His quarterback is Brady and even though the Patriots have a plethora of weapons at their disposal, everyone seems to forget Brandon is one of them.  This Lloyd sale will not last!  Hurry, supplies are limited.

Michael Bush ($5500) – So I’ve been a homer about him all week, mentioning him in my week 1 rankings, Loudon mentioning him in his week 1 rush defense strategy, and then myself again when I drafted with a guy named Scott Pianowski.  There’s a touchdown coming from this guy this week, I can almost taste it.  Might even be two, who knows?  So when he gives you 25 total yards and nothing else, you’ll know who to hate on.  You’re welcome!
