Week 3 is here! How did week 2 go for your fantasy team? Hopefully, you read my article and played these players.

Christian Kirk WOW! I said he could have a high-scoring week, and he delivered. Snagging all 6 targets thrown his way for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns. I think it’s safe to say, Kirk is Lawrence’s guy so far. Will this continue in week 3? I’m a little more hesitant to start him going against Bryce Callahan from the Chargers this week. Callahan has been excellent so far this season and I see no reason for that to change this week.  Callahan so far has only seen 7 targets his way covering the likes of Smith Shuster and Renfrow and has done well, they combined for 31 yards against him. I can see Lawrence looking in another direction this week. The double Jones could see more targets their way this week. Kirk is shaping up to be a stud but this week may not be as productive as the previous 2 weeks.

Jaylen Waddle did exactly what I thought he would.  I said there would be plenty of targets for Waddle and  Hill and it’s like Tagovailoa listened to me Waddle was targeted 19 times while Hill saw 13. What a game for these 2! Combining for a whopping 361 yards and both saw the end zone twice. I also said the Ravens would take an early lead forcing Tagovailoa to throw the ball and that’s the way it happened. This week could be another high-scoring game for the Dolphins, against the Bills. Obviously, the Bills are a juggernaut, and the Dolphins will have to keep up offensively. Waddle will be lining up against Christian Benford, a rookie who barely has any NFL experience. He’s letting 57% of his targets get past him, on the other hand, he’s only been targeted 7 times. Tyreek Hill is going against Taron Johnson, letting 84% of the targets his way get past him. The Bills will probably take an early lead just like the Ravens and we could see another big game. I don’t see the Bill’s defense melting down like Raven’s defense but the Dolphins are going to put up a fight coming off this last week’s huge win, they have massive confidence going for them and that’s very good for your fantasy team. Waddle and Hill should again see plenty of targets and I will have no problem starting either of them this week.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown saw his targets almost double from week 1 from 6 to 11, that is good news if you have him rostered, and Dortch’s target share went down but he was the one who saw the end zone. I did say last week it was odd Dortch had more targets than Brown, and that changed this week with Dortch seeing only 4 targets. Ok, Jalen Ramsey is considered a top corner and Brown will be going against him. I can go either way with this. On 1 hand Ramsey has let 3 touchdowns get scored on him already and in week 1, 7 of the 8 targets, his way were caught. He did return to his normal form in week 2 allowing only 33% of the targets his way to get past him. Can Brown overcome Ramsey? I can see Brown ripping off a long touchdown run however, the targets may be reduced this week. The Cardinals are also coming off a huge late win over the raiders, and just like I said before confidence is a great thing to have.

Terry McLaurin saw his targets double from week 1 from 4 to 8. I was hoping he would have a better week but 75 yards on 4 receptions isn’t the worst. This week could be even worse for Scary Terry going against Darius Slay. The Commanders’ offense is spreading the ball around to all 3 wide receivers, this week could be different though. Going against the Eagles defense who almost completely shut down Jefferson holding him to just 48 yards. Slay has allowed 1 touchdown, but is only allowing a 26% catch rate. If Slay can hold the best wide receiver in the league to 48 yards, I can’t believe McLauren will do any better against him.  Be cautious with McLauren this week.

Here are a few of my favorite must-starts this week.

First up JuJu Smith-Shuster going against Kenny Moore. Moore is allowing 80% of his targets to turn into receptions, In 2 weeks he’s allowed 9 catches and 2 touchdowns.  Surely Mahomes is going to pick on Moore. I know Smith-Shuster only had 3 targets in week 2 but it was the Chargers and their secondary is pretty good.  In week 1 he had 8 targets catching 6 for 79 yards,  his snaps went up in week 2. The chiefs are averaging 35 points a game, and the Colts have given up 44 points in 2 weeks. I think this will be his breakout week.

DeVonta Smith had a rough week 1, with only 4 targets and 0 receptions however, week 2 against the Vikings was a different story. He had 7 receptions on 7 targets for 80 yards but failed to reach the end zone. He will be facing William Jackson this week, Williams is giving up almost 80% of his targets and had 1 touchdown scored on him. This could be just the follow-up week Smith needs to keep building his confidence. With the Commanders’ secondary looking pretty awful so far,  I think this could be another good game for Smith and hopefully, he will get in the end zone.

I really want to believe the Bengals are going to be better this week. So I like Tee Higgins going against D.J. Reed, who is not getting a ton of targets but last week gave up 4 of his 5 targets. Reed is averaging almost 10 yards per reception allowed and Higgins is averaging around 12 yards per catch. Last week Higgins saw 10 targets snagging 6 for 71 yards and 1 touchdown. I think this train keeps rolling this week and Higgins will have another good game and the Bengals get their first win.  Â
