We’re back for the second week of the fantasy football playoffs! I am batting around .500 from last week, so I’ll be better! Let’s dive into my favorite WR starts and sits for Week 16 using Wide Receiver Fantasy Points Scored Slot vs. Wide and our Defense Slot vs. Wide. The Slot vs Wide chart breaks down how many fantasy points a wide receiver has scored so far this season from the slot vs. out wide.

Starts
- Player: Ladd McConkey
- Opponent: at Dallas
It’s been a rough stretch for the Chargers’ passing offense as Justin Herbert battles through injury, averaging just 166 passing yards over the last three games since the Week 12 bye. Despite the downturn, McConkey has still been the Chargers’ highest-scoring wide receiver during that span, averaging 5.5 fantasy points per game.
I know you’re tempted to bench him — but I’m willing to risk the biscuit this week. Dallas’ secondary is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to WRs overall and the second-most to slot receivers.
Now for a fun one: which Chargers WR ranks fourth among all WRs in slot fantasy points (minimum 10 games played, 10+ PPG)? You guessed it — our favorite wee little Ladd.
- Player: Michael Wilson
- Opponent: vs. Atlanta
It’s wild how quickly Wilson has gone from fringe option to must-start, but here we are. In Week 15 — one of the toughest WR matchups — he still delivered double-digit points and found the end zone.
Marvin Harrison Jr. could return this week on a limited basis, but Wilson has built strong chemistry with Jacoby Brissett. Over his last five games, Wilson is playing 82% of his snaps out wide, and on the season, 78% of his fantasy points have come from perimeter alignments.
That’s exactly where Atlanta struggles most. The Falcons allow the highest rate of fantasy points to WRs lined up out wide (80%), making Wilson a strong start once again.
WR3 Starts (WRs ranked outside the top 25)
- Player: Jayden Reed
- Opponent: at Chicago
Since returning to the starting lineup, Reed is averaging five targets and 54 scrimmage yards across two games. After posting his highest snap share of the season (65%) in Week 15, I expect that number to climb again in a favorable divisional matchup.
Chicago is allowing the most fantasy points to WRs (14.0 PPG) and the third-highest target rate (46%). Reed scores 81% of his fantasy points from the slot, where he’s played 70.8% of his snaps in the four games he’s been active.
It’s never too late to be cheesy during the holidays!
- Player: Xavier Worthy
- Opponent: at Tennessee
This sets up as a perfect spot start for the Chiefs’ new WR1, with Rashee Rice unlikely to play while in concussion protocol. With Patrick Mahomes out, Minshew Mania hits the stage for KC in Nashville — and I’m expecting some unexpected fireworks.
The Titans are allowing 36.6 fantasy points per game to WRs, the fifth-most in the league, and the eighth-most over the last month. Worthy leads Kansas City wideouts with 63% of his fantasy points coming from perimeter routes, which is ideal against a Tennessee defense allowing the fourth-most points to outside WRs.
Sits
- Player: Jaylen Waddle
- Opponent: vs. Bengals
Sadly, we may not see the penguin waddle during the most wonderful time of the year. Waddle has been held under 10 fantasy points in three of his last four games and hasn’t topped 55 receiving yards since Week 10.
Cincinnati allows the fewest fantasy points to WRs lined up out wide, where Waddle scores 86% of his fantasy production (11.0 PPG). Oh — and Quinn Ewers is expected to start this week. Hard pass.
- Player: Deebo Samuel Sr.
- Opponent: vs. Eagles
Philadelphia’s secondary has been a nightmare for slot receivers, allowing an NFL-low 4.8 fantasy points per game to the position. They’ve also surrendered the fourth-fewest WR points over the last four weeks.
Since returning, Samuel has taken a back seat to Terry McLaurin, who has scored twice over the last three weeks. Deebo? Zero touchdowns in that span. With 54% of his fantasy points coming from the slot, this is a tough matchup to trust him — especially in a Saturday matinee against a top-10 defense.

Thank god I did not win the claim for Parkinson huh? I dropped Strange and ended up back with Gadsden. With all the injuries to Saints RB’s am I nuts to be thinking about Taysom Hill vs Jets? I can’t believe I’m even typing this. Thank you for your thoughts
Gadsden is going to be great play this week!
Hill could be interesting, but he’s not worth the risk this week. I advise caution!
Sitting any of Pickens v LAC, Wilson v Atl or Flowers v NE in lieu of Worthy @ Tennessee, albeit without Mahomes?
Hey man. I have a last minute question for you. Please rank for PPR.
TreVeyon Henderson, Judkins and Michael Carter. Thanks again man. Hope to be back next week.
