The legalization of sports betting has been reaching new states seemingly every day. Michigan is one of the newest states to join the party. Michigan is trying to go live before the end of the NFL season. Michigan sports betting is slated to go live on November 15th, 2020. On this date, three of the biggest US sportsbooks should be launching their live betting for The Great Lakes State. DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, and BetMGM Sportsbook will all be allowed to begin taking bets. Team futures are always a fun bet, so why not take a gamble on some NFL odds when this time arrives? Here are some ideas for bets that you cannot (smiles as writing this) go wrong with.

There are a number of states with legal mobile sports betting, so if you’re one of the lucky ones, make sure to shop your odds.

Near and dear to my Emergency Department nurse heart are charities who care for the families of ill children. Perhaps no organization does this better than the Ronald McDonald House. Since 1974, RMH has provided a place to stay for the family members of hospitalized children across the globe. A total of 7,200 beds are available for those in need, saving over $700 million in hotel costs. This special nonprofit ensures parents safe places to rest, shower, and clean their clothes within proximity of their children’s medical center.

In 2014, then San Diego Chargers quarterback, Philip Rivers, partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego to raise funds for his local chapter. Rivers, who has his share and then some children (eight at last count), used his throwing arm to help a lot of families out. He used passing yards as a marker for charitable donations. At just under $25 per passing yard, Philip easily topped his donation goal of $100,000 as he passed for 4,286 yards. His on-field accomplishments are many, but what he did for those families carries much more meaning. Today’s Teasers and Pleasers wager article is brought to you by RMH and Philip Rivers. Enjoy!

Living in a world virtually devoid of all team sports has been excruciating for most of us. If you’re like the majority of ardent sports’ fans, you’re looking forward to the upcoming NFL season with an excitement level akin to a four-year-old Christmas Eve.

Football bettors will be salivating as well, as without regular ballgames on the schedule, the betting options have virtually dried up. Heading into every new season, there is a lot of anticipation for who has the best shot at winning the upcoming Super Bowl.

Before the first official NFL kickoff on Thursday, September 5, there was a strong case for the NFC South to be one of the league’s toughest divisions. As the regular season came to a close last month, all but the New Orleans Saints ended their seasons with a whimper. One of the biggest underachievers were the Atlanta Falcons.

While they only fell one game behind a common 8-8 final mark, Atlanta was never an authentic playoff contender. Atlanta’s second consecutive seven-win season left more question marks than answers. First, we’ll look at free agents Atlanta may lose and where they might focus during June’s draft. Finally, we’ll discuss their high priority needs to return to prominence.

Week 16 highlights another of the beauties of DFS.

While most leagues – more importantly, correctly run leagues – end their seasons in Week 16 with a one-week championship, DFS continues onwards. DFS braves the unpredictable nature of Week 17, goes all throughout the NFL playoffs, and extends fantasy football fandom to the very last play of the year.

Don’t second guess yourself. I was able to miraculously win a playoff matchup after swapping Jameis Winston out with about 15 seconds until game time. I didn’t really think Christian Kirk was going to have a good week against the stingy Steelers defense, so I swapped him right before that game in favor of the Monday night showdown between the Giants and the Eagles, inserting Sterling Shepard into my lineup in hopes that he’d rekindle the chemistry between him and Eli. And because of these two near-fatal errors, I won my matchup by .3 thanks to a late-change by my opponent to start Kirk Cousins over Matt Ryan. Decisiveness and sticking with your gut is your best friend in fantasy, and the same can apply to daily fantasy.

It would be fun to play in a 60,000 person DFS tournament against 59,999 DFS equivalents of the Dallas Cowboys. The amount of chances that they’ve had to run away with the abysmal NFC Least and put the Eagles’ hopes away is ridiculous. It would be like if you drafted Kirk Cousins this week (don’t) with a huge expectation of his performance against Detroit, and though he didn’t perform up to par, the other 59,999 teams chose either Devlin Hodges, or Gardner Minshew, or Eli Manning (don’t take them, either) and just begged you to stay in the running.

Turkey day provided some… interesting football. David Blough was Joe Montana. The matchup between the third string quarterback-led Lions and the dismal Bears hit the over in total points, because of course it would. The Cowboys got completely stymied by the Bills. Younghoe Koo turned out to have the touch of PelĂ© in a close comeback effort.

Julio Jones is always a costly receiving option. In the past seven weeks though, he has underperformed based on his expensive price point. Three catches for 79 yards against the Saints was fine, I guess. Six catches for 91 last week would have been awesome for a DFS WR3 option. But for Julio, this just doesn’t cut it for me.

This is exactly the reason why I hope he doesn’t get taken by the other CLUELESS daily fantasy players that don’t read my almighty advice before each Sunday. Those same people that didn’t read my advice on the Josh Allen-John Brown stack, or Zeke’s bounce-back performance, or Kyle Rudolph’s minimally-priced game last week. Sigh. Some people will never learn.

Here are the top value picks, alongside Julio, for DFS this week.
