This week  in the Fantasy Football Championship league I wasn’t quite as on target as last week, but thankfully still lead the Writer’s League.  I went a little nuts last week and entered 9 “duels” and went 5-4.

We’ve also got our own special league (you have to be special to get in) on FanDuel.  It’s capped at ten teams, 5 dollars to enter 45 dollar prize pot.  It’s weekly so we can duel it out with new teams each week.  D-Fresh won the $45 last week with the trio of Vick,AP, and Collie leading the way! Congrats!

If you are new to Fan Duel they’ll match your first 10 buck with a free 10 bucks, that’s more than 19 but less than 21.  You have to clickety-click Razzball’s Week 4 FanDuel League to get the 10 green backs.

We get 60,000 to spend at our leisure. I ended with 0 dollars again so that’s probably a bad thing.  Here is my first attempt at my week 4 team –

QB Michael Vick (WAS @ PHI): The Redskins pass defense has been giving up goodly yardage and Vick is still doing his thing and isn’t as expensive as Manning and Rodgers.

RB Chris Johnson (DEN @ TEN): I missed out on AP last week because I didn’t want to spend the money on him.  CJ is one of the few possibly, maybe, sorda, “sure things.” Turn around three times and spit.

RB Cedric Benson (CIN @ CLE): Cleveland’s rush defense isn’t great and I think we’ll see Cincy go back to the run game because Carson is not well.

WR Austin Collie (IND @ JAC): Collie is having a break out season, but if Garcon is back I’ll have to change this pick later.  The Mannings are going to have an easy time passing on the Jags, but I’d rather have the number of targets narrowed in my favor.

WR Wes Welker (NE @ MIA): He always seems to do well against his old team.

WR Greg Jennings (DET @ GB): Jennings needs to get going and Detroit is the team to do that against.

TE Dustin Keller (NYJ @ BUF): The Bills don’t like covering tight ends and Keller is so hot right now.  Obey my dog!

K Sebastian Janikowski (HOU @ OAK): Sea Bass effed up last week and I think this will be a redemption game.  Hey, it’s a kicker.

D Green Bay Packers (DET @ GB): If Best is out this could be even uglier than it should be.

    Doc,

    Who do you like better:

    Cutler or McNabb (Week 4 and 5) and Big Ben (Week 6 and on)

    i’m in a 10-team 3wr/2rb league.

    my qb’s are rodgers and cutler.
    my wr’s are awful: just reggie wayne with the alternating cast of mike wallace, demaryius, massaquoi and jabar gaffney as my wr2 and wr3

    i’ve been offered roddy white for rodgers. this seems like a no brainer to me. take it?

    @dja: Do you think they’d go for Cutler? Rodgers seems a little steep.

  4. dja says:

    i’m guessing no. we’ve already been back-and-forth a few times. i feel like this might be one shot to score a decent wr for rodgers or cutler.

    @dja: Hmm, I like White a lot and feel pretty good with Cutler. I think Rodgers is worth more than White, but it does fit your team well.

    i offered a counter of cutler/gaffney for roddy. probably will be denied, in which case i might just take the original offer…

    Thoughts on Danny Amendola? Mess of catches there, but how much is St Louis worth trusting with regard to him?

    Put this question too late on an earlier thread:

    Thoughts on this trade (ppr)

    I get MJD and Hines

    I give Colston and McCoy

    Not desperate for MJD (already have Sjax, Turner, JC). Just trying to buy him while he’s still for sale. Too much to give?

    PPR league, which side?

    Calvin and Deangelo or Steve Carolinasmith and Mccoy?

    I have been offered a trade in my PPR league, iffy on if I should accept.

    QB-Alex Smith, RB-Ray Rice, RB-Marion Barber would come to me in exchange for:

    QB-Jay Cutler, RB-Jahvid Best to other team.

    This is not a keeper league and I already have Schaub as my primary QB. I originally offered Cutler for Rice straight up. Opinions please?!?

    Doc – Is it worth dropping Garcon for D Thomas? Naannee? Crabtree? Ryan Torain?

    I know he has been injured but he didn’t look impressive when he was out there – 5 grabs out of 12 targets! With collie coming on strong it just seems it won’t bode well for Mr. Garcon.

    I am good at WR so essentially I am looking for someone w/ better upside that I can hold on to or use for possible trade bait. If you can even suggest someone else that feel is up and coming sleeper worth taking a flier on rather than holding onto Garcon. Or if I am better off holding onto this cat.

    Thanks in advance.

    Also – What is gut feeling on this kid Stephen Williams out of Arizona? Is he worth a pickup and start this weelk? Or do think Heyward Bey a better pick up and start.

    I have AJ but it looks like they are going to sit him.

    Also, I lucked into Flacco off waivers. Question to all:

    Flacco or McNabb?

  16. MrR8DER says:
    (link)

    You have to go McNabb this wk. Flacco has Pit – While McNabb Seeks REVENGE! IMO

    I was sort of leaning towards the revenge factor too. It just hard not to want to play with a shiny new toy right away (esp. when it was free!)

    Want to thank Doc for encouraging me to be a little more bold with my trade offers. Asked him a week ago about offering Vick for Cooley and he said I could do better. Happy to report now that I just sent off Vick and Bradshaw in exchange for MJD and Cooley. Hopefully this’ll be just what I need to dig out of my 1-2 start.

    Just picked up BJGE for 23 bucks and was immediately offered Barber for him. I don’t love the Cowboys run game right now but this is good value for BJGE, no?

    Ok, so here’s my team that’s been plagued by the injury bug and the BYE week bug:

    QB: Cutler
    WR: Wayne
    WR: Ward
    WR: Jacoby
    RB: Bradshaw
    RB: Wells
    TE: Keller
    W/R: McGahee
    BN: Austin
    BN: DezB
    BN: Mike Williams (TB)
    BN: Breaston
    BN: Moreno

    Lance Moore comes off of waivers tomorrow. Currently I have a claim of McGahee in for him, but I’m also not sure if I want to make that claim with Rice missing some practice. Would you make a claim for Moore with McGahee or should I drop Breaston who is at least out for a game or two?

    Also Torain comes off waivers tomorrow, but I can’t pick him up until he clears because I dropped him. Assuming no one picks him up, should I drop McGahee or Breaston for Torain, if I don’t make/get the claim on Moore?

    Lynch dropped in a league. I have Kolb to possibly drop, but Vick as my starter and that scares me. Other options to drop are Fred Jackson, Jacoby Jones (my #4 after Andre, Calv, and Roddy), Donald Brown and Sidney Rice. What do you recommend?

  22. Joel says:

    Doc, my wrs are Austin, Welker, maclin, Hines Ward, L. Moore. RBs are Best, SJax, Bradshaw and barber. I’ve been offered Arian Foster (who as you know I stupidly traded last week for Best) and Johnny Knox for Austin and bradshaw. For some reason, I want to take it. Should I?

  23. AdamH says:

    PS RB depth is McCoy, Moreno, Mathews, Mcfadden, Brown, Torain

    Doc,

    Who do you like more?

    MJD, Brees, and Ocho Cinco or DJax, Cutler, and Nicks?

    Rate these 3 TE’s in order: Owen Daniels, Jermaine Gresham, Brandon Pettiguew

    To all -

    Do you think this is a fair trade – I trade R Mathews & Wallace (I own Hines) i return I get Calvin Johnson & M Lynch.

    My Rb’s are AP, Moreno, Charles BJ Ellis
    my Wr’s are White, AJ, Hines Garcon Jacoby Jones.

    I am thinking if I start AJ, White & CJ along with AP I am looking good.

    And if Lynch does get traded to GB I am looking real good.

    Let me know what you guys think. PPR league

    Who would you put in the WR spot and a separate Flex spot?
    Rostered: Tolbert, Sims-Walker, D. Mason, Lance Moore
    WW: Darby, Ivory, Maroney, Washington

    I’m thinking Lance Moore in the WR spot for this week. Not sure who’s going to give me the most in the Flex spot. Slim pickin’s. Tolbert’s on the same level as the other WW guys with Mathews back. I’ll probably dump Tolbert for Felix Jones after the Cowboys’ bye week.

    Doc -

    Thanks for all of your comments/advice through out the season thus far. Have applied an am 3-0. Looking at week 4 I am faced with a WR dilema – need to start 3 of the following:

    Smith (car)
    Murphy (oak)
    Walter (hou)
    Cribbs (cle)
    Thomas (den)

    Thoughts?

    MR

  29. AdamH says:

    @MrR8DER: Id definitely do that trade. You dont need Mathews (Not to mention he’s a huge question mark). That would give you a studly three wideouts.

  30. stumanji says:

    In a vacuum, would you trade Beanie for Hines Ward?

  31. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @Starlin Castrated: He’ll always be on the edge of rosterable, but in PPR I think he stays on the rosterable side.

    @Fresh: Congrats!!

    @Shippity: Snelling

    @hideousmutants: I think it’s fair. I’d go for it.

    @Broadstreetbrawler: McCoy side

    @Donruss: I’d do it

    @MrR8DER: I could see dropping him for Crabtree who will have more value if he turns things around.

    @MrR8DER: Bey is probably better this week. getting a ton of targets. Really like Williams, but not the best situation.

    @hideousmutants: McNabb

    @Pepe Silvia: Good luck!!!

    @stumanji: Yeah, I’d do that.

    @Wilsonian: I would drop Breaston first and then McGahee. I’d get Torain if you can.

    @AdamH: I’d drop Freddy for him.

    @Joel: I think you need to hold onto Austin there.

    @Isles Guru: MJD side

    @The Vaporizers: In that order.

    @MrR8DER: I hate to sell low on Mathews before this AZ game.

    @Rookie Season: Agree with Moore. I’d go with the backup whose starter isn’t going. Maroney or Ivory or Darby

    @MR: I’d go with your top 3 there.

    @stumanji: I like Beanie’s upside.
