Over the past month, I’ve gone through my top 50 Defensive Linemen, Linebackers and Defensive Backs, and now it’s time to put it all together. Below you will see my top 75 overall IDPs, regardless of position. I’ll be brief with this write-up because it’s well over 100 degrees here in Austin, and I have busy day that involves floating down the San Marcos River in a tube with a few cases of Lone Star, followed by an ungodly amount of BBQ in Lockhart. But before we get to the actual rankings, here are a few topics merit some additional discussion:

It seems I have a thing for Rams and people named Chris when I do these sleeper posts as I gave you Chris Ivory and Sam Bradford earlier this month. Don't take that statement about Rams as a bestiality thing, BTW. The only animals I'd go after are the kind Tom Brady married. They've got cool horns! But enough about this, I'm here now to talk a bit about a man. A man we don't all know but should love. What is a man? A miserable pile of secrets?!? Woah, going Symphony of the Night on me there, are you imaginary reader? It's summer and I've been playing the classics. You're young enough to call a game made in the late 90's a classic...now I'm sad...but enough about video game nostalgia, I'm here to talk to you about Chris Givens and why he'll be a sleeper for 2013 Fantasy Football...
What you're still here? You want more rankings? You're not satisfied with Top 20's? Well then let's make this go to 11...given the context, maybe a Spinal Tap reference doesn't make sense there but whatevs, we're still ranking and you're still reading. Yesterday I gave you my Top 40 Running Backs and on Monday I gave you my Top 50 for 2013 Fantasy Football. And before all that, I gave you all the rankings you'd ever want to rankle with up above in the menu bar...where it says Rankings. If you can't tell, I'm going for the record amount of times I can type 'rankings' in one paragraph and I think I'm gonna get there. Rankings. But enough about my pursuit for the Guinness, let's get on with the Top 40 Wide Receivers for 2013 Fantasy Football...
You know like they always say. Ain't no party like my Nana's tea party cuz my Nana's tea party don't stop. Or at least I do as a Flight Of The Conchords fan but not their actual show. Is that weird? Like saying 'I don't like shredded coconut but I like coconut milk and actual chunks of it'. Well I say that, too. Shizz feels like shredded paper in my mouth, can't stand it. German chocolate cake was my nana's favorite cake and she always had it for the b-day which is to say, I hated going to my Nana's b-day party. Wow, I'm getting all biographical up in this business when I should be talking to you about our 2013 Fantasy Football Rankings. My bad, but now you know everything you've ever needed to know about me and more, right? You could even write my eulogy at this point. Sky: lover of fantasy sports, hater of shredded coconut, was all about Nana's tea parties. I'm tearing up over here, I mean you really GET me! Now down to the brass tax you came for. If you're wondering how to start the marvelous journey that began last week up until now with our Rankings, you can either click the link I provided you or scroll up to the menus above. You see that one that says Rankings? Click there or hover over it to see where there other individual rankings reside. Not enough ways to reach our rankings for you yet? Fine, give me your address, I will print it as a book and sell it to you for $20. Shipping charges are separate. You ok with the links now? Good, so with that let's move along with the show as we look at the Top 40 Running Backs for 2013 Fantasy Football...
Is it getting hot in here or is it just me? That wasn't me trying to be cool, it's June and I haven't gone outside for about two weeks and my AC is on the fritz so I'll say 'yes, it's just me'. We're knee deep in summer and that means we're getting up to our nose in rankings season for fantasy football around here. I've already brought you my Top 10 for 2013 Fantasy Football as well as my Top 20. Oh and along the way I've given you a top 20 for Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, and Tight End. But I'm not gonna give you the links to those, I'm gonna give you the keys to the car and tell you where to go. As a wise man once said, 'give someone a fish, you feed them for a day. Teach someone to fish, you feed them for a lifetime. Unless they are those guys who think fishing is a sport...they're kinda weird and they don't actually eat the fish'. So I'm modernizing the story a bit, ok? Bass Masters my ass...anywho, if you wanna know where to go to find all this info, you'll notice on the menu bar it says 'Rankings'. What you need more direction than that? What are we, in kindergarten? I get dibs on the fresh bottle of Elmers! For real, if you can't figure out where to go from 'Rankings', though, I can't help you. I mean I could but then I'd be writing a 500 word tutorial as an opening paragraph to something that's not 'Internet For Dummies'. Instead, I say let's get this show on the road and explore the Top 50 for 2013 Fantasy Football...
Well, we've gone through just about every type of 20 there is this week. We've brought you the Top 20 Quarterbacks, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers and now we're here to talk about Tight Ends for our 2013 Fantasy Football Rankings. On the one hand, the position is deep. On the other hand, there's really only two ringers in the bunch that will outpace their TE compadres by enough that you'll truly notice. On the third hand which is actually just a cut out of the Hamburger Helper that I've glued to my shirt, Tight End is the position just behind QB on which I'm going to say do not take a top one unless they fall to you in the draft. It's a position that had a few surprises last year that crept into the top 10 and I fully expect the same to happen this year for various reasons. In shallow enough leagues, I'm going to be very tempted to stream them as needed until it proves I have a keeper or until someone notices it and starts hoarding guys like Marcedes Lewis. At that point, it's clear I've done my job: made someone done lose their minds. But that's my approach and not what this is all about. This is the Top 20 Tight Ends for 2013 Fantasy Football...
When drafting Defensive Lineman, you pick your studs early, then look for some pass-rush specialists to complement them. When drafting Linebackers, you look for consistency in tackles above all, focusing on three-down backers. When drafting Defensive Backs? Anything goes. Some owners will only take safeties, and pretty much just strong safeties at that, knowing that tackles are more predictable than any other DB stat. Others look for deflections, interceptions and tackles in coverage by focusing on DBs that play alongside a shutdown corner, or rookie corners in general. Still others will go for the gold, taking a return man who might win you a matchup all by himself by taking one to the house.
Not gonna lie, as of this typing, there are a lot of Running Backs I'd like to own in 2013. Like A LOT of them if you didn't get the cut of my jib the first time. The position feels oddly, dare I say it, deep this year. Of course, injuries haven't happened yet and neither has suckitude so saying it's deep might be premature. That's what she said! What? Anyways, we just keep trucking along on our 2013 Fantasy Football Rankings and we're glad to have you along. So with that, let's dive in to the top 20 running backs and how they're ranked for the 2013 fantasy football season...
Quarterback is a position this year that - much like a child left in a car in the middle of summer with the windows rolled up - doesn't need to be worried about. Woah, strike that analogy and reverse it! Really, QB is gonna be the least of your worries in 2013, I can almost promise you. That 'almost' was brought to you by Elite QB Inc where we learn that a Superbowl winning QB should be a top 10 QB in the next fantasy year only because everyone and their mother know his name. I hear ya. Last year someone had a beef with me ranking Eli so low because he carried his team to that Super Bowl win. Eh, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, uh, this is Fantasy Football and we don't care. Good night! As stated, this isn't a position to get worried about this year in terms of getting a top tier guy. There's plenty of value up and down this list and a few sleeper worthy types that we might/should discuss at a later date. But until then, I say we keep on keeping on with our 2013 Fantasy Football Rankings as we look at the Top 20 quarterbacks for the 2013 Fantasy Football season...
With the large amount of rookie quarterback success in 2012, with names like Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, there are several young players in Miami that should not be overlooked, one of them is 2nd year quarterback Ryan Tannehill. I will admit that I didn’t know much about Ryan Tannehill until I watched an episode of “Hard Knocks” starting the Dolphins in mini-camp. Not sure if I’m more embarrassed about not knowing much about him at that point or that I was actually watching the HBO series. Anyway the show basically portrayed Tannehill as a talented but arrogant 1st round draft pick, who was fighting veteran David Garrard and Matt Moore for a job that was basically his. There was speculation after the draft that he might not even play due to a hold out on his contract...wait, a holdout for a rookie? Yes it was true and probably where he gets the arrogant and cocky label from, well that and a hot girlfriend. Don’t believe me? Google it… Well now that I have distracted all the readers and are probably no longer reading we are going to take a look Tannehill’s 2012 season and how it compared to some of the other rookies with the hope that we can apply it to his 2013 and future potential as what we all hope will be the next Dolphin’s franchise quarterback.
As opposed to my 2013 DL Rankings, the top spot in the LB rankings is not quite as clear cut. Luke Kuechly took the #1 overall spot in 2012, as a rookie no less, so common sense would tell you that he will only improve in year 2. I’m not one to disagree with Thomas Paine, so Kuechly will appear at the top of my rankings, but he likely won’t be on any of my teams. Unlike the top Linemen, the top Linebackers are not worth reaching for in 2013.
