Your lungs are burning as you bend over to catch your breath. Snot trickles to your upper lip and the icy wind whips around causing it to freeze almost instantly. We've been hiking for 2 weeks but it already feels like an eternity. As the blood rushes to your forehead, you wonder how this seemed like a good idea 6 months ago while surfing the internet in your posh apartment in the city.
Of course, you know it's too far to turn back, but the end is nowhere in sight. All that can be done is to make the best of the journey and put one foot in front of the other. The crunch of the snow betrays me as I saunter over and remind you "The next checkpoint is getting close where we can add some RBs for the week ahead." Blinking, you stand up and look over the trail where the ridge meets the sun and feel a glimmer of hope. There's fight left in you.

Week 2 is almost in the books with only a Monday Night Football tilt between the Browns and Jets remaining. A couple of star running backs had scares over the weekend, and few week 1 handcuffs produced. Don't get caught with your pants down and avoid the risk of a league-mate snagging up a starting backup. Let's jump right in to this week’s handcuff report.
At this point, this is a yearly rant for me. Having 3 games in the late afternoon slot during a full slate in week 2 is just dumb. There are west coast teams that are traveling to the East coast that could benefit not having their internal clocks thrown off. Los Angeles lost to the Detroit Lions and I'm not totally convinced that they wouldn't have played better if kick off was at 4:25 Eastern. There are plenty of statistics out there stating that West Coast teams don't fare well in the 1:00 Eastern slot. San Francisco also played in Cincinnati and that could have been a 4:05 start time. If those two games were moved to the later afternoon slot, that would have been an 8/5 early to late split which is much more digestible for the football fan that wants to keep an eye on all of the games. The number of fans that want to watch more plays from all of the games grows every year as fantasy football grows.
Thursday night proved that we can’t give up on players or teams after week 1. Mike Evans and Curtis Samuel didn’t have massive weeks but they gave us hope and sometimes that’s enough, ya know? Jameis Winston also looked somewhat sharp. Who knows if those spike weeks are coming for him and the Tampa Bay offense, but at least things were better than the week 1 game against San Francisco.
Week 2 features some good afternoon matchups in Denver, Los Angeles, and Oakland if the early slate doesn’t satisfy. Lets get to some injuries!
Lamar Jackson threw for five touchdowns en route to a 36.6/33.6 point performance on DraftKings/Fanduel, respectively. Mark Ingram rumbled for a pair of touchdowns and registered 25.7/22.7 fantasy points. DeSean Jackson went off in his Philadelphia debut, scorching the Redskins defense for 38.4/31.4 fantasy points. Mark Andrews and Delanie Walker each recorded 20+ point performances at the depleted tight end position. The 49ers defense picked off Jameis Winston for a touchdown not once but twice to lead all fantasy defenses.
You know what all of these players had in common other than their strong outings? They were all a part of my Week 1 DFS guide (sure, Jameis Winston and Adam Humphries were too, but you can’t win them all, right?), and as you can see, I’m humbly enjoying my overall accuracy. It won me some money, and I hope it did the same for you. Let’s do it again!
After a wild Week 1, while some fantasy owners are panicking and making season-long adjustments after only one week, this is a time where we'll see a bunch of players bounce-back and reward the calmer owners across multiple leagues.
There are some very interesting matchups to exploit this week, so let's break down a few.
Welcome to Propageddon week 2. Week 1 was as whacky as expected. Brace yourselves for the pendulum to swing back in a bunch of spots this Sunday. Try your hand at this week’s PROPS and see if you can rise above the mediocrity. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Week one of Days of Antonio Brown’s Life has now aired and the show featured more plot twists than all the seasons of Game of Thrones combined. Will AB emerge from the flames on a dragon, ready to torch the non-believers? Please, blog, may I have some more?
This AFC Divisional bout is slated as the highest point total in week 2. Initially opening on Monday morning as the 2nd highest point total. But following Oaklands offensive display on prime-time Monday Night Football against a loaded defensive Denver team, Vegas bumped the line on the KC/OAK matchup to the top dog. Passing up the 2017 NFC championship re-match, NO @ LAR.
Now that week 1 is in the books, we can start to relax. There were many surprise performances and many disappointing performances in week 1. If you still have uncertainty at certain positions, you have come to the right place. I’m going to dissect this weeks matchups and give you the best streamers for week 2.
