Player: Brandon Aiyuk

Overall Ranking: 67

Last year, we saw the first phase of the shift of Aiyuk as the unquestioned WR1 of the 49ers. This year, we will see his full-on breakout, buy now before it’s too late. In 2022, with a healthy Deebo, Kittle, and McCaffery, Aiyuk led the Niners in targets (114) targets, receptions (78) and yards (1,015). He was second in TDs with eight, only to Kittle, who had 11 TDs.

Aiyuk’s role also has the least amount of overlap with Deebo and CMC’s utilization. This production came with some volatility at QB and Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy learning the offense. With Purdy looking great from the elbow injury and ready to lead the offense, I see the sky is the limit for Aiyuk this year.

Stance: Very bullish on acquiring in all builds.

Player: Joe Mixon

Overall Ranking: 81

Outside of his 53-point fantasy outing last year, Mixon was largely disappointing in 2022. However, he came in second in carries inside the ten-yard line and is tied to one of the most potent offenses in the NFL. There are tons of volatility and risk baked into Mixon with his off-field character concerns, but at least for one more year, he is tied to Burrow and the Bengals.

I sold most of my shares of Mixon early this off-season. Then, as his price plummeted, I traded back for him for pennies on the dollar, and now I have a low-end RB1 for the season on those competing teams.

Stance: I am only looking to acquire if my team is competing and has championship aspirations. If not contending, trade away to a contender.

Player: Marvin Mims

Overall Ranking: 116

Mim’s Rank is up 20 spots from last week for me. Mim’s ranking uptick is primarily due to Tim Patrick and Jerry Jeudy’s injuries. Not to mention, Mims went for two receptions and 51 yards in the last preseason game and looked dangerous. Marvin Mims now ascends to the WR2 on the new-look Sean Peyton-led Broncos offense. He is still pretty cheap in redrafts, and I am targeting him early and often.

Stance: I am very bullish on buying into Mims wherever possible as long as reasonable prices are. Win-Now, Rebuilders, does not matter.

Player: Keenan Allen

Overall Ranking: 104

Keenan Allen has easily been the most targeted receiver in the Chargers camp. Allen expressed frustration with former OC Lombardi: “I was stuck at the slot the whole time.” With Kellan Moore, “I’m playing inside and out now.” Allen figures to see similar usage to that of CeeDee Lamb from the previous two years with Dallas. Marry this with Justin Herbert’s stellar arm and Keenan’s route-running prowess, and you have a recipe for a top-10 season.

Stance: This is specifically a Win-Now dynasty asset acquisition. If you are not contending, trade him away to someone who is.
